Dane had made his decision and adjourned the meeting; he and Hal needed to prepare first.
Mainly, before leaving Earth, they both needed to "ask for leave."
Hal specifically went home to ask Carol for leave.
Don't misunderstand, he was no longer an employee of Ferris Aircraft; he had been promoted.
He was now the official boyfriend of CEO Carol Ferris, getting paid even without working.
Now he was just asking for leave from his girlfriend as a boyfriend, to show that he wasn't out fooling around.
Dane was in the same boat, and he had quite a few people to ask for leave from.
After the meeting, he first went to Diana's house to "ask for leave" and stayed the whole night.
Fortunately, it was a detached Villa, otherwise the people downstairs would have been very curious why the vibrations lasted all night.
The next day, he went to Harley to "ask for leave," but her aura wasn't as strong, and he easily handled her.
Heh, not a single one could put up a fight!
Then he went to Poison Ivy to "ask for leave"; don't get the wrong idea, the atmosphere wasn't right yet, and for now, their relationship was still very pure.
After a day of "asking for leave," the relationship only progressed to third base at most.
But Dane wasn't in a hurry; these things lose their meaning if rushed.
He cared about feelings.
On the fourth day, he went to Zatanna to "ask for leave." Zatanna was very angry that he only came to her on the fourth day, and spent half the day preparing for her magic show, ignoring him.
By the way, almost all members of the Justice League had asked Dane for help with a confusion spell to conceal their identities, but Zatanna had not done so.
She was already a famous Magician; her identity being exposed only increased her value and fame.
And even if she encountered any danger, she could just hide in the Rock of Eternity, and no one would catch her.
Dane spent half a day watching her work and perform, not showing any impatience.
Even when Zatanna deliberately didn't speak to him, he always stayed by her side.
Finally, in the evening, Zatanna couldn't help but speak to him.
"No matter what happens on that Planet, you must come back to me!" Dane promised with a smile.
This could have gone to home plate, but Dane suppressed his impulse, wanting to save it for the right time.
The last day, Dane reserved for his little maid, Miss Witch June.
He didn't do anything special, just took her out like normal people: shopping, watching movies, eating, and chatting.
Before, he only understood the Witch, but now he was starting to learn more about June Moone, the female archaeologist.
June looked very happy. She even took Dane to see historical documents related to Aztec culture, and she always managed to make dry history fascinating.
She was a very smart and excellent woman. The Witch never appeared throughout, leaving the time to June herself.
Eventually, they naturally reached second base. Dane felt that was enough and didn't continue further.
After five fulfilling days, he found Hal, who looked utterly drained.
Dane looked at him with an unreadable expression.
"Hal, young men need to learn moderation!"
Hal was so embarrassed he wished he could dig a hole with his toes. He didn't know what was going on... He felt that after they got back together, Carol's combat power was much stronger than before, and wasn't this frequency a bit too high?
Hal didn't know that during the time after he and Carol broke up, he occasionally went on a few adventures.
But Carol had been diligently practicing her "inner cultivation" alone, accumulating too much pressure.
This time, taking advantage of his "leave of absence," she simply released all that pressure at once, which naturally made her seem fierce as a tiger.
This was also to prevent him from being seduced by some alien Bitch, so she took out insurance beforehand.
Hal grumbled, "It would be great if you could finish things faster..."
Dane replied without changing his expression, "You know I have a big business; even one day away from the company means a huge backlog of work."
"And this time we're leaving Earth! Of course, I have to handle everything I can beforehand."
Hearing this, Hal actually felt a little ashamed.
He had spent the past few days solely with Carol and hadn't paid attention to the reconstruction of Coast City. That was truly wrong of him!
"Alright, no more idle talk. Let's head to Oa now."
Hal nodded, and the two quickly flew into the sky.
After breaking through the atmosphere, Hal pointed forward, and a wormhole appeared.
The two directly entered it, and Dane curiously observed the inside of the wormhole.
Nebulae were stacked together like clouds; he even felt like he could reach out and touch them, but he wasn't foolish enough to actually do so.
This wormhole space was like a highway in the Universe. The distance traveled inside was much shorter than in the Real World, saving a lot of time.
Dane suddenly had an idea: he now had a Green Lantern ring, so why not use it to open a wormhole to Kryptonian?
He could collect some Kryptonite just in case. And even if he didn't consider Kryptonite's restraining effect on Kryptonians,
it was itself a rare material that could be used for a lot of advanced technology.
As for the use of the lantern ring, that wasn't really a problem.
After Sinestro abandoned this ring, it had already initiated the program to find a new successor.
At that time, the person who got it was Hal, and he was already a Green Lantern, so the lantern ring temporarily entered a dormant state.
It wasn't until Hal remembered it later that he handed it to Dane.
Dane's willpower was strong enough to become the new Green Lantern; he met the condition of having a powerful will, but Dane did not accept it at the time.
How should he put it, green was still a bit, emm... But Hal hadn't told him earlier that he had another lantern ring. If he had known this sooner, he could have just sealed Parallax into this ring when he performed the sealing magic.
Now, Hal didn't even dare to overuse that ring, fearing that there wouldn't be enough green lantern energy and Parallax would escape again.
Thinking of this, he reminded Hal:
"When the time comes, remember not to overuse the Green Lantern energy. Don't forget Parallax is still in your ring!"
Hal nodded solemnly.
Not long after, the two flew out of the wormhole, and Oa was already in sight.
Hal noticed that the Green Lanterns gathered on Oa today were far more numerous than he had seen last time.
The moment he and Dane appeared on Oa, they immediately attracted countless onlookers.
Most people recognized Hal Jordan to some extent. The fact that the first Earthling became a Green Lantern was quite a hot topic on Oa.
But who was the other person? He looked like another Earthling?
Oa had been under martial law for several days. Except for Green Lanterns, no outsiders were allowed on Oa according to regulations.
In this unclear situation, Dane's appearance easily led people to associate it with some unpleasant things.
Indeed, several Green Lanterns noticed Dane, the stranger, and immediately stepped forward to question him.
"Who are you?"
Dane looked over, noticing they were several burly humanoid alien creatures.
He wasn't wearing his ring, so he didn't have the built-in translator.
However, he discovered something: Shazam's ability to understand human languages was still effective.
This discovery made his eyes look somewhat unreadable.
The aliens he was looking at got goosebumps all over and couldn't help but say angrily,
"We're asking you, who exactly are you? Outsiders are not allowed here."
How could Hal let Dane face this problem alone? He quickly stood in front of Dane and loudly said to the aliens,
"He's with me, he's here to help!"
"Help? An Earthling?"
The aliens exchanged glances, about to burst out laughing, but suddenly found their mouths stuck shut, unable to open.
All of them were like this, so they covered their mouths, pulling at their jaws as if performing a pantomime, as if they thought prying them open would allow them to speak.
The Green Lanterns standing in the distance didn't understand what these people were doing. Was it a joke?
But then those aliens suddenly looked at Dane with shocked expressions and raised their lantern rings.
"Hey, hey, no way?" a Green Lantern who saw it exclaimed in surprise.
In the Green Lantern Corps, raising one's ring was no different from raising a gun.
What was wrong with these people? Were they going to fight here?
But those people didn't "open fire" as they imagined. Kilowog, with a heavenly descent of justice, suppressed them.
"A bunch of idiots!!!"
The Green Lanterns in the distance covered their ears, their expressions distorted.
"Kilowog's voice is as booming as ever!"
