Justice League's statement quickly spread throughout the World through various media. No one had expected their response to be so swift and direct.
If you don't need us, then we will leave.
Shazam was very "amenable to good advice"; his move directly stunned countless online commenters who had been spouting off. Both supporters and non-supporters fell silent.
Greece, however, went into a collective frenzy, and called out to Shazam across the air, saying that their entire nation warmly welcomed Justice League's presence.
The internet once again split into two camps. The ranks of netizens supporting superheroes suddenly grew, launching an attack on those attempting to tarnish the heroes' reputation.
The spitting war almost extended from the internet to the Real World.
Once the silent majority speaks, their power is immense, but the opposition also has background forces supporting them, not falling behind for a moment.
While the internet was abuzz, heroes from all walks of life gathered once again in the Hall of Justice.
As soon as he arrived, Clark eagerly asked, "Dane, what's with that ~ statement?"
Dane was too lazy to correct his way of addressing him: "That alien force is at work; they want to force us out of the United States through public opinion."
Batman immediately reacted: "You deliberately followed their script. You want to lure them out?"
"Exactly." Dane nodded.
This is a thinking person, unlike a certain big dummy with a super brain who only asks questions when something happens.
"But..." Nightwing frowned, "What about the order outside?"
Dane felt there was a very bad tendency in his words. Justice League was never the maintainer of order, so he said:
"The order outside is, of course, maintained by themselves. Don't they have Police?"
"No!" Red Hood muttered. Gotham's Police, it's better not to mention them!
"I hope you understand, whether our opponent this time is strong or not is beside the point, but they are absolutely troublesome.
They reproduce through mitosis, and once they transform into ordinary humans, it's very difficult for our technology to find them."
Dane himself could distinguish them by observing their souls, but with nearly ten billion people in the World, if the "parasites" spread, it would be impossible for him to identify each one individually; that's unrealistic.
Moreover, after the "parasites" possess a body, they can even directly copy and imitate DNA, so genetic testing is not feasible.
"If we don't do anything, those restless guys will jump out," Batman said.
Dane knew who he was referring to. The appearance of metahumans didn't just lead to the emergence of Super Heroes; Super Villains also began to surface.
It's just that the Justice League has always been like a great mountain pressing down on everyone.
Now that the mountain has moved, even if only temporarily, it could give those Super Villains an opportunity to cause harm to society.
"Don't worry, I've considered that point too," Dane said.
Originally, he hadn't thought that much; he wanted to give those who constantly clamored, protested, and demonstrated against the Justice League a taste of life without Super Heroes. Who knows, maybe they could really stand on their own?
Some of Lex Luthor's words weren't entirely without reason; the existence of Super Heroes might indeed, to some extent, curb humanity's drive for development.
But then he thought it over and felt it was inappropriate. Doing nothing at all would be too childish, and this upheaval would inevitably harm the people who truly supported them.
Thus, he came up with this idea, which was inspired by Atlantis.
He then explained, "I will use the power of the dream stone to set up a large dream within the United States, so that any losses incurred in the dream can be repaired."
"That's a good idea," Batman thought for a moment. "But how will you cover the entire country? I recall the dream stone seems to have a range limit."
The dream stone cannot infinitely expand dreams; that is a power only the Dream possesses. If Dane activates the dream stone's ability, he can only cast it within his line of sight.
But can he see the entire United States at a glance? Obviously not.
However, when he was in the Undersea World, he could simultaneously cover two nations with the dream, and there was a reason for this.
"The dream stone can spread magic power nationwide through mobile devices."
To translate, this means anyone with a mobile phone is within the dream stone's power radiation range. This is an ability Cortana developed.
"Hmm? The dream stone can be used like that?" Batman thought in surprise.
This was a new discovery.
Then Martian Manhunter offered his opinion.
"Physical and property losses can be repaired through dreams, but what about psychological damage?"
Ah, coming from him, that question sounded particularly convincing.
But Dane just looked at him strangely: "Ron, haven't you ever had a nightmare?"
It's already been stated that it's a dream. Some people still genuinely believe it's virtual reality. When you wake up and know it was just a dream, would you still develop psychological issues?
It's usually the other way around.
Martian Manhunter fell silent, apparently understanding the meaning.
"The Justice League's next mission is to round up all the parasites. I have a premonition they will make their move again very soon."
Just as he said, the "parasites" saw the message released by the Justice League and began to stir.
"Do you really intend to do this? This is not a good idea."
"We've already been exposed; there's no time to waste. Since it has to be done sooner or later, why not start now!"
"This is too fast. With our current capabilities, we simply cannot contend with the Justice League."
"They have already left the United States."
"Do you really believe those lies?"
"They moved to Kahndaq."
"Hmm? What did you say?"
"I said, they moved to Kahndaq."
"How do you know this?"
"Ever since I learned of the Atlantis mission's failure, I thought of a new method. magic power doesn't necessarily have to be theirs; there are more secrets on Earth than we initially imagined."
"What did you do?"
"Do you know there's a black magic ritual on Earth?"
0 for fresh flowers 0
"Damn it! How could you dabble in such a thing?"
"Do not fear, my compatriot. Why do you fear demons like humans?"
"Do you understand the power you are using?"
"Then do you understand your enemy's power?"
"I hope you truly understand this decision… Free will is truly a troublesome thing… Watch your words!"
Then the discussion ended, and silence returned to the scene… After more than ten hours of long-distance travel, Harcourt finally found the place mentioned in the material.
This place was extremely desolate, not looking like it was inhabited, but Harcourt knew that someone lived in seclusion here.
Before coming here, she had considered many possibilities, but each time, her answer was the same.
"Doctor Fate."
He was once the Justice Society's most powerful Super Hero, but now he was confined here, isolated from the World.
However, judging by Checkmate's investigation into Hawkman's whereabouts, it was clear that Doctor Fate was not as indifferent to worldly affairs as they had thought.
Harcourt had once heard Amanda speak of her rise to power; she had relied on persistent nagging to get Hawkman to come out of retirement.
Now, although Hawkman's relationship with Checkmate was poor, and he no longer trusted Amanda as he once did, he still occasionally cooperated with the authorities.
From this perspective, Amanda's actions back then were undoubtedly successful; she simply failed to maintain her core support.
Harcourt hoped she could replicate her success story.
Walking through a dense jungle, she arrived before a tower.
She had thought it was just a small lighthouse, but she didn't expect it to be so large it was almost a castle.
Harcourt wanted to go up and knock on the door, but as soon as she raised her hand, the door opened.
Behind the door stood an elderly man with white hair, but his overall condition didn't make him seem old; he had the complexion of a man in his prime.
Only the melancholy in his eyes seemed to never dissipate.
This was a charming old handsome man, even in his old age.
"Emilia Harcourt, out of 156 possibilities, your probability of coming here was the lowest."
"But you still came."
With that, he walked into the tower.
Harcourt hurriedly followed, and the door closed automatically behind her.
She carefully followed the old man, observing her surroundings.
Numerous artworks hung on the walls, and some medieval-style armor was displayed along the sides of the path. This place felt like it wasn't modern society; there wasn't a single electrical appliance.
Harcourt tentatively asked, "Excuse me, are you Doctor Fate?"
The old man led her to a reception room, courteously invited her to sit down, and then offered her a freshly brewed cup of black tea.
How strange, he seemed to know I would come.
The tea was just the right temperature. Harcourt took a shallow sip and then set it down.
It was then that the old man spoke: "My name is Kent Nelson. Only when I wear the helmet of fate am I Doctor Fate."
