KELLAN WARD
A week passed before Kellan was allowed out of the cage. Eventually daily trips expanded from the house to the city to the company.
Weeks after Aurora had captured him, she freed him and dismantled the cage.
Kellan stayed in the house because he had nowhere else to go. For reasons he couldn't understand, he'd put everything he owned in his wife's name.
Because, according to Aurora, he loved her the most.
Maybe he had. Or maybe she wanted to believe he'd once felt deep love for her. Truthfully, he remembered nearly everything about his life except loving Aurora.
When he thought about his wife, fragments floated through his mind. Just flashes: watching butterflies dance in the night sky, trying to feed her medicine in the same cage he'd lived in, her shy smile when he offered her a sweet, her red-faced screams as she threw a teacup at him.
