Chapter 8 - Muddy Waters

A week later…

Late at night, the reception hall of the hybrid Vampire stronghold was covered with dozens of 'vampire bibles', each with different text.

As the leader of the hybrid Vampires, Deacon Frost meticulously inspected each vampire bible.

"High-speed machinery entering Detroit? What the hell is this even writing?!" Deacon Frost's mouth twitched uncontrollably, veins bulged on his forehead, and his chest heaved.

Although old Rocco's craftsmanship was superb, he didn't understand Vampire script very well, so he produced some peculiar sentence structures when forging the vampire bibles.

Deacon's gaze swept over all the vampire bibles, then he let out a roar.

"Fake! These vampire bibles are all fake! Fuck!"

The vampire bibles collected by his subordinates were all fakes, which made Mr. Deacon Frost quite angry.

After his rage subsided, Deacon began to ponder who would do such a thing.

"Blade?" Deacon frowned, recalling his most suspicious enemy.

Blade was well-known in Vampire circles; he hated all Vampires, and in recent years, the number of Vampires who had died by his hand was probably close to a thousand.

There were only tens of thousands of Vampires in all of America; if Blade continued to kill them day and night, the entire U.S. Vampire population would likely suffer heavy losses.

Thus, Blade became a person Deacon was determined to kill.

In these days, Deacon had also been constantly investigating Blade, trying to grasp everything about him.

Moreover, Deacon's plan also required Blade, the Daywalker.

"No, it shouldn't be Blade." Deacon calmed down.

This kind of behavior, throwing fake goods everywhere, was definitely not something Blade would do. If Blade wanted to kill a certain Vampire, he would kill his way through the target's contact list that very night, and would never do something so transparently deceptive.

Deacon's gaze was cold, as if he was about to explode and kill at any moment. He looked at Quinn, his capable subordinate, and asked:

"Has a new hunter appeared in New York recently?"

"It seems so." Quinn nodded, "The guys downstairs said that a hunter wearing a fox mask has been appearing recently, but he's very fast, only one of our subordinates managed to photograph him."

"Give me the photo." Deacon commanded.

"Yes."

Upon receiving the order, Quinn handed over the photo.

Deacon took the photo and began to examine it carefully.

The photo was very blurry, likely accidentally captured by a surveillance camera. In the photo, a hunter wearing a dark combat suit, a red and white fox mask, and holding a dagger was preparing to leave.

"A fox? You really chose an animal suited for you." Deacon's fingers tightened on the photo, his eyes filled with a hatred that wished he could devour the other party.

At this moment, Deacon found a breakthrough. He immediately gave the order, "Find this guy for me! The real thing must be in his hands!"

"Understood, boss." As Deacon's order was given, Quinn photocopied the photo many times and distributed it as a wanted poster.

Anyone with a clue could come to collect a reward. Even if they killed this guy, they could get tens of thousands of dollars, and catching him alive would yield even more rewards.

Hours later, five hybrid Vampires on Harley motorcycles were patrolling the streets. They had received a photo and a hint from their superior.

"Dead or alive, a bonus of tens of thousands."

Money ignited their desire. They didn't understand why this You-Know-Who was worth so much money, they only knew that this money was enough to make them ecstatic!

"Boss, let's go catch this guy too!" A Vampire with a Mohawk haircut whistled.

The others' eyes also held an uncontainable fervor, and the leading Vampire was also greedy.

"In that case, boys, let's go!" The biker Vampire's eyes lit up, then he twisted the motorcycle throttle, preparing to search for the You-Know-Who on the wanted poster.

However, just then, a red racing motorcycle stopped in front of the Vampires.

The rider of the red motorcycle looked up, revealing the fox mask.

"Are you looking for me?" Ailer's ghostly voice sounded.

At this moment, a hint of fanaticism appeared in the eyes of the five biker Vampires. They hadn't expected the target to come to them. In their eyes, Ailer's image had already transformed into stacks of banknotes.

'Gulp——'

One of them swallowed, and Ailer noticed the small movement.

"If you want to catch me, then come!" As Ailer's voice fell, he twisted the throttle. The Propulsion Vanguard beneath him roared, then shot out like a meteor.

"Chase!" Seeing this, the five biker Vampires immediately twisted their throttles, trying to catch up with Ailer.

The five roughly modified motorcycles emitted ear-splitting roars, releasing black smoke as they gave chase.

The six motorcycles weaved through the city, but no matter how hard the five street motorcycles twisted their throttles, they showed no sign of catching up.

The Propulsion Vanguard was a mechanical vehicle summoned by the Booster Buckle, capable of reaching a speed of three hundred thirty-three kilometers per hour. Its body hardness was higher than that of modern tanks while effectively reducing air resistance.

In addition, as an advanced machine summoned by future technology, the Propulsion Vanguard did not use oil or electricity as energy, but a system called the "BST-XM6000" methanation engine.

This system could combine carbon dioxide and hydrogen to synthesize methane through a methanation system, allowing the Propulsion Vanguard to recycle the carbon dioxide produced by engine combustion, making exhaust emissions infinitely close to Zero.

Ailer deliberately kept the five Vampires behind him on a leash. After driving for dozens of kilometers, Ailer stopped in an alley.

The five Vampires who had chased him thought Ailer's vehicle had run out of fuel, and one of the Vampires even shouted:

"We finally caught up to you. Tell us, are you going to tie your own hands and feet, or should we break your hands and feet?"

"No need." Ailer stretched his neck. His right hand took out the Desire Driver with the Geats ID Core installed, then he replied, "Because before that, I will break your spines, HenShin!"

As Ailer's voice fell, the Driver was buckled onto his waist, and the armor completed its donning in an instant.

With the fox mask buckled onto his face and a White scarf fluttering in the wind, Ailer began his hunt for the night.

"I need to teach you something, you filthy nocturnal monsters, and that is: a true hunter appears in the form of the prey."

When Ailer finished speaking, the five Vampires all felt a powerful sense of oppression.
