Chapter 17 - I Have a Plan

Some time later, Chad Norma flew back to their lair.

His injuries had healed on the way back, but the confidence Chad Norma had lost was difficult to restore.

Chad Norma received several bags of blood plasma from the servant who specifically came to greet him. After draining all of them, he asked the servant:

"Where is my father?"

"The Supreme Grand Duke is waiting for you in his room," the servant respectfully replied, "Please allow me to help you change your clothes first."

Subsequently, with the help of the servant, Chad Norma took off his armor, revealing his true appearance.

Chad Norma had a body nearly two meters tall, with bulging muscles all over. His iron-gray skin was unusual even among Vampires, and his bald head, coupled with his sharp features, exuded an even stronger killing intent.

After changing into a loose set of clothes, Chad Norma went to see his father.

Walking through a dark corridor, Chad Norma finally saw his father.

The Supreme Grand Duke Ailer Damaskinos was reading an ancient book made of human skin. He was deeply engrossed, and the book vividly described a ritual.

"What's wrong, my child?" After a long while, the Supreme Grand Duke finally looked at his eldest son.

Chad Norma lowered his head and replied shamefully, "I failed, Father."

After Chad Norma finished speaking, the atmosphere in the room immediately turned cold. However, the Supreme Grand Duke did not punish his child; instead, he walked over to him and softly said,

"It seems the enemy who stopped us is very powerful."

"Father, please give me another chance! I will definitely cut off the heads of those two hunters!" Chad Norma, whose pride had been wounded, quickly said.

When Chad Norma was just born, his father had placed high hopes on him, believing him to be the savior who could rescue the Blood Race. Countless resources were poured onto him, so Chad Norma had always been very confident.

Until this confidence was shattered by Ailer and Blade.

"Failure is not shameful, my child," the Supreme Grand Duke patted his eldest son's shoulder and then said,

"The key is whether you can remember the disgrace and wash it all away."

Listening to his father's earnest teachings, Chad Norma nodded. His gaze became firm, and he straightened his back again, then promised his father,

"I will heed your teachings, Father."

"This is my son." The Supreme Grand Duke's face, like an old tree, moved slightly, looking very pleased. He looked at his biological son in front of him and softly said,

"You don't need to cut off both their heads. I need one Daywalker alive; the other is yours to deal with as you please."

"Yes, Father!" Chad Norma replied. With his father's permission, he dared to do anything now.

"Go, my child, go and accumulate strength for the coming decisive battle, not just for the family, but for the future of our Blood Race."

"Yes, for everything of the Blood Race, I will not lose!"

The Supreme Grand Duke's words seemed to carry a certain magic, making Chad Norma extremely resolute.

The impact Ailer had on his confidence earlier vanished at this moment, replaced by a surge of determination.

...

Meanwhile, at Blade's Base.

Blade brought back some of the thorn whip fragments and gave them to a black woman.

The black woman's name was Jen Ketlin. She was a Doctor who had been attacked and bitten by a Vampire a few days ago. Fortunately, the wound was not deep, and the Vampire had not yet had time to fully infect her. Blade brought her to the Base and used garlic essence to suppress her transformation into a Vampire.

But even so, Jen Ketlin only had a few months left. Once the time was up, she would still become a hybrid Vampire. To save herself, Jen Ketlin chose to stay here and research a serum to cure herself.

The 'professional' Blade mentioned was also her.

Jen Ketlin placed the thorn whip fragments under a microscope and observed them carefully. Soon after, she came to a conclusion.

"The owner of this fragment is simply a monster. Even after leaving the main body, this fragment remains active."

"You're right, that truly is a monster. If we don't find the mastermind, more such monsters will appear."

Blade had now removed all his equipment and was sitting on a chair, receiving bandaging from Whistler. Although his strength was much greater than that of purebred Vampires, his self-healing ability was much weaker, so bandages helped better stop the bleeding.

"Next time we meet, I won't let him escape." Ailer, still wearing his fox mask, was unwilling. This time he used a berserk zombie, which had no flying ability, allowing Chad Norma to escape with his life.

At this moment, Jen Ketlin compared Chad Norma's cell fragments with those of other Vampires' cell fragments, finally reaching a conclusion.

"This type of cell is more aggressive. If it is placed with other Vampire cells, it will devour the other cells completely."

"This kind of monster would absolutely not appear naturally among Vampires," Blade said with certainty. "He is definitely a product of artificial modification. Can you find his gene sequence?"

Jen Ketlin shook her head and said somewhat troubled, "Not here. We don't have such precise instruments. Even if we did, it would require a very long testing time, and I'm afraid by the time I find a clue, he will come after you again."

"She's right, we don't have much time left," Whistler finished bandaging Blade, then stood up and said,

"Don't forget what the Vampires are going to do."

Now all the Vampires in New York want to perform a ritual to create the blood god, which only exists in legends.

Thanks to the vampire bible Ailer obtained by chance, Blade also knew that if the Vampires were to perform the ritual, they would need twelve purebred Vampires and one Daywalker.

Blade was the only Daywalker in the entire World right now, which meant that all the Vampires in New York… even in the entire U.S., would come looking for them.

"But Vampires are very invested in the blood god ritual, so even the mastermind behind the creation of that new type of Vampire will definitely bring his monster to the ritual site," Blade suggested. "So, you two first put a locator in my body, and then I will deliberately make a mistake and hand myself, this Daywalker, over to them."

"That way we can catch all the Vampires in one fell swoop?" Ailer continued.

Upon hearing this, Whistler shook his head, "It's too risky, Blade, you can't do that. If they put you on the sacrificial altar, you will lose at least two-thirds of your blood, and you might die!"

"It's fine, I want to die while I still consider myself human," Blade said calmly, as if death was a release for him. He grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth, then looked at Ailer and said,

"Besides, we have a strong young man here."

"You think I can kill all the Vampires?" Ailer was somewhat surprised by Blade's trust in him.

"Yes," Blade replied.

"However, I have a safer plan. Would you like to hear it?" Ailer smiled slightly, filling in the gaps in the plan.
