Chapter 18 - I'm Your Mom

"Tell me about it." Blade's gaze fell on Ailer.

"You can restore your strength by supplementing high-quality fresh blood, Blade." Ailer pointed to himself, then said, "Right in front of you, there's a rather excellent source of blood."

When Ailer had a physical examination in high school, the Doctor didn't find anything. His blood was common Type O, healthier than other students' blood, but otherwise, his blood was no different from ordinary people's.

"…" Blade pondered for a moment.

"My lady, can you turn my blood into a special serum, preferably one that can be hidden in boots?" At this moment, Ailer looked at Jen Ketlin and asked her the question.

"It's possible, but if too much blood is drawn, it might affect your body," Jen Ketlin replied.

"Not too much," Whistler interjected. "Blade's body doesn't need that much blood. With other nutrients, about two hundred milliliters should be enough to turn him back into a lively brat."

After so many years of teaching and cooperation, Whistler had long regarded Blade as a family member, so he was unwilling to see Blade take risks.

After listening to his companions, Ailer looked at Blade and asked, "Now, what do you think?"

"Of course, to continue living in this damn world." A hint of a smile appeared on Blade's stern face. Then, he changed the subject and said to Ailer,

"I won't use your blood for nothing, so before the final battle arrives, I will train you non-stop to enhance your strength."

"My pleasure." Ailer smiled slightly, accepting Blade's proposal.

This body still had a lot of untapped potential. To kill that artificial Vampire the next time he encountered them, Ailer was willing to use all acceptable means to improve his strength.

"Before that, let him cooperate with me first." Before training, Jen Ketlin pulled Ailer away. After drawing two hundred milliliters of blood, she finally let Ailer go.

After having his blood drawn by Jen Ketlin, Ailer only drank a bottle of electrolyte drink and ate a few high-calorie snacks before becoming lively again. The usual languid state of people after blood drawing did not manifest in Ailer at all.

"He's truly a strange person. He just had blood drawn, yet with just a little energy replenishment, he can perform high-intensity physical activity," Jen Ketlin remarked, looking at Ailer, who was already sparring with Blade with a stick.

At this moment, Whistler, who was still smoking, spoke, "As long as he stands on the human side, we don't need to worry too much. By the way, are you free? Can you help me with some new equipment?"

"I'm busy for now." Jen Ketlin shook her head, then explained, "Those strange cells have inspired me. Perhaps I can create an antitoxin serum."

"Alright, if you really manage to create a serum that stops the Vampire transformation process, then you'll be doing a good deed."

Upon hearing this, Whistler extinguished his cigarette and then turned to his studio, beginning to process a pile of strange spherical objects.

Thus, Ailer entered a routine of training with Blade during the day and exercising alone at night, while Blade would go out at night, intentionally revealing his movements for the Vampires to discover.

… … … … … … … … … … … … …

Four days later, at night, in the building rented by Deacon Frost.

Deacon listened to Quinn's report while watching his subordinates revel in the swimming pool.

"Blade has been very active these past two days. Several strongholds have already been taken down by him," Quinn said, frowning.

Hybrid Vampires usually met their demise when encountering Blade; even Quinn, Deacon Frost's deputy, was almost killed by Blade.

"The path to change will not lack sacrifice," Deacon said with a cold face. "I will remember their contributions."

"But how do we catch Blade? He's too strong," Quinn asked, troubled.

"He will come himself," Deacon confidently raised his head. "With Blade's ability, he will definitely find this place himself."

"So that's why you've been frequently contacting other colleagues recently?" Quinn thought of a possibility.

Deacon Frost was intentionally providing clues to Blade, deliberately luring Blade to come.

And those fellow Vampires… were probably being used as consumables by Deacon Frost.

However, Quinn didn't care about Deacon Frost's methods; he only cared about his own interests.

So, Quinn didn't expose Deacon, but instead asked, "Then, My Lord, how do you plan to catch Blade?"

"I know him very well." Deacon Frost turned slightly, his gaze falling on a room made entirely of transparent glass.

Inside the room, there was only a bed, and a black woman was resting with her eyes closed. If one looked closely, this black woman strongly resembled Blade, like a mother and son.

Deacon clasped his hands behind his back, then laughed mockingly, "Speaking of which, he even has to call me father, hahahaha!"

"…" Quinn remained silent. Let the boss be crazy, as long as it didn't affect him.

… … … … … … … … … … … … … …

Soon after, Blade stood downstairs of the building. He could smell the nauseating stench inside the building.

"This is it." A hint of killing intent flashed in Blade's eyes, then he drew his sword and entered the building.

"It's the Daywalker!"

As soon as he entered the main door, Blade heard a scream-like voice. The next moment, several fully armed Vampire guards rushed forward.

Looking at the enemies before him, Blade drew the long sword from his back. The gleaming silver blade was more terrifying than the God of Death's scythe in the Vampires' eyes.

"A bunch of unteachable fools."

With that, Blade charged towards the Vampires. Every swing of his long sword took a Vampire's life.

Thus, Blade fought his way from the first floor to the top floor.

When Blade arrived at the top floor, he didn't see a single Vampire. So, he searched room by room until he found a room with a 'coffin' in it.

As Blade arrived, the coffin lid slowly opened, revealing a woman who was resting.

The woman opened her eyes, and the first person she saw was Blade. She was surprised at first, then uttered a name.

"Eric?"

This was Blade's real name. He looked at the woman who had called out his name and asked in disbelief,

"Mother?"

Screech—

The person behind the scenes didn't give Blade a chance to reminisce. A strong current passed through the floor, knocking Blade unconscious.

After shocking Blade several more times, Deacon finally emerged from behind the scenes. "What a touching mother-son reunion, but you have a more valuable place, Daywalker, and your companions should die too."

At the same time, a group of Vampires rushed into Whistler's garage, but there was nothing there. All the equipment had been moved out in advance, and only one person was waiting for them.

"I've been waiting for you for a long time." Ailer grinned. Thirsty as he was, he didn't even transform. He simply picked up his silver dagger and modified pistol and charged into the fight.
