"Clan head?!" Danzo was shocked and enraged. Could it really be that teenage Uchiha clan head? Impossible. Weren't two top geniuses—Itachi Uchiha and Shisui Uchiha—already enough? How could there be another, Uchiha Musashi? Was heaven itself siding with the Uchiha? Clearly he had done nothing wrong. The Uchiha truly were a dangerous clan.
"It's nothing, Anmie. I'm the one who's late. It took some time, but I've already dealt with those pesky bugs on the left." Only then did Danzo see the newcomer's face clearly. It was indeed that teenage Uchiha clan head.
Except Musashi's appearance didn't look good now. Though there wasn't blood on him, the thick, nauseating stench of blood carried across dozens of meters to Danzo.
But with a stench that heavy, why hadn't his sensory ninja noticed for so long? Not just the guard—even Danzo himself had sensed nothing.
To mask blood reek that strong—so the earlier report was actually true. This Uchiha Musashi really did have the ability to go toe-to-toe with Itachi Uchiha.
The Uchiha truly never lacked for talent.
But what did he mean by "bugs on the left"? Coupled with that heavy stench, as if a massacre had just happened... Could it be—those sent to the left were the most elite unit. How could a single person— An ominous premonition rose in Danzo's heart.
If Danzo had played real Dynasty Warriors, he might have understood—if the gap in strength is too great, then "one versus a thousand" happens.
Besides, Root's shinobi on that flank weren't anywhere near a thousand.
He was right. Musashi alone had killed every last Root shinobi on the left.
Otherwise, leaving all Root shinobi to the other Uchiha to handle would've been difficult. The Uchiha survivors were still too few.
Even with many elites, it wouldn't be enough to handle such a large Root force. But Musashi was different. The gap between Musashi and the other Uchiha was enormous. Even without using his Mangekyo, Musashi could casually butcher those Root shinobi.
That meticulously cultivated, near-perfect body of the Naruto world—not a joke.
In absolute power he still lagged behind top monsters like Madara and Hashirama, but dealing with mere Root shinobi was easy.
Of course, it still took time, and Anmie's goal had been to buy Musashi that time.
Danzo's character disgusted Musashi, but Danzo was undeniably a genuine Kage-level powerhouse.
If he had joined the battle on the right, the remaining Uchiha might have suffered another large reduction. Musashi didn't want that. He now had complete control of the Uchiha, and every Uchiha had a chance to evolve a Mangekyo—losing even one hurt.
As for transplanting a Sharingan to upgrade to Mangekyo? Reaching three tomoe is already the limit. Did they all think they were Kakashi—blessed with a best friend like Obito to share an eye with?
With the left's most elite Root shinobi dealt with, those on the right were at most a few jonin, a handful of special jonin, and a crowd of elite chunin. Given the strength of the remaining Uchiha on the right, they could completely steamroll them.
"I said—move your filthy hoof off my subordinate. Didn't you hear me?" Seeing Danzo's foot still on Uchiha Anmie, Musashi finally grew angry.
"Careful, Lord Danzo!" Musashi launched his attack without hesitation.
One slash—just a simple slash—and Danzo felt there was no way to avoid it. His hands, feet, and body couldn't move for some reason. He could only watch as that silver-edged blade swept toward him.
"Che. Danzo, to think someone would die for a man like you—it shocks me." Musashi's blade was stopped—though not parried. Someone had used his own body to block the fatal blow for Danzo.
Musashi wrenched the silver blade free of the Root shinobi's body and lashed out with a vicious kick, booting both away from Anmie.
"Lord Danzo..." The Root shinobi died shortly after. Musashi's blade wasn't ordinary. It was a famed demon blade, one Musashi had spent quite some effort to obtain. What's more, that blade had nearly cleaved the shinobi in two—surviving even a moment was testimony to his tenacity.
The blade's original name: Myōhō Muramasa—also known as the Demon Blade Muramasa.
"Despicable—you used genjutsu on me!" Danzo seemed utterly unaffected by his subordinate's death—even though the man died to save him.
"Laughable. As an Uchiha, why shouldn't I use genjutsu? Despicable? I'm not even one ten-thousandth as despicable as you, Lord Danzo. No—calling you despicable insults the word. You're just filthy and foul." Musashi shot an indifferent glance at the furious Danzo, hauled Anmie aside, and spoke casually.
To other shinobi, Danzo was indeed a powerful Kage-level fighter. To other Uchiha—including a peak-form Anmie—Danzo was undoubtedly formidable.
But to Musashi, Danzo truly wasn't much.
First, Danzo had no exclusive kekkei genkai—at most some knockoffs. For example, Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan, which he wielded like a dull knife; the transplanted Sharingan on his arm, useful only for Izanagi; and a bootleg Wood Release no different from Yamato's—one that nearly wrecked his own body.
In the original, he survived Sasuke only thanks to Izanagi's pseudo-immortality. Otherwise he'd have died early. With eleven Sharingan, he effectively "died" over ten times—and still didn't win.
Second, Danzo wasn't some explosively gifted prodigy. He barely piled himself up to Kage-level with a heap of miscellaneous tricks. He's fine against ordinary foes. Against a proper Kage—forget it.
Third, for some reason—despite so many years—Danzo had few signature secret arts or forbidden jutsu. Self-Curse Sealing: Curse Mandala was okay—but only okay.
He possessed Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, and Yin natures—sounds impressive, but useless in practice.
The only thing he could truly wield was Wind Release—about on par with Orochimaru's—but Orochimaru's toolbox of secret and forbidden arts was overwhelming. His Earth Release was slick as well.
Most ironically, he had a legendary summoning—Baku—and still tried to "duke it out" up front.
A dream eater, not a man-eater. In the end, that legendary special ability was used for a frontal slugfest and got taken out.
Conclusion: Musashi truly didn't fear Danzo. Danzo could hurt him less than Kakuzu. Notice later, even with Impure World Reincarnation, no one bothered to summon Danzo—there was no point.
If Orochimaru could free souls from the Reaper Death Seal, there's no reason he couldn't undo a Four Symbols Seal. The only conclusion: Danzo wasn't worth it.
"Damn it... huff... too fast—my body can't keep up." Without more words, Danzo quickly engaged Musashi.
The result surprised no one—Musashi completely pressed Danzo.
Just his swordsmanship alone left Danzo scrambling. To be fair, a tachi is perfect for looking cool.
For the record, Musashi had realized his swordsmanship himself. For Meruem, swordplay is something you can copy the gist of with one look—but that's only the basics. Musashi spent years honing it to this level of mastery.
With the Demon Blade Muramasa and this sword art, Uchiha Musashi was enough to swagger across the ninja world.
Ultimately, Danzo was old—nearly seventy. His body's functions had dropped sharply. Consider his contemporaries—Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado, Konoha's advisors—whether they even had elite-jonin strength now was debatable.
They didn't have Tsunade's heaven-defying maintenance, nor the Senju or Uzumaki's massive vitality reserves.
"Damn! Shisui's Sharingan genjutsu doesn't work on him." Without Uchiha blood or monstrous talent, Danzo couldn't wield the Sharingan to full effect.
Against a proper Uchiha, he suffered badly in genjutsu. He had a Sharingan—and so did the opponent, who ran a Mangekyo with no strain. Meanwhile, activating his own drained his body heavily.
With a wet "puff," Danzo's body was run through by that demon blade.
"Hmph. I know you're not dead. Get up. Izanagi may transfer damage, but if I reduce your body to nothing and tear your soul apart—do you think you can 'revive'?" Musashi said, looking at Danzo with disgust.
"I didn't expect you to know... You are indeed strong. I am not your match." Exposed, Danzo stopped pretending. He unwrapped the bandages from his right arm and right eye, revealing rows of Sharingan.
He didn't have eleven like in the original—only six in total. No—now only five remained, because one had closed forever.
Which meant that if Musashi killed Danzo five more times, Danzo would die for good.
