Chapter 93 - Chapter 93: Root Annihilated

"Truly nauseating. I can't help wanting to kill you." Although he'd long known Danzo had Sharingan embedded in his right arm, seeing it in the flesh still made one uncomfortable. Luckily, Musashi didn't have OCD or trypophobia; faced with that row of eyes, he only felt a bit uneasy.

"Hmph, if you want to kill me, let's see if you have the ability." Though Musashi had already killed him once, Danzo didn't believe he had no chance at all.

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough." Compared with Orochimaru's point-focused, destructive Wind Release, Danzo's covered a much wider area.

You could see it from his fight with Sasuke in the original: Danzo's Wind Release had a broad range, yet its lethality wasn't weak.

Wind Release ninjutsu was also the only thing Danzo could really take pride in.

A massive Wind Release surged down on Musashi like a tidal wave. No wonder he, like Kakuzu, was an old-line Kage—he did have some skill.

"Don't move." Holding the Demon Blade Muramasa, Musashi gripped the blade sideways with both hands, taking on a strange slashing stance.

In that stance, he stood rock-steady within Danzo's Wind Release. Even as many trees around him were blown down, Musashi seemed completely unaffected.

Chakra focused under his feet? Even so, the suction was quite strong. An ordinary shinobi couldn't do what Musashi did—nor could a swordsman who specialized in kenjutsu—they'd just get blown away by the Wind Release.

In the original, even Sasuke only barely held out thanks to Susanoo.

"Summoning: Baku!" Seeing his Wind Release couldn't move Musashi, Danzo called for help. Facing Musashi alone really was a bit much.

The summoning beast Baku possessed extremely powerful Wind Release, able to open its maw and use Wind Release to suck in and devour what was in front of it. But as a dream-eating phantom beast, Baku's forte was combining with genjutsu.

Its physical defense, however, didn't seem great—Sasuke one-shot it with a Great Fireball in the original.

As always—using a special-ability summon like Baku for a frontal slugfest is just brainless.

The long-trunked Baku appeared and immediately unleashed powerful Wind Release, ravenously sucking at Uchiha Musashi's position.

Its power was in no way inferior to Danzo's Wind Release just now.

But the affected area was even larger than Danzo's.

Helpless, Uchiha Musashi had to maintain his previous stance.

"Hmph, Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves!" Let's see where you run now! Countless wind blades tore toward Musashi, determined not to stop until he'd been sliced to ribbons.

"Enough. I'm done playing." Wind Release is a kind of energy too—and up against Uchiha Musashi's near-unsolvable Mangekyo ability—

Unless you're a taijutsu type, even Obito's Kamui might not avail you against Musashi.

Spatial abilities are special energy too.

Before the wind blades even reached him, they were absorbed by Musashi's right eye.

"Since you like eating so much... have some of this! Amaterasu!" If he had the Sharingan open anyway, Musashi didn't mind giving this Baku a lesson it would never forget.

Though the black flames of Amaterasu he released weren't as abundant as Itachi's, this wasn't Musashi's native Mangekyo ability to begin with.

Being able to cast it at all was already impressive. Moreover, Amaterasu's power is to burn unceasingly until the target is completely consumed; its quantity doesn't really matter.

A Baku that couldn't even withstand a Great Fireball certainly couldn't withstand Amaterasu. The black flames, following Baku's massive suction, flew straight into its body.

Amaterasu is notorious for only extinguishing after burning its target to nothing. Once it flew into Baku's belly...

Amid a piercing scream, the Baku Danzo had summoned instantly turned into smoke and vanished into the air. It probably returned to the summoning realm severely wounded—but even there, Amaterasu's flames wouldn't go out.

"Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere!" Transparent balls the size of basketballs—compressed air that could cause significant damage. Its destructive power wasn't much less than Shukaku's Air Bullets, and this time there were many.

"I already said this won't work on me. Let me show you what a genius looks like. Even with just swordsmanship, I can cleave apart your precious Wind Release." Musashi held the Demon Blade Muramasa horizontally and slashed diagonally across a Vacuum Great Sphere.

If an ordinary shinobi tried that, all you could say is it would end with a broken blade and a broken man. Compressed-air spheres aren't easily cut.

Even if you could cut them, you'd more likely be injured by the explosion of the compressed air. It's compressed air—its principle is the same as an air cannon. Compress it to a certain degree and it will explode upon impact. That explosive force is one of the jutsu's killing powers.

But if your kenjutsu reaches a certain level, and your control over force reaches an extremely high realm, you can split an air sphere without letting it explode.

Like cutting a flowing waterfall—that takes extraordinary mastery.

Clearly, Musashi could do it.

Truly worthy of being Meruem's clone—the strongest of them.

Danzo's Vacuum Great Spheres were sliced to nothing in the air by Musashi without causing a ripple.

In the same breath, Musashi's demon blade bit into Danzo again.

"Cough... cough... Never thought... after the White Fang, I'd see another master swordsman. Your power is in no way inferior to the White Fang's." Another Sharingan on Danzo's arm closed.

If only Musashi's swordsmanship could reach Artoria Pendragon's. In the Fate/stay night Fate route, when Artoria—Saber, the ahoge king—fought Heracles, whose Noble Phantasm "God Hand" gave him twelve lives, she unscientifically cut down seven in a single strike.

One sword, seven lives.

And she didn't spend chakra for a tricky Izanagi like Danzo—Heracles revived full HP and full status each time.

By comparison, if Musashi had that level of swordsmanship, Danzo probably couldn't withstand even one blow.

Four left.

"That side should be wrapped up too." Ignoring Danzo, panting from overconsumption of chakra, Musashi glanced toward the right where Root had headed earlier and muttered to himself.

"Let's finish you in one go. I still want to get some sleep." He pointed the demon blade at Danzo again.

Frankly, Danzo didn't have a shred of a chance now. From start to finish, Musashi hadn't even gotten serious.

"Then taste this Konoha kenjutsu—Dance of the Crescent Moon!"

Another Sharingan on Danzo's arm closed.

"Iai Slash!" The draw cut—basic, but godly when mastered.

Two left.

"Damn it—Lord Danzo, leave this guy to me!" At some point, the Root bodyguard who'd been badly injured earlier hurled himself at Musashi, heedless of his life.

Unfortunately, he hadn't been Musashi's match to begin with—let alone injured now. Like the bodyguard who'd blocked the blade for Danzo earlier, he was casually beheaded by a single stroke.

"Danzo, die under the Uchiha's Fire Release—Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!" The massive fireball, like a small sun from his bout with Itachi, appeared again.

This time, with his stamina spent, Danzo couldn't even dodge a jutsu of that level. Having lots of lives without recovery is useless—like comparing Majin Buu to a Namekian. One revives casually and recovers instantly—no matter how long you fight, he's back to full in moments. The other regrows a severed arm at the cost of massive stamina—the longer the fight, the weaker he gets.

Now, Danzo had only one Sharingan left—Shisui's eye.

"Behold my Wood Release!" Even so, Danzo wouldn't give up. His ambition hadn't reached its end—he hadn't become Hokage!

"Don't make me laugh... you call that Wood Release?" With ease, Musashi cut apart Danzo's knockoff Wood Release and sneered.

Though the First's Wood Release is said to be the fusion of Water and Earth Release, that doesn't mean you can use Wood Release just by combining them. Transplanting Hashirama Senju's cells is a way—but it depends on whether the cells reject you.

Danzo, who'd nearly been devoured by the First's cells, could never wield Hashirama's full Wood Release.

What he managed was about Yamato's level—just for show. Slightly stronger than other elemental jutsu, but far inferior to the original Wood Release—still useless against Musashi.

It couldn't stop Muramasa at all.

At that moment, the right side of the Uchiha compound finally stirred. Dozens of figures vaulted over roofs to Musashi's side.

Just as expected, the ones still standing were the other Uchiha.

"Leader, the mission is complete. The Root on the right have been wiped out." The speaker was Uchiha Xi.

"Cough... cough... Never thought I'd die here. But for Konoha's peace, I will never let you walk out of here alive." Seeing the surrounding Uchiha, even Danzo's last glimmer of hope died.

He knew—Root was finished. All his elite units had been annihilated tonight. Even if he lived, there was no point—that was the work of decades.

Danzo tore open his clothes like a madman, revealing the seals beneath.

A jutsu no weaker than the Reaper Death Seal—Reverse Four Symbols Seal.

But Musashi watched with interest, mockery in his eyes.

"Heh. If you can even use it. You think this Demon Blade Muramasa is only sharp? It's a true demon blade."

The world spun. That was the last thing Danzo heard before he shut his eyes.
