I'm sorry honey, lila said coming out of kitchen, while eating her breakfast the other morning, she continued, I know we're planning the long night drive but you know, I'm not just feeling well..
You'll be completely okay babe, let's finalize our outfits and start planning to go out..but at that moment we both heard something
Him
jangleling his keys. That low, dangerous sound.
I slipped out barefoot, half-daring myself, half-terrified, and found him leaning against his car like he owned the entire night.
I'll take you out tonight my beautiful ladies..
Your tonight's driver
He bowed
I got flustered
Lila said, now we're talking big man, giving him a high five ..
At the Night,
I wasn't ready for Lila to come running out the door, hair in a messy bun, hoodie half-zipped, yelling, "Wait up, Dad! I'm coming too."
My stomach sank. Daniel didn't flinch. He just leaned against the car, smirk curling like he'd planned this.So now we're three. Daniel driving. Lila scrolling in the backseat. Me stuck in the passenger seat, skin already too aware of him.
His palm landed on my thigh. Firm. Heavy. I stiffened, shooting him a glare, but he just looked like a guy driving his kid home...calm, focused, completely ordinary. Except his thumb was circling my bare skin, inching higher with every turn.
I swallowed hard, praying Lila's eyes stayed glued to her phone.
"Dad, can we hit the drive-thru? I'm starving," she said from the back.
"Sure, baby," he answered smoothly at the exact same moment his hand slid under the hem of my skirt.
My heart slammed against my ribs. I bit the inside of my cheek, fighting the sound that almost tore out of me.
"Fine with you, Maya?" he asked casually, voice low, fingers brushing the edge of danger.
I managed a choked, "Y-yeah."
He smirked, eyes never leaving the road. He knew exactly what he was doing making me unravel in silence while his daughter sat two feet away.
"God, the Wi-Fi sucks here," Lila groaned, tapping her phone. "I can't load anything."
Daniel's fingers pressed deeper, just enough for me to almost lose it. His lips curved as he muttered, just for me, "Guess you'll have to keep really quiet, won't you?"Heat exploded through me. Every nerve screamed to move, to squirm, to do anything but I couldn't. Lila would notice. The risk was suffocating, intoxicating. He kept me on that edge, circling, teasing, never enough to tip me over but more than enough to destroy my composure. My breath came shallow, every inhale a battle.
"Dad, why are you driving so slow?" Lila teased from the back.
"Just… enjoying the night," he replied smoothly, his fingers sliding higher, daring me to break.
And I realized right there he wasn't just teasing me. He was training me. Testing how far I'd go to keep our secret, how much I'd surrender even with his daughter inches away.
And God help me… I was failing.
Lila got out of the car to place the order and it is taking a while till then, "Dad it Will take some time till then I'm here also my friend group is calling so for a girl chat I wanna some privacy so why don't you two go and have a round till then I'll be here"..
Okay sweety, Daniel replied
"Where are we going?" I whispered.
"Wherever I want," he said, . His voice was casual, but his eyes? They already had me stripped bare.
I slid in. Tank top, skirt riding high, nothing else underneath because I knew what I was doing.
He knew too. His smirk proved it.
The engine growled to life, headlights cutting through the street. We tore down empty roads, music spilling through the speakers. I felt my pulse sync to the bass.
"You shouldn't be here," I said, testing him.
"You shouldn't be dressed like that," he shot back, eyes flicking down my legs. "But here we are."
I rolled my eyes, pretending his words didn't make my thighs press tighter together.
"Careful, Daniel. You sound like a walking red flag."
"And you sound like you love it," he countered, one hand leaving the wheel, brushing over my bare knee.
I almost told him to watch the road, but the way his thumb traced lazy circles up my thigh shut me up quick.
"Say it," he murmured, eyes on the road.
"Say what?"
"That you like me breaking every rule you were told not to."
I laughed, but it came out shaky. "You made me do it silly."
"Maybe. But you're still in my car, wearing nothing under that tiny skirt, begging me to lose control."
My cheeks heated, but not from embarrassment. It was the truth. He always saw through me, peeled me open with words sharper than touch.
The music changed, something low and pulsing, and Daniel swerved us onto an empty overpass. He cut the engine. Silence. Then he turned fully toward me, arm over the seat, gaze locking on me like a predator deciding whether to bite."You're trouble, Maya," he whispered, leaning closer. His breath smelled like whiskey and sin."You're… older," I shot back, trying to hold ground."And still the only man who makes you this wet without even touching you."My breath hitched. He smirked, knowing he'd nailed it. His hand slid higher on my thigh, stopping just shy of where I needed him.
"Daniel…" I whispered, caught between warning and begging.
"Say it," he demanded again, voice lower this time. "Say you want me to ruin you right here, in the middle of this city that would eat us alive if it knew."The car was thick with heat, with want, with the kind of danger that makes you forget your own name.
And maybe I should've pulled away. Maybe I should've thought about Lila, or Noah, or anyone else.
But on an intimate long drive with his hand inching higher, all I could think was....
God, I wanted him to.
