It's been about a week since I was born.
I've learnt many things about this place.. from what I've observed, there are multiple maids and other servants in this house.
I myself have an exclusive maid of my own. Her name's Violet– unlike her hair or eye colour.
She is really young, probably 7 years old if I'm correct. I guess child labour does exist here too, but isn't that a bit too young? Although she does do her work pretty well.
She has neck-length yellow hair and dark green eyes. For some reason, she resembles a cat and of course, she wears the signature black & white maid dress.
This place of my residence is a huge manor, filled to the brim with furniture that screams expensive. The maids and other servants all slightly bow down and greet us with respect whenever I'm carried around the house by my mother.
They're all really sweet ladies.
The woman with white hair who held me back then was my mother— the first one I've ever had, if I admit.
I was born an orphan in my past life so I never experienced what it was like to have a family.
Plus, I was always dependent on the rundown orphanage, so this rich life I'm now living felt like a dream come true. Although I do miss my world's technology..
My mother, Katheryn, always keeps an eye on me so it's really hard to do anything without being suspicious. Well, adding up all these observations and using a bit of common sense, I'm sure that I'm born in a noble's household.
I grinned at the idea of how exciting my life would be in the coming years, I'd probably be really popular and surrounded by fans by the time I grow up. Maybe I'll get a few fan girls too~
Ahem, that's enough day dreaming.
I was still just born, so I didn't have any strength or stamina to crawl much or to climb towards any windows or mirrors. This made me unable to see what type of place I was born in and how I looked.
Gosh, this is so boring… How long do I have to wait until I can do something for once? My curiosity eats up my patience. Man, I hate being an infant.
I just lay in my bed–a bed too big for a newborn child–and be taken care of by Violet when my Mother was absent. Even though it's been only a week, I've gotten comfortable around Violet surprisingly quick. Maybe it's her warm welcoming presence.
"T-Towi!"
A soft, high pitched voice spoke. The words weren't clearly pronounced. A girl, barely around 3 years old, entered my room and came waddling towards me. She had wavy medium length white hair with big, dark red eyes. Her face looked soft and round. She had porcelain, doll-like skin.
Her face carried a lovely ecstatic smile, eyes shining with affection. Her presence was filled to the brim with warmth and joy.
She looked similar to my mother. She wore a light blue skirt, with white frills around the ends of the skirt and her shoulders. She wore socks up to her knees and small brown shoes. Polished to the point you could clearly make out your face.
She came up to me, poking my face and rubbing her cheeks against mine. Stop! Stop! I'm not some stuff toy for you!
I let out noises of annoyance. My voice was very high pitched.
"Towi! Did you mish mee?"
By Towi, she meant Tori. That was my nickname my mother called me by. Unless you're extremely stupid and lack common sense…. You must've probably figured out that she's my older sister. From what I've heard Mother call her, her name is Illa. I have an older brother too. He'll come running right about now.
"Tori! I'm here!" This voice wasn't as high pitched as Illa's and he could surprisingly pronounce words much better than Illa even though he only looked an year older than her. He came running in.
He had short hair which had a light blue colour. His hair was the type which would stand out in a crowd. He had big blue eyes, a darker shade of blue than his hair. He had a round face, similar to Illa. His skin was the same as her too, that flawless porcelain skin. He wore a white shirt, tucked in his black knee-length pants. His presence seeped out nothing but trouble, yet there was a whole bunch of affection too. His short, messy hair flew behind as he came running towards my bed.
He jumped on top of the bed, teasing me by stretching my cheeks.
Gosh! It's so hard being a baby! When will I grow up! This is a violation of my privacy!
I let out a small cry.
"H-huh? Tori?!" He panicked as he looked at Illa frantically. This high spirited older brother of mine was Grey, as called by my Mother.
"Grey, you shouldn't disturb your little brother like that. He must've been sleeping."
My mother came in. She had such an elegant aura around her. She was wearing a long pink dress, with a white leather cloak on top and a brown straw hat with a golden feather attached in it. Quite fashionable if I had to say.
She grabbed me in her arms, giving me a kiss on my forehead. It made me blush a bit. I'm still not used to having a family.
"It's time to sleep, Tori.." She slightly smiled as she spoke. She then proceeded to take me to her bedroom, putting me on the bed and tucking me in the comfortable wool blanket. It felt good.
"Mommy! I wanna sweep too!" Illa declared in a loud, high pitched voice as she climbed in under the same blanket as me.
"Me! Me too! I'll sleep with mommy!" Grey climbed in too.
"Now now, don't be hasty.. you'll need to change into your sleeping attire." Mother spoke.
With one snap, she had two maids ready with a pair of lavish pajamas for both Illa and Grey. I didn't need one since, well, I'm already in a gown of mine since I was born last week.
She changed into a gown too, climbing in the bed with such elegance. I was surrounded by my siblings to my left and my mother to my right. Man, life feels really good right now, I hope it'll be like this forever..
She read us a story from quite a large book. A story about some being who created talking trees called Drechins. After she read us a portion she closed the book.
So let me summarise whatever she read and whatever words I could make out.
Basically, there was this girl who magically appeared in this world and had no one to play with. One day, she discovered that she had special powers no one else had.
What she did then was, she created little balls of mud and put life in them, playing with them until they all started to deform and fell. I mean they were puny little mud balls after all.
She got sad and it was a bunch of depressing shit. What she did then was, use her comical powers to put life into trees which started playing with her.
The portion of the story ended here.
I won't lie, it seemed like a bunch of made up stuff. But considering I reincarnated in another world, I'll not be dense like those reincarnated anime characters and consider that it's probably real.
I'm prepared to be disappointed
"Aww! Mowe mowe! Mommy mowe!" Illa demanded.
"One more please, mommy?" Grey requested.
"Now, now, you must sleep. It has been a long day for the both of you.. and you wouldn't want to make your little brother upset would you two?" Mother quietly spoke, both my siblings went quiet as they silently nodded their heads in agreement. I honestly wanted to hear more but eh, she'll probably read more of it to us next time.
I wonder though, I haven't seen my father since I was born.. Where is he? What type of father wouldn't be there for their beloved son's birth?
Meh, I'll think about it later.
