Another week had passed.
I've gotten accustomed to being spoiled by Violet with hot baths and strolls inside the manor. She keeps on talking to me as if I'd respond, it sometimes makes me feel sad that I can't answer back.
It seems my mother is really popular. She has guests coming over every other day. How does she manage keeping up that composure everyday?
She takes me on small walks around the manor. The first day she took me, I was flabbergasted, the size and beauty of the garden was nothing like I imagined. It was a large field of flowers, trees and plants I couldn't even recognize. I could see the green belt of trees and snow-capped mountains far away. The sight was spread out by an unmeasurable sea of green grasses and beautiful plains. Huge white clouds hovered over the sight.
I saw small houses dotting the huge plains and large dark green patches of forests occasionally covering the land. The manor was a little higher up compared to the land I saw. It was probably built on a higher altitude.
I felt a strong surge of excitement in me. I was shaking.
"Tori, are you feeling cold? We should head back inside my dear child~"
She smiled as she spoke. I felt a warmth settling on my cheeks.
Only when she took me outside did I realise how large the manor was. It was in a league of its own, I couldn't even see the entire back properly.
Nobles here sure are crazy.
There were a few small stands selling fruits and vegetables. It was because the nearest town is at a decent distance from the Manor… or so I've heard.
There were signs denoting prices on the stands.
I had learnt quite a bit about the language of this world in the span of two weeks. I could make out basic words spoken, read simple letters written and count till 10.
In my past life, I was always talented when it came to learning new languages. I was multilingual and not only that but I was really good at learning new things quickly.
Just wait till I find a library. I'm sure there must be one in here.
Ah, and I learnt what my full birth name was— Artorius Regis Frayder.
Quite a long name compared to the one I had in my past life. I sounds grand too.
While my mother was taking a stroll in the garden with me, a maid approached us. To my surprise, she had four curled horns–just like a goat's–on her head.
Well, that's one tick in my list. Races beside humans do exist here.. I wonder if I'll discover some demons or orcs too….
"Lady Katheryn, Lord Elmer has returned. He wishes to see you, and the young Master Artorius."
She bowed as she spoke.
Master Artorius? Stop it, you're flattering me..!
I grinned with a slight blush on my face.
Without a word, my mother picked up the pace, quickly heading inside, She seemed eager to see father. Throughout her path through the manor, I saw multiple rooms. One door was larger than the others. I presume it might be the great library I dream so often about!
My mother navigated the long corridors with no trouble.
How does she even keep these paths remembered?
Whatever, I'll get used to it soon. From what words I picked up from that maid, I believe I'm going to see my father now. I'm pretty excited!
As my mother reached the door, she opened it without a pause.
In the room–well furnished with a fireplace–was a man.
A tall and lean man, he wore a well-decorated white ceremonial uniform. The collars had golden finishes. A white cape to finish off the outfit.
Quite dripped out I must say.
He turned around to look at Mother and me.
His serious, inexpressive face a moment before lit up with a bright smile. He had medium length blue hair. Bangs around the ears and the hair parted from the middle. His face had a sharp, clean shaved jawline. His skin was well-kept just like Mother.
He had two amethyst-like piercings on his left ear and his pupils had a strong, vibrant azure colour.
He seemed to be around in his early-middle 20s from what I could guess.
"Kath! I've missed you so much!" He pulled my mother into a heartfelt hug, I felt his protectiveness and warmth seep into me as well.
"Elemer, you missed your third beloved child's birth, you know!" Mother playfully pouted, I had never seen her so expressive since the day I was born and the night she spent with me and my siblings.
"Haha! Forgive me, dear… you know I couldn't leave my mission in-between. Otherwise, I would've flown here instantly! Let me see my son.. I want to see the child you spent blood, sweat and tears to birth.."
My mother carried me a bit upright, I felt awkward being stared at with those shiny azure eyes. I couldn't help but blush a little.
My father, Elemer, held me as he gently smiled, a light chuckle escaped his mouth. A few drops of tears fell on my cheek. He had tear-filled eyes.
"Welcome to Nefurat, Artorius, my beloved son…" My eyes shined with the same fervour as his. I felt like crying myself. Gosh, my heart can't take this wholesome moment! My mother held me from the back too, her eyes filled with tears as well.
"Isn't he beautiful? Just like you.. he got your captivating Blue eyes… Am I right, dear?" My mother spoke; A light blush shading her cheeks.
"He sure is. He definitely got that cute big face and that innocent glint in his eyes from you~" My father commented with a little blush on his cheeks too.. Playing with my hair a little.
"Gosh, you're making me blush, you flatterer! Although… I'm not innocent at all, if you remember that night~" She recoiled with a playful tone.
Mother is quite assertive… Duly noted!
My father was caught off guard–so was I– from that comment. "J-Jeez! For God's sake, will you forget that already?? You're too aggressive when you're drunk!" He looked away briefly, with a bright red tint on his cheeks.
Does he mean Mother gets dominan… Oh hell no! Curse me for having the power to hear!
Just then, my siblings barged into the room, two maids behind them for security.
They quickly ran over to us.
"Daddy! You're back!" Illa— Full name Illeria –Yelled with uncontrolled excitement. Her eyes glistened with happiness.
"Daddy! I've missed you!" Grey— Full name Greyll –spoke with the same fervour as Illa. He seemed quite interested in father's mission and achievements. As expected of a man!
"Ah! Illa! Grey! Come here and give daddy a big hug!" He opened his arms as Illa and Greyll jumped into the open embrace.
"Aren't they the cutest, just like Tori!" My mother spoke.
"Indeed, I'm lucky I married a woman like you, Kath.." He stood up once more, holding Ila and Greyll in his arms. He looked at Mother with a bright smile before looking at me.
I felt my cheeks dampening.
"Gosh, you'll make me fall head over heels for you again~" Mother's eyes were glistening with love.
They hugged as us three siblings also joined in the moment.
This family reunion felt like nothing before.
I wish for this moment to last forever.
I didn't wanna see it end. I hope it'll never end.
This second life has been the best thing I've ever gotten.
I expect greatness and peace from here on out, no more suffering like my past life.
