Walking into the café, Rihan scanned the space instinctively, his eyes searching for his sister. He was faintly relieved to see how much the place had changed since the last time he'd been here.
Back then, it had been his escape. A quiet corner he used to hide in during holidays, away from family. Now it looked brighter, sleeker. Modern. Newly renovated. It was probably under new ownership.
Yeji sat toward the back, already waving when she spotted him. She looked exactly like herself, sharp and put together. Dressed in a crisp button-down tucked into straight-cut combat trousers, boots planted confidently on the floor.
Her hair fell into soft curtain bangs, framing a smile that had always been equal parts of tease and affection.
Rihan walked over and sat across from her. She leaned forward immediately, studying him with open interest.
"Damn," she said, grinning. "You look way better today. Did you and Taeryn make up?"
Rihan nodded. "Yeah."
