The Astral Convergence is the most important test for anyone who wants to enter the Astral Academy. It checks both the mind and the body.
The exam has five parts. The first two are for the mind — a multiple-choice test and then a written essay. These parts test how much you know about fragments, Dominions, and the world.
The next three parts are for the body. The first physical test is simple exercises — push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and some lifting.
The second test is running. Everyone has to run around the training field and finish under a set time. The last part is the most famous one — the Weapon Demonstration. In it, every candidate must pick a weapon of their choice and show their skills. Swords, spears, bows, axes, anything. The stronger and more creative your show is, the more points you get.
But the exam is not fair as not all people have the skills for weapon. The founders of the Astral Academy were all people from the Dominion of Weapons, so they always prefer those who fight with weapons.
People like healers or mages generally get lower scores, even if they are very talented. Still, Astral Academy is one of the best academies in our province Starfall the southern province. It's only a few kilometers away from where we live, and they also have hostels, so we can live there easily too.
In my previous life, Elara also passed this exam. She was so happy that day.
But when she joined the academy, everything changed. She was bullied by older students for having a weak-looking fragment.
They called her names, took her books, and even hurt her. She never told me. I was too busy following Amanda around like a fool. I didn't even notice the pain my sister went through every day. By the time I learned the truth, it was already too late. Elara died in the second month of her first year.I was devastated but what could a loser like me would have done.
This time, things will be different. I will make sure she never suffers again. I will protect her with my life. And if I win the Inter-Academy Tournament, where the best students from all the best academies from all provinces fight, I will earn a huge reward — money, fragments, and fame.
That will be enough to keep her safe and give her the life she deserves.
The exam is going to happen in just a week, and because of my previous life I already know how to use weapons — that will help a lot. Thinking about the past, I looked up at the sky and realized It was spring again. The sunlight felt bright and soft. The clouds were fluffy and the sky had a golden glow. I could hear birds chirping.
Around me, new leaves were growing on the trees. Flowers bloomed on the plants and the grass was lush and green. The world looked alive and calm — like a small peace before the storm of the exam.
I took a slow breath and felt a little better. One week. That was all I had to prepare.I didn't felt scared or nervous the only emotion that was there was guilt.
Guilt of abandoning my only family , guilt of trusting those who didn't even care about me , guilt of being weak .
A friend of mine in my previous life told me about a time on Earth probably thousands of years ago in which there were no fragments, no fragment core , no magic , no monsters and no heroes with power.
There were only normal people with family and no conflict , how peaceful that time had been , I envy those people who got to live in it .A world with no abilities and no fragments , it sounds so peaceful.
I studied in my history classes that there used to be multiple countries and in them small states each with different cultures .
Haaaaaaaaaa
Well now there are only three countries in the human domain first Luminia in Northern hemisphere then Solara in the southern hemisphere where i live and Velmora in the centre.
Hmmmmmm
I had thought too much already. All this time just sitting and thinking, worrying about the past, about what could happen. I sighed. Enough.
It was time to start moving, time to practice.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath inhale ... exhale .
The air was cool and soft. Slowly, I could feel that strange light feeling again "Disorient" , like my body had become weightless. My chest felt calm, and my heart beat steady and strong. Then, without thinking more, I started to run towards a forest behind my house.
At first, my steps were slow, but then I began to move faster.
The wind brushed against my face. My feet made soft sounds on the grass — thup, thup, thup. I entered the forest, and everything changed.
The smell of fresh earth filled my nose. The air was full of the sound of birds singing, leaves rustling, and branches creaking softly.
I jumped over a fallen branch and ran deeper. Sunlight peeked through the leaves above, falling like golden dust on the ground.
A squirrel ran past me and climbed up a tree. I laughed a little without knowing why.
My body felt light and free.
I ran faster, then slowed down, touching the bark of a tree, rough and cool under my hand. I climbed up a little, looking around — the trees swayed gently, the forest seemed alive, breathing with me.
I could feel my heart beating hard, but it felt good. The air filled my lungs, clean and fresh. For a moment, I forgot everything — the pain, the past, the fear. There was only the forest, the wind, and me.
Thudddddd....
Suddenly behind me I heard a very heavy noise that something had fallen , I ran towards the noise and from a little far i saw a lot of smoke covering an area .
What the hell is this .
