Chapter 9 – A Mythical God
The System's final, shocking notification hung in the air, its meaning sinking into Sam's mind like a shard of ice.
---
[System Window]
Notice! The god-level beings here are 10x more powerful than the god-level beings in the host's world and dungeons.
---
Sam stood frozen, the wind of this strange new world whipping against his Undead God armor.
"What?!?"he breathed out, his voice barely a whisper, laden with complete and utter shock.
After a few moments of stunned silence, his mind raced, scrambling for purchase. He looked around at the jagged, wolf-den-like landscape and then inward, towards the System interface.
"Hey System," he asked, his tone shifting from shock to demanding inquiry. "What does this mean?"
---
[System Window]
System detected! Host is asking questions directly.
System looking for answer…
---
The System is a mysterious entity. A thousand years ago, as humanity teetered on the brink of extinction, the game-like windows had simply appeared. It taught humanity how to fight, introduced the concepts of classes, and bestowed the power to resist the monsters. But when humanity began asking deeper questions—about its origin, its purpose—the answers changed. Some queries were answered freely, while others were locked away, deemed inaccessible to the host's current level of understanding.
---
And now, Sam had just asked the System a question about a subject far beyond the ordinary.
---
[System Window]
Processing host's question…
Host is now in the world of Fenrgar. This is a world made for wolf-type monsters only. The ruler of this world is a mythical Wolf God.
This is an Origin World. The monsters of Origin Worlds are inherently more powerful than the Key Universe and the Copy Universe's Worlds. As this is a wolf-type Origin Universe, its inhabitants possess power ten times greater than those of the key Universe's.
---
Upon reading this, a look of deep confusion washed over Sam's face.
"Origin World?Key World? Copy World? What are those?"
Another notification appeared, patient and impersonal.
[System Window]
Does the host want to know about anything else?
"Yes," Sam said immediately, his curiosity overriding his caution. "System, what are Origin, Copy, and Key Universes? And what do you mean by other universes?"
---
[System Window]
System looking for answers…
Answering host's questions…
---
For a moment, there was silence. Then, the interface flickered violently, flashing with urgent, red text.
---
[System Window]
Error!!!! Error!!! Error!!!
System data is not available to the host. Upgrade System for advanced question clearance.
Sam stared, baffled. "What? What does this mean? System upgrade? Advanced questions?"
The standard prompt returned, oblivious to his frustration.
---
[System Window]
Does the host want to know anything else?
---
Sam let out a deep, exasperated sigh. "HAAAH!!! Fine. Just tell me more about this world."
---
[System Window]
Answering host's questions…
Host is now in Universe - ???, in the world of Fenraugr . This world is ruled by a mythical spiritual-level Wolf God called Fenrir.
---
Upon hearing this name, Sam's blood ran cold. He took an involuntary step back.
"F-Fenrir?!How can this be?" he muttered to himself, memories of old, dusty books flashing in his mind. "I've read about Fenrir in a book of myths… but it was said that the authors only saw an illusion of that beast. Because of their stories, no one believed them."
He thought of the illustrations he'd seen—a beast looking beauful but deadly , with jaws that could snap anything in two. A shiver ran down his spine.
"To think that Fenrir was real…!"
---
[System Window]
Would host like to know anything else?
---
"System, I would like to know more about Fenri—"
But before he could even complete his sentence, he felt it.
A presence.
It was more than killing intent; it was a primordial, suffocating pressure that settled on the world itself. The very air grew heavy and still. Sam's eyes widened, and he froze on the spot. His senses, heightened to a god-like level, screamed at him, yet he felt utterly powerless. He couldn't even comprehend how something could make him feel this way.
Slowly, mechanically, Sam turned to look behind him.
There, towering over him, was a colossal figure, its fur as dark as the void between stars, with two flowing, crimson red eyes that burned like hellfire.
Then, a voice, cold and sharp enough to flay the soul, echoed directly in his ears, laced with an ancient, simmering anger.
A giant creature screamed making wverything crumble .
" Who are you , what are you doing here?"
