Chapter 3 - Masal

Bartu sat in his office, the chaos of the city reflected in the windows, but his mind remained fixated on Masal. The feelings within him were so strong that he thought only of her. She was the man Bartu trusted most, his right-hand man, and the person he managed all his dirty work with.

When Emir entered Bartu's office, he raised his eyebrows when he saw Bartu simply watching the city. While Bartu was watching the city from the window in his office, Emir entered with a thick file in hand. "I've gathered what you needed," he said, placing the file on the table. "Everything about that girl is here." Bartu opened the file silently.

His eyes didn't waver as he flipped through the pages; every detail was meticulously scrutinized. Emir smiled a little when he saw his gaze. "Masal grew up in an orphanage," Emir said. Bartu repeated what Emir had said. "Masal, Masal, her name is Masal," he said, leaning on the edge of the table. "She works at a small cafe.

She has a quiet, peaceful life. She has no family, no official records. Her close circle is limited; she only interacts with her coworkers at the cafe." Bartu nodded. "Go on." Emir opened the file a little wider. "Masal's daily routine, her hours, her frequent destinations... I noted everything. Her social media accounts are limited; she doesn't share much.

She values her privacy. In short... she's a hard girl to reach." Bartu took a deep breath. "That's exactly why she interests me. This girl... she's not an ordinary person." Emir raised his eyebrows. "I understand that she means something to you. But be careful. Masal is fragile. If you make the wrong move... you could harm her life. For this girl... we have to do everything carefully." Bartu looked at the file once more and closed it.

As Bartu stared out the window, a single thought echoed in his mind: "That girl... will be a part of my life." When the cafe door opened with a heavy thud, Masal continued preparing orders without looking up. The busy day, the steaming hot coffee, and the buzz of customers were just another routine for him. As he did every day, he polished the cups, placed coffee on the tables, and focused on his work without looking at anyone.

But Bartu's eyes had caught his attention. His black suit, his firm, determined steps, and the briefcase he carried with him instantly transformed the atmosphere of the cafe. He was Bartu; one of the most powerful and dangerous names in the city. But now, none of that power, wealth, or danger mattered. All that mattered was Masal. Masal was oblivious to his presence.

He didn't know Bartu was there, didn't notice, was simply fulfilling the orders. For Bartu, this was a tremendous allure. At that moment, he'd felt his heart beat so fast looking at a woman for the first time. She'd come to a meeting, discussing business with her men. But his mind couldn't leave Masal. The way her hair shone in the light, the peaceful yet tired expression on her face, the way her fingers gripped the glasses...

Bartu absorbed every detail. He couldn't take his eyes off Masal. Every movement was magical for him. During the meeting, she seemed to be taking notes, asking questions, but her entire mind was fixated on Masal. The cafe's lights combined with her gaze created a lure Masal wasn't aware of. Bartu smiled to himself for a moment; For the first time, he felt powerless against a woman. As the meeting ended and they left the cafe, Bartu took a slow step, but his eyes never left Masal.

A new determination rose within him: Masal noticed him when she looked around, and their eyes met, albeit briefly. The attraction in their eyes remained an invisible secret to him. But from that moment on, Bartu would stop at nothing to get to know Masal and let her into his life.
