Chapter 2 - First Opinion

Masal. It was a busy lunch hour in the small cafe. Masal patiently filled the orders, polished the glasses at the counter, and tried to smile at the customers who came in. The days were similar; the simple life he'd built after years in the orphanage had become both tiring and a routine he'd grown accustomed to. Masal didn't even look up when the cafe door banged open.

Four men entered, immediately standing out in the crowd. Their black suits, stern faces, and heavy demeanor made it clear they weren't ordinary customers. One of them took the lead. Bartu's entrance transformed the moment he entered. The cold authority in his eyes silenced even the men sitting next to him.

They sat at a corner table, opened their briefcases, and began a whispered discussion. Masal didn't look up when he brought the coffees to their tables, politely setting the glasses down and returning. To him, these men were just other customers discussing business. But not to Bartu.

Even as he was bringing their orders, he noticed the hair falling into Masal's face. As he set down the coffee, he watched her hand not shake, her calm but tired gaze. He had known so many women, at luxurious invitations, at lavish parties… But none of them were like Masal. Her purity, her untainted state of life, left an unfamiliar ache in Bartu's heart.

While his men were loudly discussing numbers and agreements at the meeting, Bartu's mind had long since drifted away. He twirled the pen between his fingers, unable to take his eyes off Masal. Masal didn't even notice his gaze. He continued with an ordinary workday. But something inside Bartu whispered that this girl needed to come into his life.

At the company A few hours later, Bartu entered his office on the top floor of the skyscraper. The city view was reflected in the windows, but Masal's face was still in his eyes. Emir was already in the room. He was leaning on the edge of the table in his thin suit, his cigarette half-finished. "How was the meeting?" he asked indifferently. Bartu didn't answer. He walked to the window and folded his arms.

He was silent for a while, then took a deep breath. "There… something else happened." Emir raised his eyebrows. "What do you mean something else?" Bartu's voice was soft for the first time. "There was a girl. I saw her and… I can't get her out of my mind." Emir laughed lightly. "You? That's how you look at a girl, right? In the middle of something?" Bartu turned to look into his friend's eyes.

He was serious, determined. "Yes. I want to get to know her. Find out everything. Find out where she lives, who she is, what her life is…." Seeing Bartu's seriousness, Emir stubbed out his cigarette. "Okay. So Bartu has fallen in love with a girl, it's my duty to find that girl. I'll take care of it now." Bartu nodded. "You won't be a man." As his eyes rolled out the window, he was fixated on a single thought: Fairytale.
