Chapter 6 - Prisoner

Tw: This chapter contains depictions of imprisonment, abuse, torture, gore, and violence.

Zane enters Connor's room in the middle of the night. A few others follow him inside, they all seem like Church members, but they know more than others, so they must have higher spots in the Church.

A man with grey hair, a crooked grin, and an evil look on his face enters right behind Zane, but bypasses him to look at Connor. He grabs Connor's white hair abruptly and tanks his head back, inspecting his features. "Wow! He does have a divine look to him... I wonder if he's truly immortal... But we'll find out soon enough."

Connor shoves the man back, using as much force as he can muster while still half-asleep. It barely manages to do anything.

Zane walks further into the room, "Lucious... You might frighten him." Zane clearly doesn't care, but he seems almost... Possessive about who touches Connor.

Connor, concerned by what's happening, especially at this time of night backs up a bit, his back hitting the corner of the room. "What is going on? Who are you? Why are you here?"

Zane speaks up, "They're like my friends, and friends share."

Connor looks disgusted. "That sounds perverted."

The man with grey hair- Lucious slaps him. "You're supposed to be a god, get you think such defiling thoughts... About a priest no less!"

Connor rubs his cheek. "What do you want?"

They all look at Zane and nod in unison. "To witness an immortal and it's abilities."

Zane motions for someone with a bag to come in. "We'll be taking you into the basement. And once inside we'll be testing a few theories we have..."

Connor leaps and grabs Coco, then he bolts for the door. However due to the rooms size and the amount of people inside, it's inevitable that he was caught.

Zane clicks his tongue. "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. What do you think you're doing, Connor?"

Connor squirms around as one of the Church members grabs him. "Just let me go already!"

They all laugh in unison, as if this is funny. "No. And if you run away we'll bring you right back. On today's schedule, we'll be testing a few theories we have on your immortality..."

Connor pauses. "What are you saying? You can't treat me like this!"

Zane shurgs, "We're saying that we're going to run a few tests. See how far your immortality will go. I'm other words..."

Lucious continues for Zane's pause, "We'll be killing you. In a few ways." He turns to Zane and whispers, "He won't die for real, right? Because that... Would be bad."

The person holding Connor- a burly man probably in his thirties, speaks up. "Should we take him to the basement? And how long do you think this'll take?"

Zane shrugs, "Yes, we should get going. This may take anywhere from all night to a week. It all depends on our little god." He smiles.

Vico, the man holding Connor- exits the room. And a woman, Viva, probably Vico's twin, sets the dog back in the room. Then they close the door upon everyone's exit.

Heading into the basement, a spiralling staircase with pre-lit torches on the outer wall. It's dim, and cold, a rotten smell reaches Connor's nose almost instantly. It could be because of rodents, food, mould, or... Flesh.

At the bottom of the stairwell is a giant pair of wooden doors. Vico opens them with general ease, even when carrying Connor. This is enough for Connor to know that overpowering them isn't an option.

There are seven cells, four on the left, and three on the right. Beyond the cells to the right is a storage unit. There is a torch in-between each cell, but it doesn't illuminate or warm anything up by much.

In each cell there are two bowls, chains on the wall, and pools of dried blood. Connor can still see the emotions that linger here, pleasure, pain, guilt, despair, and fear. All mixed together in colours. They're faint, but present.

They're underground so there are no windows, and rats are definitely present, but hidden. The four Church members walk in, closing the doors behind them. This place is mostly soundproof due to it being underground.

Lucious smiles, as if reminiscing. "This brings back so many pleasant memories."

Connor looks at Lucious with concern. "Pleasant? This is a place where people have been tortured and slaughtered!"

Lucious stares at Connor, confused by his statement. "Obviously... But there's something so thrilling about hearing their sweet screams! Their pleas, cries, their agony..."

Connor, clearly disgusted, nearly screams, "You're sick! You did this to them?! What did they do to you?!"

Zane interrupts, "They tried leaving. And Lucious, my closest friend, also manages such affairs. Viva handles tracking, Vico handles rough housing and fighting, and I'm the face."

Connor stutters, "You- You killed them... For trying to leave?!"

Zane and Lucious nod. The twins simply stay silent, with Vico tossing Connor into one of the cells.

"Lucious will be in charge of handling you until we've tested at least a dozen ways of... Well you know, killing you." Zane motions for the twins to follow him out.

Lucious waves goodbye. "Now, dear immortal... Let me introduce you to my babies!"

He grabs a handful of items and places them on the floor in front of Connor's cell. "This is a 'Ball strap gag', these are simple, but sturdy ropes, Hmm... Oh and a collar, but that's for later. Uhh, chains, knives of all kinds, and as you can see... Others are present as well! After we kill you I will ask that you tell me a few things, okay?"

Connor looks at him. "You're a lunatic. I- I don't even know what to say to scum like you."

Lucious shrugs, "You won't have to speak until I question you. That's what the gag's for!"

Connor shakes his head. "You can't do this to me!"

Lucious sighs. "You lost any freedom you had the moment you came here." He collects his items and enters the cell.

Connor backs up into the corner, but he can't overpower Lucious, who is surprisingly strong despite being over fifty.

Lucious grabs Connor's arm and chains it to the wall, then he does the same to the other arm.

"First we try stabbing your heart." Lucious grabs one of the knives, and pierces Connor's chest.

The blood pools underneath Connor, it also flows out of his mouth, making him cough. He goes limp, but only for a second, then the bleeding stops.

Lucious nods, "Got it. How did it feel? Did you experience actual death? And did you see the other side if there is any?"

Connor spits out some blood. "I'm not answering your trivia questions right now."

Lucious shrugs, "Suit yourself, just means I can continue without stop." He puts the gag he had beside him, on Connor.

"Next up we have poisoning, blunt damage, drowning, burning, suffocation, strangling, internal bleeding; and brain trauma. And to finish it off we'll be seeing if you can regenerate non-lethal wounds without dying..." Lucious looks up to see Connor's reaction.

Shock, terror, fear, anguish, despair, disgust, all sorts of emotions pass through Connor's face.

"I understand your fear, who would want to go through this? And you can't even end it or escape... Sucks to suck." Lucious shows no signs of pity, but it looks like he does somewhat relate to Connor's situation.
