Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Her cherry-pink lips, her breathing growing tangled.

After a quiet beat, sensing that Levy was about to pull away, Roland, without hesitation, wrapped his arms around that small, lovely body and, with a decidedly assertive posture, savored the girl's taste.

Realizing what he was doing, Levy froze for a moment, then rose up on tiptoe on instinct, clumsily returning the kiss.

A faint fragrance drifted from her blue hair; the jelly-soft warmth of contact, their mingled breaths—

Everything was dizzyingly sweet.

"Mm—mm—"

Levy soon couldn't take it, patting his back with all her strength.

I'm… I'm going to suffocate!

Though her strength felt like mere spoiled-cute fussing to Roland, the instant he saw the flush on her face deepen from lack of air, he came to his senses.

As they parted, Levy gulped in fresh air, amber eyes turning misty.

The woozy dizziness from being breathless left her weak, so she leaned limply against Roland's chest, cherry lips gleaming wetly under the moonlight.

Seeing the mark he'd left, Roland couldn't help reaching out to wipe it with his forefinger.

But before her head cleared, Levy tilted her face, as if some odd thought had popped up—and took his finger into her mouth.

"Bite" wasn't quite right; to Roland it felt more like "holding."

There wasn't any pain at all—in fact he could feel her soft, wet tongue tip gently lapping at his fingertip.

It tickled.

"What exactly are you doing?"

Roland stroked her short blue hair as if petting a small animal, expression wry.

"Ah—" Levy visibly blanked, then hurriedly let his finger go, mumbling in shame, "In some of the books I read, after kissing… some girls do that…"

"…Could I borrow those?"

Roland's interest was piqued.

"Those lew— ahem, those books were borrowed by Erza not long ago…"

Levy coughed lightly, catching herself, and shook her head.

And she wasn't lying—those adult books she'd bought had all been borrowed away by Erza herself.

"The Fairy Queen likes that kind of book?"

Roland pinched his chin, surprised.

Levy reading was one thing—curious bookish girls being curious was normal—but Erza, too?

"Please don't ever bring this up with Erza, or I'm doomed!"

As if recalling the fear of being "disciplined" by Erza, Levy hastily warned him.

After resting a bit more, she had most of her strength back, yet she didn't immediately leave Roland's arms.

She was, in fact, a little reluctant to part from that warmth.

"You know… you don't have to go tonight."

He said the same words again, but unlike the half-joking tone from before, this time he clearly meant it.

"No… doing that now would be way too fast!"

As expected, Levy turned beet red and refused his invitation.

"At the very least… we should spend some time getting along first…"

They'd known each other only two days, and she'd already given him her first kiss—this pace was honestly abnormal.

Hearing her soft grumbling, Roland didn't press her. He respectfully gave the girl time to prepare herself.

"Alright, we'll talk about it later then."

Ruffling that sky-blue bob, Roland helped her steady back on her feet.

With the solid feel of the floor beneath her, Levy's swaying eased. She bit lightly at her rosy lip.

So kissing is this wonderful…

Thinking that, her eyes couldn't help drifting to Roland's lips again.

One more time—then I'll go home!

"Mm—w-wait! Not there!"

As Levy's "follow-up attack" came, Roland narrowed his eyes, intending to collect a little "interest" from this disobedient girl.

The end result was Levy fleeing with a mortified whimper, arms crossed over her modest chest, back retreating in quick steps.

The size wasn't much to speak of—but the feel had been unexpectedly good.

Roland's fingers flexed twice in the air as if holding something, drifting in thought.

Back in the upstairs bedroom, Roland lay on the soft little bed, eyes on the moon outside the window as his mind slowly emptied.

This was already his second night in this world.

To be honest, without Levy's voice nearby, the quiet took some getting used to.

Recalling the girl's shy sweetness tonight and the softness of her lips, he curved a faint smile.

With expectations for tomorrow, Roland closed his eyes.

At six in the morning, chill air flowed in through the window, and when the curtains opened, sunlight fell across an empty bed.

"System, show me today's quests."

He bit into a crisp piece of toast as the system's task panel appeared before his eyes.
