Chapter 11 - 11

Susan noticed his extra ordinary effort, she felt bad at how she has been treating him but she was determined to not quit until he leaves her alone, knowing who he really was after much research scared her to an extent and made her feel special as well with his kind treatment. And she notices big difference between Derek and Chris, things Derek would get mad about or hit her for are things Chris takes lightly even though she was pushing him.

Though some seems to be too much and she doesn't want to be indebted to anyone, she wants to be independent but Chris wasn't letting her and it kept causing arguments.

"I don't need hand me downs" she snapped shoving all the 100 bills he had tipped her with.

"It's not hands me downs, I enjoy the service, great view and…" she interrupted him.

"you don't tip others. …"

"I don't have interest in others, I am a business man, I invest where there's something to gain" he cut her off from her rant and watched her as she processed what he said before she snatched the money off the table.

"You must be bad at business because you stand to gain absolutely nothing from me" she mumbled putting the money in her pocket, he chuckled.

"Trust me, I am pretty good at business "he winked and she rolled her eyes.

"Do you even sleep? You're here at every of my shift and that's like every day" she questioned genuinely curious about his sleep pattern, she gets sleep before she goes to sweets, he on the other hand she has no idea.

"Are you worried about me?" He asked and she scoffed, going back to her work, trying so hard to suppress her smile which she failed because he saw it.

"Don't come tomorrow "she said as he dropped her off at her place.

"I can't help it; I just find myself wherever you are" he flirts and she sigh.

"Really, rest, at least for a day" she mumbled.

"Go on a date with me and I will not show up tomorrow "he offered.

"You do know I could easily not care if you're getting enough sleep or not?" She asked and he smiled.

"But you are practically trying to get me to sleep well, so I say you care in your own kind of way" he explained.

"So, will you go on a date with me? Your day off is in two days' time" he asked and she sigh.

"If I say no?" She asked and he gave her a smile that tells her he wasn't going to accept a no.

"Sure, a date it is" she smiled, he unlocked the door and she stepped out, she peeped through the open door.

"If you show up tomorrow, I will spike your drink" she threatened with a smile and he nods.

"I won't "he replied, she shut the door walking away.

Chris smiled throughout his ride home, she had grown on him that he forgets the image he builds for the outside world and live the life he didn't know he needed.

He as promised didn't go to the Beast but ended up at sweet to get coffee.

"I can't believe you" she whispered as she served his coffee, people were staring, some even taking pictures.

"I just want coffee" he shrugged.

"Like all the coffee…

"If you keep talking, I will come around the counter and shut you up" he threatened with a raised brow, she glanced behind him to be sure the person on the line wasn't listening, she smiled brightly and handed his coffee.

"See, you listen well" he teased and left before she could glare properly at him.

"Susan" vanilla called from across the road getting a frown from Susan, she hasn't seen her in a while and definitely wasn't expecting to see her, not at Sweets.

"Hi Mrs Smith" she said confused, Vanilla grabbed her hand.

"We have a huge party and I need all hands-on deck; I promise to pay" vanilla quickly said.

"Uhm, OK, what's the party about?" Susan asked.

"A house warming party and it's not just anyone, I have to keep the name anonymous but he is very very famous" she whispered the last part.

"He just moved here" she added and Susan nods.

"If you pay for extra time" she added and vanilla grinned.

"See you at 4" Vanilla hurried off and Susan sighed, the thought of her date with Chris completely skipping her mind as the thought of work kicked in.
