"It's rare for a human to dare step into my domain."
Emilia turned around. From within the darkness, a figure emerged, tall, cloaked in a long robe covered in ancient runes.
He seemed perfectly merged with the shadows around him. Though his face wasn't concealed, Emilia still couldn't make out what he truly looked like.
"You are…"
She could guess, somewhat. A kind of existence that no mortal could look at directly… perhaps…
"Latos," he said, smiling. His voice was low and rough, yet strangely warm. "The one you humans call the God of Death."
That faint smile lessened the chill in the air, yet in his eyes lingered something — curiosity, and a trace of amusement toward the fragile mortal who had trespassed into a god's realm.
