Chapter 2 - Just a Streamer! - 2

An apartment in Kochi City.

Barbatos sat on the sofa, her right leg hugged close. Her left leg, encased in a cast, rested on the sofa's edge, swaying gently. The straight, pale calf peeked out from beneath the plaster. If not for the cast, no one would guess that leg had ever been broken.

After using [Heal] again today, the mostly-recovered leg was completely restored, good enough for a 10,000-meter long-distance run right now.

'What a shame, if I went for a run now, I'd definitely get caught and dissected,' she thought, a note of genuine regret in her voice. A broken bone required at least three months of rest; recovering in such a short time was anything but normal.

'Taking the Tracen Academy entrance exam in two months shouldn't seem too odd, right? I can just credit my amazing physique for healing the fracture in two months.'

'Sigh, I really want to go out and try using my other skills.'

Barbatos puffed out her cheeks, her two gradient-green braids dangling down on either side. The "cheat" she got after crossing into this world wasn't as simple as just [Heal] and [Ghost].

It was a complete system.

[Heal] and [Ghost] were merely the summoner spells within the system.

With a thought, a screen of light materialized before her.

Looking at the methods for earning Blue Essence and Gold, Barbatos felt the road ahead was long and arduous.

'What a rip-off! Just because Wild Rift matches are shorter, they give less Essence per win. Who'd want to play the mobile version like this?!'

'A PC win gives 2 Essence. With First Win and MVP, that jumps straight to 6 Essence.'

'Hmph.'

Initially, she thought the PC's 2 Essence would become 8 with the First Win and MVP bonuses stacked. But after testing it on the mobile version, she found First Win + MVP only yielded 3 Essence, which thoroughly dashed her hopes.

Though she grumbled about the system being a rip-off, her hands acted honestly, picking up her phone and launching League of Legends: Wild Rift to start a new ranked battle.

'Back when Seven was still active, he played 50 ranked matches a day.'

'So me playing 100 ranked matches a day in Wild Rift isn't too much, right?'

Barbatos pumped herself up. A hundred ranked matches, if she got MVP in every one plus the First Win bonus, would net her 201 Blue Essence. Just over a day more of grinding, and she'd have the 450 Essence needed to buy [Master Yi] from the Champion Store.

For an Uma Musume, the benefits of Master Yi might not be as high as Hecarim's, but he had the advantage of being cheap, granting the ultimate skill [Highlander].

Each champion had four skills, but not all were practical for real-world use. It wasn't that they were unusable, but rather that they shouldn't be used. Take Hecarim's four skills, for instance. His Q, W, and R could easily injure the other Uma Musume running alongside her.

Hecarim's ultimate, [Onslaught of Shadows], could even be used as a powerful final kick during a race.

Yet, she hadn't dragged [Onslaught of Shadows] into her skill slot.

While using it would provide an insane burst of speed for the finish, it would also inflict "Fear" on the surrounding Uma Musume.

If Uma Musume, who could run faster than some cars, were struck by Fear, a broken bone like hers would be a light consequence; most would likely die right there on the track.

After careful consideration, she decided against equipping [Onslaught of Shadows].

Barbatos's innate talent as an Uma Musume was genuinely poor.

Even without the broken leg, she might not have made it into Tracen Academy during the entrance exams. But now, with this system—essentially a cheat—she was confident she could pass Tracen's entrance exam steadily, even without buying new champions or any equipment.

After all, she was a cheater now.

Her finger tapped the screen, opening the ranked match icon. It displayed her rank: Master 570 points.

At this competitive intensity, even Barbatos found it somewhat challenging to carry games.

Sometimes, even after a win, she might not get the MVP. Facing particularly weak teammates, she might not be able to carry them at all.

Maybe once she reached Challenger, Wild Rift would stop being a one-person game. Perhaps after hitting 800 points and promoting to Challenger, earning Blue Essence wouldn't be so easy anymore.

Just as she was about to tap the [Find Match] button in the lower right corner, Barbatos let out a soft 'Huh?'. The ears on top of her head twitched with delight, and her cast-bound left leg nearly kicked the table in front of her.

'The system never said I have to play on my own account to get Blue Essence, did it?'

'What if I smurf on a low-level account, or do account boosting for others…'

'This must be a system bug.'

The system's description didn't specify that playing on low-ranked accounts or others' accounts wouldn't yield Blue Essence.

If this worked, compared to the increasingly difficult matches at Master tier and above, account boosting would not only earn her money to buy a PC for the desktop version but also provide a more stable source of MVP Essence income.

'Hmm, seems like I could even start streaming on the side.'
