Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Calculations

— Itachi's POV —

Konoha slept beneath a quiet moon, unaware of the thoughts running through the mind of its Hokage. From the highest window of the tower, Itachi watched the lights of the village flicker like stars trapped on earth. For the first time since his rebirth, his body felt whole—no cough, no tremor, only strength humming through every vein. Yet even now, his mind refused to rest.

He folded his arms, Sharingan dim behind half-lidded eyes. With this power, I could crush armies, he mused. There are few in any world who could challenge me now—perhaps Odin, perhaps the Ancient One—but on Earth? None.

The thought carried no arrogance, only quiet certainty. Decades of war and discipline had long burned pride out of him; all that remained was clear logic.

Still, he knew strength alone did not decide destiny.

"I am Hokage first," he murmured, voice barely above the rustle of the night wind. "Konoha's prosperity comes before amusement or conquest."

He turned back toward the holographic shimmer of the System Window floating before his desk. Lines of text glowed softly, a map of worlds and options branching like an endless web.

Kakashi's report flickered in one corner: Base established—New York Sector. S.H.I.E.L.D. cooperative alliance confirmed.

Itachi allowed himself a faint nod. Fury, Coulson… useful men, cautious but pragmatic. If I play this correctly, S.H.I.E.L.D. will fund half of my research without realizing it.

Still, caution whispered at the edge of his mind. The Marvel world was unpredictable. Gods hid in human form; cosmic forces could warp reality with a thought. And he didn't yet know which version of that world this was—the comics' chaos, the cinematic timeline, or some unstable mixture of both.

"Information first," he said quietly. "Always information before action."

He tapped through the system interface, studying resource logistics. Kakashi's team is competent, but small. They need reinforcement—spies, scientists, medics. Someone who can analyze alien energy and technology.

He closed his eyes, running through the list of names in his mind.Shikamaru for strategy.Sai for infiltration.Sakura for medical research.Shisui, of course—for loyalty and adaptability.

A faint smile touched his lips. That would be enough. Two squads, maximum. They'll blend into the world and learn everything: its science, its power structures, its weaknesses.

He scrolled further down the list of available worlds. Beside the Marvel universe blinked countless others—realities waiting to be bought, conquered, or studied.

Potential Purchases:– Attack on Titan World: 2,000 Points– My Hero Academia World: 3,500 Points– Avatar World: 4,000 Points– Highschool DxD World: 6,000 Points– Dragon Ball Universe: 20,000 Points

Itachi's eyes narrowed slightly. Some of these would be easier to subdue. Resources, soldiers, even bloodlines. But time was the real enemy. Less than twenty years until the Ōtsutsuki descended. Every decision he made now would shape the survival of this entire world.

"So," he murmured, shutting the window. "Reinforcements to Kakashi. Continued trade with S.H.I.E.L.D. Information before expansion. Then, when the path is clear…"

He turned toward the night, Sharingan catching the moonlight like crimson fire.

"I'll visit that world myself."

For now, the Hokage would remain where duty demanded—but the pieces were already moving. In one world, S.H.I.E.L.D. built an uneasy alliance with masked shinobi. In another, a silent god of war planned how to turn entire universes into weapons for peace.
