Chapter 27 - chapter 27 _ A visit

"Can you bring Selena to dinner this evening?" his mom asked.

"You know, the other day, you didn't let us get to know her properly," she continued.

Lucian sighed.

"I'll bring her, but only on one condition."

"What condition?" his mom asked.

"You guys won't ask any silly questions."

His mom paused for a moment.

"Fine."

Lucian thought about it for a moment before finally speaking. "Well, Mom, I have something to tell you," Lucian said.

"What is it, son?" she asked.

"She's not just my girlfriend."

"What?" His mom was confused. "We registered our marriage a few days ago."

"Really?" his mom asked excitedly.

"Yes," he replied.

"That's great news! We should celebrate."

"No," Lucian said firmly. "Don't tell anyone for now."

"But why?" his mom asked.

"She doesn't want anyone to know yet," he explained.

"Fine. I won't tell the rest of the family, but you have to bring her for dinner."

"All right, Mom," he said before ending the call.

When Selena was in her office, she kept looking at the bouquet, but she didn't notice the hidden camera nearby.

Mike was watching her from the other side.

A smile slowly appeared on his face.

"I'm going to do everything in my power to get you back," he said.

At 9 a.m., Lucian went to the conference room to discuss a new project with his team.

The meeting went on for hours, and they still hadn't finished.

By then, Selena was already hungry.

She didn't really like the food in the company, so she thought about ordering something.

Then she remembered Lucian was still in the conference room.

I don't even know what he likes. What am I going to order for him? she thought.

She thought about it for a while before remembering the few times they had gone out for dinner.

She had noticed that Lucian usually ordered the same kind of food.

After a while, she decided to order something for him.

About two and a half hours later, Lucian finally came out of the conference room and went straight to his office.

A short while later, he saw Selena walking toward his office with something in her hands.

She placed the food on the table.

"Here," she said.

Lucian looked at it in surprise.

He hadn't expected Selena to bring him anything.

When he opened the package and saw the food, he was even more surprised.

He looked at her.

"How do you know that I like this?"

"The few times we went out for dinner, I noticed you normally ordered it," she said with a smile.

"You remember?" he asked, looking at the dishes.

Selena nodded.

She didn't have anything else to say.

"I'll get going," she said.

Lucian looked at her.

"Where is yours?"

"Oh, it's in my office," she replied.

He nodded.

When Selena left, Lucian found himself smiling again.

He couldn't deny that something had been changing since Selena came into his life.

He was slowly becoming attached to her, but he didn't want to admit it.

He had sworn never to fall in love again.

After work, Selena went to inform him that she was leaving as usual.

But Lucian stopped her.

"Actually, my mom wants you to come for dinner."

"Me?" Selena asked, looking confused.

"Yeah. Don't worry. I'll take you back home afterward."

Selena couldn't really refuse.

"All right."

"Wait for me. I'll soon be done with what I'm doing," he said.

She nodded and returned to her office.

Five minutes later, Lucian came to her office.

Selena looked up when she saw him.

"Are you done?" she asked.

He nodded.

Lucian's expression changed when he saw the bouquet. He stared at it for a moment before looking back at Selena.

Selena noticed where he was looking.

"Who gave you that?" he asked.

"I don't know. I just received it this morning."

"And why are you still keeping it?"

Selena was about to say something, but Lucian spoke first.

"Get rid of it."

She didn't understand why he suddenly cared about the bouquet, but she picked it up and threw it into the waste bin.

It was beautiful, Selena thought as she looked at it, but she quickly followed Lucian out of the office.

They both took his private elevator and went downstairs to where his car was waiting.

Selena didn't want any of her colleagues to see her leaving with him.

Meanwhile, at Lucian's family house, Grandpa and Grandma were waiting when a maid came in.

"Sir, ma'am, someone is looking for you," the maid informed them.

"Tell the person to come in," Grandpa said.

A few moments later, Ariana walked into the room.

Grandpa and Grandma were surprised when they saw her.

"Wait a minute... Ariana?" they said in surprise.

"Is this really you?"

Ariana smiled and walked over to greet them.

"Grandma, Grandpa."

"Oh, my child. Come and give me a hug," Grandpa said.

Ariana smiled sweetly and went over to hug him.

"Where have you been all these years?" he asked.

"Don't you remember? She went abroad," Grandma reminded him.

"Really?" Grandpa looked at Ariana.

"Yes, Grandpa," she replied.

"Oh, why did you spend so many years over there?" he asked. "Come here and give me another hug."

Grandma pulled Ariana away from him.

"Don't mind him. He's getting old and always asks silly questions."

"Oh, you're still talking?" Grandpa replied.

But Ariana quickly stopped them from arguing.

"Grandpa, Grandma, it's fine. I'll answer all your questions," she said with a smile.

They all sat down.

Ariana looked around the room. "Where is everyone else?"

Grandpa turned to one of the maids.

"Go and call Lucian's mother."

The maid nodded and left.

"And Wendy? She went out with her friends. You know how children are nowadays."

"And what about Lucian?" Ariana asked.

"I think that brat will be home anytime soon, only if he wants to come back."

Just then, Lucian's mom walked into the room and saw her.

"Ariana."

"Mother."

Ariana had always addressed her that way before, so it wasn't unusual.

"How have you been, dear?" Lucian's mom asked.

"I'm fine," Ariana replied with a smile.

"So you've been abroad all this time and didn't even bother to come back to the country?"
