Chapter 26 - chapter 26_ bouquet

Mia looked at Selena in surprise.

"Good news? What happened?"

Selena smiled.

"Lucian bought you a house."

Mia's eyes widened.

"What?"

"He said he doesn't want me to worry about where you're going to stay after I move in with him. So he bought you a house."

Mia stared at her for a moment.

"He actually did that?"

Selena nodded.

"Yes."

Mia smiled.

"Wow. I really didn't expect that from him."

"Neither did I," Selena replied.

Mia suddenly remembered something.

"Well, I also have good news."

Selena looked at her curiously.

"What is it?

"I found a job."

Selena's eyes widened.

"Really?"

Mia nodded happily.

"Yes. I got the job today."

Selena smiled brightly.

"That's amazing, Mia. I'm so happy for you."

Mia smiled.

"Thank you."

Selena sat beside her.

"So what kind of job is it?"

"It's at a clothing store. The pay isn't bad, and they want me to start tomorrow."

"That's good. At least you'll have something to do."

"Exactly."

Mia suddenly looked at Selena with a teasing smile.

"But now that you've got a husband who' is telling you to move in with him, I guess things are changing for you too."

Selena rolled her eyes.

"Don't start."

Mia laughed.

"I'm just saying."

Selena smiled and shook her head.

After a moment, Mia asked, "So when are you moving in with him?"

Selena paused.

"He has not said the day yet."

Mia nodded.

"Then you should start packing."

Selena looked at her.

"You're not even going to miss me?"

"Of course I will. But I'll have my own house now, and you finally have a husband to take care of you."

Selena laughed.

"You're impossible."

Mia smiled.

"I'm happy for you, Selena."

Selena smiled back.

"I'm happy for you too."

That evening, Ariana sat quietly, thinking about what to do next.

"Tina, what do you suggest I do? I think he hates me, but I still don't have his contact. It's going to be very difficult."

"Why don't you go to his house?" Tina suggested.

Ariana thought about it for a while before asking, "Is he staying with his family?"

"According to what I found, he's is currently staying with them" Tina replied.

Ariana suddenly jumped up happily.

"Perfect."

She walked around the room quietly.

"But I don't want him to know that I'm still interested in him."

After thinking for a while, she picked up her phone and called her sister, Daisy.

Daisy picked up.

"Hey, sister."

"Daisy, I'm back in the country."

"Wait, when?" Daisy asked in surprise.

"A few days ago. I can't remember the exact date," Ariana replied.

"And you couldn't even tell me?" Daisy asked sadly.

"I was busy, Daisy. Forgive me," Ariana said with a small laugh.

"Fine," Daisy replied.

"But have you told Mom and Dad?" she asked.

"No. And please don't tell them yet," Ariana begged. "Once I'm ready, I'll go see them."

"But, sis, it's been five years since you left, and you can't even come to see us. Do you know how much we miss you?"

"Okay, fine. I'll come tomorrow after I'm done with what I'm doing," Ariana said.

"All right."

They said goodbye before ending the call.

Ariana turned to Tina.

"Tomorrow, I want to go see Lucian's parents. They would love to welcome me. So I want to look my best."

"Look for something nice that I can wear."

"Okay," Tina replied.

The next morning, Mia got ready for her new job.

She and Selena left the house together.

When Mia arrived at her workplace, she got out and waved goodbye to Selena.

After saying goodbye to Mia, Selena headed to the company.

She was actually in a good mood that morning.

As soon as she entered, she noticed everyone looking at her.

She became confused.

Then one of her colleagues stopped her.

They exchanged greetings before the woman handed her a flower bouquet.

"Someone bought this for you."

Selena looked at it in confusion.

"Who brought it?"

"The person didn't say his name."

"might be your sponsor, or maybe your crush," she said with a smile.

Selena blushed slightly.

She knew it wasn't Lucian, but who was it?

"It might be your boyfriend," another colleague added.

They all laughed and started teasing her.

Everyone except Anna.

Anna didn't find it funny at all.

Selena quickly excused herself and left.

They all knew she was shy, so they didn't think much of it.

A few minutes later, Lucian walked in and noticed everyone gathered together.

They quickly went back to work when they saw him.

"What are you guys discussing?" he asked.

Everyone stayed quiet.

But Anna suddenly spoke up.

"Someone bought a for Selena. It might be one of her boyfriends," she added sarcastically.

Lucian's expression changed.

"So is that why you all were distracted?"

Everyone went silent.

They were all scared, except for Anna.

She's going to be in a lot of trouble today, Anna thought quietly.

A few minutes later, Lucian went to his office and called for Selena.

Selena quickly put down the flower bouquet she had been looking at and went to make his coffee before heading to his office.

When Selena entered, she saw Lucian sitting behind his desk.

"Your coffee," she said, placing it on his desk.

Lucian looked at her.

For a moment, he couldn't bring himself to question her.

After what happened yesterday, something had changed in him. He just felt the urge to protect her.

He took the coffee from her.

"Thank you, sir."

"You're welcome."

He looked at her for a moment.

"How are you?" he asked.

"I'm fine," she said with a smile. "Why are you asking?"

He could see that she was in a good mood, but he didn't answer.

Selena didn't ask again.

"Um, do you need anything else?" she asked.

"No, you can go," he told her.

Selena nodded and left his office.

That afternoon, Lucian received a call from his mom.

"Lucian," she said.

"Yes, Mom," he replied.

"Why don't you...she paused
