Chapter 25 - chapter 25_ move in with me

Selena hesitated, then stepped closer. The moment she was within reach, Lucian hooked an arm around her waist and pulled her down onto his lap.

"Lucian" she breathed. "We're in the office."

" I know." His voice was low,

Before she could move away, he kissed her.

It was gentle at first. Then he became hungry like he'd been holding himself back all morning and finally stopped trying. Selena's breath caught, a soft sound slipping out of her before she could stop it.

She pulled back just enough to whisper, "Someone might come in."

Lucian's hand pressed against her lower back. "No one will."

But her words blurred when his mouth found hers again slower now, deeper.

Selena tried to stay quiet, but a small moan escaped her anyway, swallowed by his lips. She was embarrassed of the sound she was making.

But she couldn't fully relax.

The office felt too open. Every little sound made her tense.

Lucian kissed along her jaw, then her neck deliberate.

When his teeth grazed her skin, Selena gasped then another soft sound followed, one she tried to hide by pressing her mouth against his shoulder.

"Lucian…" she whispered, breath shaking.

He paused against her neck like he'd heard it like it made something in him shift.

When he lifted his head, his eyes were dark, but his hands had gone still.

"Lucian... please... stop"

But he didn't listen.

"What is wrong with you?" she said breathing heavily

He stopped, then suddenly spoke.

"Leave."

Selena was still trying to regain her senses.

"What?"

With a cold voice, he said again, "Leave." Selena was ashamed of herself so she quickly stood up and left.

That was when Lucian realized what he had just done.

"I shouldn't have said something like that," he said, placing a hand on his head.

The incident with Ariana had already put him in a bad mood. He knew she was about to cause something, and he wasn't ready for it.

Then he saw Selena, and he lost control of his emotions.

He didn't want to force her into anything. That was why he told her to leave.

Selena didn't want to think about it, so she stayed focused on her work after that.

By the time she finished what she had been assigned to do, everyone had already left.

When she came out, she noticed that the light in Lucian's office was still on.

Lucian hadn't left yet.

She was about to leave when she stopped and hesitated.

"Should I let him know I'm going?"

She sighed.

"I'll just tell him and go. It's not going to take anything from me," she said.

She opened the door and saw Lucian sitting there, holding a pen in his hand and rolling it between his fingers.

"I'll be going now."

Lucian was shocked when he saw her.

"Selena," he said.

Before he could finish, Selena turned around and left.

"Shit!" Lucian said.

He hit the desk and quickly rushed out after her.

Before Selena could reach the elevator, he caught up with her and stopped her.

Selena was taken aback. She never expected him to run after her.

"Lucian, leave me," Selena said as she tried to pull away.

Lucian didn't let her go. He led her back to his office and took her to the sofa.

"What are you doing?" Selena asked angrily.

"Calm down. I won't do anything to you, Selena. Relax."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken to you that way. I'm sorry."

Selena wasn't expecting him to apologize, but she was still angry, so she turned her face away.

"Selena," he called.

She didn't respond.

She was already feeling hurt.

Lucian gently turned her face toward him and noticed the tears in her eyes.

"Why are you crying?" Lucian asked, confused.

Selena looked at him.

"You kissed me, then told me to leave like I was nothing."

The tears started falling from her eyes.

"I'm sorry," he replied.

Lucian apologized again as he gently wiped her tears. Even he was surprised by the way he was acting.

"I didn't want to hurt you, but I failed to control myself and said it in a harsh tone."

Selena looked at him as he explained.

"Fine," she said.

She wasn't really angry anymore. It was just that he had brought the whole situation up again, and it made her feel a little hurt.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yes," she replied. And after he apologize and explained she didn't want to still be angry.

"I want to go home," she said.

"Wait."

Lucian quickly gathered his things and picked up his bag. They both left the company together.

"Let me take you home," he offered.

Selena didn't argue. She got into the car with him, and they drove off.

For a while, neither of them said anything.

Then Lucian broke the silence.

"I want you to move in with me."

Selena looked at him in surprise.

"And about your friend, she can stay in the house I'm giving her. She won't have to pay rent."

Selena was even more surprised.

She knew Mia would have to move out sooner or later, but she never expected Lucian to buy a house for her friend.

"And the house will be under your name" he said

"You don't have to do that," Selena quickly told him.

"It's fine," he said. "I don't want your friend to feel uncomfortable staying in my house."

Selena was touched by his consideration.

He was actually so considerate.

If only he was like this all the time, she thought.

"Thank you," she said.

"I told you don't need to thank me," he reminded her.

"But I have nothing else to say," she replied.

Lucian grinned.

"Then move in early with me."

Selena flushed deeply.

The thought of moving in with him made her nervous. She wasn't completely ready for it, but sooner or later, it was something she would have to do.

"Okay," she said softly.

"One more thing. We won't be staying with my family."

Selena looked at him seriously.

"Then where are we going to stay?" she asked.

"At my house," he said.

Selena paused.

Wait, why am I even asking? He's a freaking billionaire, and here I am asking such a dumb question, she thought to herself.

When they finally arrived at her house, the car stopped.

Selena got down and waved goodbye before walking inside.

As soon as she entered, she went straight to Mia.

"I have good news," she said.
