Shisui is the loyal type—so even after the clan's men, young and old, beat him black and blue, he still didn't rat Yorin out. Unwilling to give up, those men ran around with scarlet eyes blazing, swearing to catch Uchiha Yorin and have eight big guys hold him down for a thorough pounding.
Unfortunately, after several days, they still couldn't find him—much to their frustration.
Uchiha Yorin's homeless drifter life didn't last long either.
Namikaze Minato is loyal too. One look at the paper and he understood what was going on. Very quickly, the Hokage Building put out news favorable to the Uchiha clan.
Clan Head Fugaku is likewise loyal; as soon as the announcement came, he stepped up and placed Yorin under protection.
After that, there wasn't much for Yorin to do. High-level dealings were above his pay grade—"a small fry" like him didn't get a say.
All he knew was that over the next few days, Fugaku was in and out of the Hokage Building, sometimes cheerful, sometimes heavy-hearted.
At the same time, Mikoto-sama, the clan head's wife, was frequently visiting the Hokage's residence—don't get the wrong idea; she was meeting the Hokage's wife, Uzumaki Kushina.
While the clan head and the Hokage worked out the politics, the ladies ran "first-lady diplomacy." Both hands on the wheel; both hands gripping tight.
It's said Mikoto and Kushina were already close—best friends, really.
They didn't need to do the political heavy lifting—just show a friendly face.
Their laughter filled Konoha's shopping streets. Rumor even had it that the two made a pact:
If they both had boys, let them be brothers. If it was one boy and one girl, let them marry.
Uchiha Yorin: "Oh? And if they both have girls—who's supposed to be the harem then?"
Uchiha Shisui: "…"
Sitting in Yorin's home, reporting on the recent goings-on, Shisui fell silent again.
Typical ninja—recovery's quick. Two days ago his head was a lump farm; now he looked normal.
"Uh, Yorin-nii…"
Uchiha Yorin: "Alright, don't mind me—I was just kidding. I absolutely do not mean to collect 'Naruko and Sasuko' both. What else has happened? Tell me more."
Shisui found it odd.
For a ninja, intel gathering is basic.
He knew Yorin's strength. Even before the three tomoe, he was the famed "Flame Claw of Konoha"—solid jōnin.
After awakening three tomoe, he was just one step from elite jōnin—could break through any time.
And someone like that wanted him to deliver the intel?
Uchiha Yorin: "Yeah, the thing is, I haven't gone out much the past few days.
Wherever I go, a few enthusiastic Uchiha randomly 'spawn' and insist on a friendly spar."
Uchiha Shisui: "Didn't the clan head state it clearly—you're a meritorious contributor to the Uchiha?"
Uchiha Yorin: "Exactly. Which is why they're only asking for friendly spars."
Uchiha Shisui: "Wow."
After the initial surprise, Shisui found the clan's behavior perfectly reasonable.
Yorin-nii's great at everything—strong, quick-witted, loves the village and his comrades—he's just a bit too naughty.
So he looked at Yorin with shining eyes: "Then… Yorin-nii, can I have a friendly spar with you?"
Uchiha Yorin: "No."
Are you kidding? You've got the Mangekyō. Mangekyō against my three tomoe—Shisui, are you even human?
Yorin was about to give him a proper lecture when the Dumb System chimed in.
[Emergency Quest · Outshine the Uchiha: The Senju and the Uchiha have always been love–rivals. Every generation's Senju prodigy brings the Uchiha prodigy to their knees and wins their loyalty. This time, it's your turn!]
[Objective: Defeat the Uchiha prodigy Uchiha Shisui in a spar.]
[Reward: Yang Release nature transformation; major chakra increase (Stamina +2).]
Uchiha Yorin: "But then again… since you so politely asked, Shisui, it'd seem rude to refuse."
Hearing the opening, Shisui perked right up: "Oh-oh-oh! Then let's go to the training field now?"
Damn it, the look on his face—like he's already won…
Well, to be fair, he has a point.
White Fang is dead; the Third's going senile; Danzō's the sort to poke Susanoo with a kunai; Tsunade's got hemophobia; Fugaku stays hidden.
Right now in Konoha, the real fighters are basically Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Minato.
By that math, calling Shisui a top-five in the village isn't wrong.
If he gets mad enough to pop Susanoo and throw down Kotoamatsukami, Yorin would crown him Konoha's 1v1 king.
Having me suppress an Uchiha prodigy of that tier—the system thinks too highly of me.
But it's fine. The system can be dumb—and Shisui's not much better.
A "spar," huh? Since no one specified the rules, Uchiha Yorin would set them.
Uchiha Yorin: "Okay, we can spar—but no Sharingan eye techniques, deal?"
Uchiha Shisui: "Deal!"
His urge to pound Yorin was so strong he agreed without thinking.
Uchiha Yorin: "Also, you know my chakra pool isn't huge. Let's make it mostly taijutsu—toss a kunai now and then, but aside from Body Flicker, no ninjutsu, okay?"
Uchiha Shisui: "…Fine."
This time he agreed slower. Yorin is "Stamina 5"; Shisui is not.
You can't pull off Susanoo without a lot of chakra. Even now, not yet full-body, Shisui's Fire Style is nasty.
Kotoamatsukami's an ultimate with a massive cooldown—skipping it is fine.
But no ninjutsu at all—just taijutsu—means he's fighting at maybe half power.
Uchiha Yorin: "Since we're skipping ninjutsu, how about genjutsu too, we—"
Shisui: "Yorin-nii, maybe I should just surrender?"
Yorin: "Sure, you said it—"
System: [Quest · Pummel the Uchiha Prodigy—]
Shisui: "Wait! No genjutsu it is. Come on—fight!"
System: [—Progress: 0%]
Yorin sighed. So close to snagging Yang Release and +2 Stamina.
No matter. Just a bump in the road.
Yang Release and that chakra boost—I'm taking them.
