"Hmm... then shall we buy four more?" Wang Zhi asked the others.
"Fine."
After the discussion, Wang Zhi handed his Magnetic Card to the staff member in charge, swiped the card, and completed the purchase.
Soon, the weapon shop staff brought the Daggers up from the warehouse.
Ying took the Dagger and examined it closely in front of her eyes.
"Not bad, suitable as a backup knife," Ying said contentedly, looking at the Dagger in her hand.
Hiss—Wang Zhi sucked in a cold breath upon hearing Ying's words. A Dagger of this quality was suitable as a backup knife?
Before Wang Zhi and the others returned, they each bought some military backpacks and spare magazines for their handguns. Since the gun Wang Zhi possessed was self-made, it would also take a day to replicate.
The four of them spent another 100 Survival Points.
On the way back, Wang Zhi noticed that the number of people in the training hall was clearly double the usual amount, with many unfamiliar faces among them.
Wang Zhi's team had long met the requirements for promotion to a Level 2 team, but they had been continuously training and hadn't had time to process the upgrade.
Now, the four of them had stopped their training to maintain their optimal condition for fully addressing the upcoming external missions.
The four arrived at the ground-floor Affairs Hall and processed the team's promotion. The process went smoothly; during this time, another team even proactively gave up their spot to let the four cut in line.
Furthermore, far fewer people approached Ying to strike up a conversation. They all understood the reason: after the previous fight with Zhao Yang, the fact that a Level Two Team failed to gain any advantage against Wang Zhi was enough to demonstrate this team's strength.
Very quickly, Wang Zhi's team was promoted to a Level Two Team. The staff member also informed Wang Zhi that they needed to move to Room 007 in Area B within 24 hours. Since the team's member cap had been expanded to five people, they had to move to the Level Two Team quarters in Area B.
Meanwhile, those present in the Affairs Hall, upon learning that the Sunset Glow team had been promoted to a Level Two Team, all came forward to inquire, attempting to switch teams and join. However, Wang Zhi refused them all; he didn't want any opportunists.
When they heard that the team was about to head out on a mission, they all quickly lost their nerve and hurriedly turned away, not wanting to get entangled with them any further.
Seeing this, Wang Zhi secretly shook his head. These people were all filled with the desire to reap rewards without effort; as for fighting and bleeding together, that was out of the question for them.
As the saying goes, it's hard to guard against thieves from within the house; when selecting teammates, he had to be cautious.
After returning, the group began moving their luggage and belongings to Area B. People along the way saw them and began discussing amongst themselves.
Arriving at Room 007 in Area B, this space was about 10 square meters larger than their previous room in Area A and included an extra bunk. The four of them chose their bunks, placed their things, and the innermost bunk remained vacant.
Meanwhile, within the Dawn Tower, news of their upcoming external mission had somehow already spread. Some people had even started setting up wagers, betting on whether Sunset Glow would return alive.
Inside the room, Wang Zhi and the other three silently cleaned their weapons.
Wang Zhi appeared calm on the surface, but internally, he was terrified. He was about to start killing, and he knew that tomorrow he would face those fearless and merciless Zombies.
He was trying hard to convince himself that what he was facing was not humans, but Zombies, in order to alleviate his sense of guilt.
Fatty seemed to be in a very poor state. The usually cheerful man now wore a grave expression, constantly practicing the skills of loading and unloading ammunition.
Old He was leaning against the headboard, eyes closed, resting. Wang Zhi couldn't fathom what was on his mind.
As for Ying, she was idly running her golden Dagger back and forth, seemingly unconcerned about going out tomorrow.
"Sister Ying, we're going out tomorrow. Aren't you scared?" Wang Zhi couldn't help but ask Ying.
"Scared? Scared of what? If the living aren't afraid, why should I be afraid of the dead?" Ying replied nonchalantly.
"Then you have no concerns?" Wang Zhi pressed.
"Concerns... No," Ying said after a moment of hesitation.
Seeing this, Wang Zhi did not press further and wisely kept quiet.
Ten hours later, the weapon shop staff delivered the combat suits and magazines Wang Zhi had ordered the previous day. With eight hours remaining before departure, the four headed to the training hall.
Since they would be traveling by plane, they had to address the issue of parachuting for landing. Thus, the two began instructing Wang Zhi and the other person on parachute safety precautions and operational techniques.
As for why they had to parachute? The reason was simple: if a helicopter descended to use a rope ladder, the noise from its rotors would attract all nearby Zombies, making it impossible for the four to land safely.
After practicing for several hours, the group went to the dining hall for a final meal. After resting briefly until the designated time, they put on the gear they had purchased and stepped out of the residence.
On the way out, onlookers seeing the four of them reacted differently; some admired their commendable courage, while others were certain they were doomed. Everyone had their own internal thoughts.
Many people, upon learning that Wang Zhi's team was only Level 2 and consisted of just four members, resolved that if they returned safely, they would rush to join them!
In the Apocalypse, the victor is king, and strength is paramount. If they could survive outside, complete the mission, and return to the Dawn Tower, their team's capabilities were beyond doubt; following such a team meant a longer chance at survival!
Wang Zhi stared straight ahead. He paid no mind to the gazes or comments around him. All he wanted now was to fight their way through a bloody path and return alive!
A moment later, the four arrived at the preparation hall. Captain Adam from the Command Department directed them to Elevator Exit No. 2 in Area C.
Wang Zhi glanced at the time; it was just about right. He then headed to Elevator No. 2 in Area C. After pressing the button, the elevator door opened, and the four of them walked in.
Ten minutes later, the elevator reached its destination: a large warehouse. Inside the warehouse was a helicopter, and the pilot was already inside, ready to take off at the four's signal.
"Let's go, up we go," Old He declared, jumping onto the helicopter first.
Whirrrrr!
As the helicopter started, the metal plate above slowly opened, and the helicopter began to ascend gently!
After several days, Wang Zhi once again saw this dim and gloomy sky!
