Chapter 32 - My shameless protector

My brain short-circuited.

For a full second, I simply stared down at him—this infuriating, wicked-smiling man trapped beneath me—wondering why God allowed this creature to roam freely in society.

As if that weren't enough, fate had decided he would be my husband. Someone I had to live with.

"SHUT UP!" I hissed, slapping a hand over his mouth before he could spout more nonsense.

He still managed to laugh under my palm. "Wife, if you want to cover my mouth, there are more romantic ways—"

I didn't let him finish. My fingers wrapped around his neck instantly. He raised a brow, completely unfazed. "Trying to murder your husband?"

"Yes," I replied sweetly. "Very much."

"Oh?" His lips twitched in amusement. "And what will you gain after murdering me?"

"Mental peace," I said with a bright, innocent grin.

He chuckled. "Do I trouble you that much?"

I narrowed my eyes. "What do you think?"

"Not much," he answered without hesitation.
