I didn't know how long we stayed like that.
Time seemed to fold in on itself whenever I was with Rosy — like the world outside her arms didn't exist. I didn't want it to end. I never did. But it always did.
It had to.
We weren't allowed visitors during school days. If anyone saw us together, questions would follow. And if they discovered what she'd brought me… everything would fall apart.
The blockers.
My salvation.
My damnation sealed into small, bitter pills.
Without them, my scent would spiral out of control. Without them, everyone would know.
Without them… I wouldn't be safe.
I forced a smile that didn't reach my eyes.
"Thanks, Rosy."
Rosy pulled back first, her warm hands resting on my shoulders, eyes soft but worried.
"Dear, you need to get going," she said gently. "Don't worry — you can call me when you need more."
