Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE:THE MYSTERIOUS CREATURE.

I stood frozen, my breath caught in my throat,as I stared at the creature outside our cottage. Its slender yet muscular frame seemed chiseled from the darkness itself, with gray, textured skin that resembled stone or bone. Sharp protrusions and intricate patterns adorned its body, adding to its menacing presence.

The creature's elongated head bore a sinister, partially skeletal visage and its red eye an intense malevolent aura.

I watched Grandmother fight through the window. Her movement swift and sure despite her age,but that thing was not human. Not once had she managed to land an attack.

Though the creature carried no weapon, its thin arms that ended in claws-like extension and elongated fingers promise nothing but death.

Tearing into the ground as if it were paper. Its movement were swift, calculated and precise, nothing a human body can do. It ran with the speed of a raging torrent.

she struggled to keep up. The moment she finally managed to strike, the blow was answered with something worse.

My stomach twisted, and the air froze in my lungs. A soundless gasp clung to my throat as I saw its claws bury deep into her chest... right where her heart might be.

It slowly drew out its claws, then seized her arms. The sound that followed left me in complete horror. Did it just break those bones?. I clenched my phone as Grandmother screamed.

"Thalia don't come out,no matter what happens" Grandmother had warned me earlier,

"Promise me you won't come out" I had only nodded, but my heart pounded with a different promise.

No...I never truly promise. I only nodded. I couldn't just sit and listen to her bones break. She was all I had.

Without thinking twice,I darted to my room and seized my sword.

The moment I stepped outside, the creature's gaze snapped to me. It flung Grandmother aside as though she weighed nothing.

"Grandmother!"I cried, rushing toward her.

But I froze when searing pain tore across the back of my neck as the creature's claws raked my flesh. Then it slashed across my stomach and hurled me aside. I crashed beside Grandmother.

I leaned up kneeling besides her.

" Grandmother, are you okay?"I asked. She narrowed her eyes at me despite the pain.

I knew she might be angry for disobeying, but all that mattered was her condition.

" Foolish girl. I told you to stay indoor!" She whispered in a weak voice.

"I couldn't let you die" I muttered, my word caught, splinting into a whisper as my throat tightened.

Her lips trembled, as if she wanted to say more, but the creature's step shook the earth.

" Hang on" I told her,my voice firm despite the fear clawing at my heart.

"How about we play a game?"

I unsheathed my sword and pointed it toward the monster. Heat surged through my chest, my grip on the sword trembling as rage pressed against my ribs.

The creature only stared, which annoyed me further. If only I could rip out those eyes, nothing would make me happier.

I already know I can't defeat it...but maybe a few tricks will do.

Using my supernatural speed, I darted in circles around the creature, hoping it disorient it.

'I can't kill this thing 'I thought, but maybe I can outsmart it.

The creature didn't move,it just stood there, rooted to ground,as if bracing itself.

Seizing the moment, I lunged, slashing upward and then downward, my blade cutting deep into its arm. Both limbs fell.

For a heartbeat, satisfaction flickered through me. But then the wound sealed, and the limbs grew back, fresh and whole.

The satisfaction drained from me as flesh knit itself together before my eyes. My grip tightened on the sword until my knuckles ached.

What is this thing planning? Why isn't it attacking?

" What do you want"I demanded,my voice rang out sharper than I felt, even as my chest thudded with uneven beats.

The creature only stared, unblinking. Then it stepped towards me.

"What's the reason behind this attack?"

"I should be sleeping, not fighting a nightmare!"I shouted, stepping back as it advanced.

" Stop"My voice cracked, sweat trickled down my temple.

The creature ignored me.I raised my sword again, but with aflick of its hand, the blade flew from my grasp.

In a blink, it was before me.Its clawed hand wrapped around my throat and lifted me off the ground.

I kicked and clawed at its arm, gasping for air,but its grip was unyielding. Then without warning,it hurled me to the ground.

Pain shot through my body as I scrambled backward, dragging myself away.

" Wh..wh...what" words stumbled from my trembling lips,my arms quivering as if they no longer obeyed me.

The creature just stared at me that I started to wonder if something was wrong with me. It com Plex features made its Expression unreadable. Then its gaze shifted behind me.

'What is it looking at?' The question lingered in my mouth.

My heart pounded. I turned my head slowly, dreading what I might see. But there was nothing.

And when I turned my gaze forward, the monster was gone.

Only then did I realize I had been holding my breath. I Gasped for air yet.... something else came with it.
