Chapter 1 - Short story No. 1: Lucky

If I look at her, I can't help but think, "What have I done in my past life to be so lucky?"

Because of that, I don't want to consider myself a good-natured person; I just follow my parents' upbringing.

Could this be what led me to her?

Personally, I don't think so, but that's beside the point.

Sitting across from her, while the breeze from the fan ruffles her straight, beautiful black hair a little, I fondly think, "I can't stop thinking every day how lucky I am to have you by my side."

"What?" she asks, typing on her laptop with enviable concentration, only to be suddenly distracted by a faint blush that spread across her freckled cheeks.

Our eyes met, and I was almost mesmerized by the beauty of her brown eyes.

"Did I say that out loud?" I asked, to which she nodded.

The way she nods at my question is sweet, which touches me and makes me smile.

"Well, as you heard… I can't stop thinking every day how lucky I am to have you by my side", I repeated.

Her angelic smile, coupled with the sudden sparkle in her eyes and the natural blush on her cheeks, confirms what I think and said… That I am truly lucky to have her by my side.
