Chapter 19 - # Chapter 19: Jessica-chan~~~

"Name!"

"Ooh~~ Um...Well... Jessica..."

"Age!"

"Eigh... Eighteen..."

"Occupation!"

"Mercen...ary..."

In the L.G.D. interrogation room, Sir Ch'en, seated in the main chair, and another blonde senior superintendent, Swire, beside her, were looking strangely at the Blacksteel Worldwide mercenary across from them.

"Rice Noodle Dragon, are you sure this little girl is eighteen?"

Swire leaned a little closer to Sir Ch'en's ear and asked in a low voice.

"Her documents... do say eighteen..."

Swire looked up and down at the cute and extremely shy girl in front of her, who was only 147cm tall. No matter how she looked at her, she seemed to be only fourteen or fifteen.

"Age aside, are you sure... she's a mercenary? We've dealt with Blacksteel Worldwide before; they're considered a major security company in Columbia, but this is a bit... Shouldn't mercenaries be all tough girls and burly men?"

"How should I know!"

Sir Ch'en rapped Swire on the head with her palm, then pushed the tablet in front of her towards her.

"This is the surveillance footage from the stage. Take a look."

The video wasn't long. Swire didn't even react the first time she watched it. Then, her eyes widened, and she kept slowing down the video speed until she could finally see 'Jessica's' speed on stage. It was almost like a bolt of lightning, severing the criminal's hands in an instant, grabbing the little idol, and dodging away. The surveillance camera even captured a loud clap of thunder.

*Hiss...*

Swire repeatedly compared the person in the video with the Jessica in front of her, wondering if they were the same person.

How...

They looked exactly the same, yet she couldn't quite believe they were the same person.

The contrast was just too great.

To put it in Swire's terms, it was as if the always serious and formidable Officer Ch'en suddenly clung to a boy's arm and acted coquettishly like a little wife... It was just too absurd to imagine.

"Um.. um... Is the deposition over? C-can I leave?"

Seeing the two officers in front of her whispering to each other, Jessica, at Lucas's prompting, finally mustered the courage to ask. If it were up to her, she would never have dared to ask on her own.

"Oh... right. Sorry to keep you. You can go, Miss Jessica. There might be a follow-up summons, so please keep your phone on. If you're leaving Lungmen after your mission is over, remember to come and report it."

When Jessica walked out of the Lungmen Guard Department, she let out a deep breath as if a heavy burden had been lifted.

She murmured softly, talking to herself.

"Mr. Reeve, I'm really... still not good at handling these situations. Being alone with the police is so scary."

Lucas: "You'll get used to it. After all, as a mercenary, you'll definitely have to deal with the police often in the future. Not bad, at least you weren't so nervous you couldn't say a word. That's progress, Jessica."

"Hee hee~"

A sweet smile appeared on Jessica's face.

"Because Mr. Reeve is here... so... I always have a little more confidence..."

"Hey~ Jessica, over here!"

Outside the door.

Franka and the others had already finished their statements and were waiting outside. Franka was still a little worried about leaving Jessica alone with those two officers.

"Senior Franka, Senior Liskarm."

However, as she ran closer, she was a bit surprised. She thought Miss Sora would have left with her company's people after her statement, but she was also here waiting for her.

Upon seeing Jessica come out.

The cute little idol quickly trotted over and threw her arms around Jessica.

"Sob sob~ Jessica, you're finally out! I was so worried you'd have to go to jail for hurting someone to save me."

"!!!"

Her own idol was actually hugging her! Jessica's face flushed bright red, and she frantically waved her hands.

"Jessica-chan, thank you for saving me~ On stage earlier, I was really... I really didn't have time to react... so... I was a bit impolite.."

Sora's crystal-clear eyes met Jessica's, and her stunningly cute face broke into an incredibly sweet smile. That smile could probably 'melt' countless male fans on the spot.

"-chan~"

Jessica's brain instantly shut down when she heard Sora call her that.

The word "-chan" comes from Higashi and is generally only used between very close people. Of course, this closeness can be one-sided, like fans calling Sora "Sora-chan," but Sora wouldn't call a male fan "XX-chan."

"Um... Jessica-chan, can I get your contact information..."

Even as an idol, Sora's face flushed a little in a fluster when she took the initiative to ask for contact details.

But Sora was also a little disappointed.

If only Jessica could maintain that cool, cold, and mysterious aura she had on stage...
