Kelsey glanced at Norman's profile and without hesitation, added his number to her block list.

She didn't want Rhett to disrupt her life again, no matter what.

Rhett wasn't a patient person, and Kelsey could tell from hislack of texts that he had given up.

The car pulled up to the entrance of the middle school.

Kelsey looked at her phone, its screen black, and looked away.

Norman opened the car door,unbuckled her seatbelt, and pulled her out of the car.

Instinctively, he put his arm around her shoulder,intentionally closing the distance between them.

Kelsey wanted to pull away, but she decided against it and stood stiffly by his side.
