Chapter 83 - Confronting Murakami, I Am the King

"Raven-san, President Murakami is expecting you." Smart Lady approached Raven with a smile.

Murakami had been immediately informed the moment Raven entered Smart Brain. Although he didn't know the reason for the visit, he promptly arranged for her to handle the reception. To be honest, standing face-to-face with Raven, she was genuinely nervous. She had witnessed Raven's savage and bloody side multiple times.

Raven simply glanced at Smart Lady and followed her. Along the way, Smart Lady, gradually getting used to the situation, attempted to chat him up using her usual cutesy tone. Raven, however, completely ignored her. This made her inwardly grumble that the man truly lacked charm, just like Yuji Kiba.

Upon reaching the President's office, Raven saw Murakami Kyouji already waiting on the sofa.

"Raven-san, I assume you have a particular reason for visiting our company this time," Murakami's attitude toward Raven had significantly changed from before.

Raven plopped down onto the other sofa and comfortably crossed his legs. He then stated, "I won't waste time with small talk. Smart Brain, including all of your Orphnoch, needs to listen to me from now on if you want to survive."

Murakami's expression instantly darkened upon hearing this.

Smart Lady was equally stunned, not expecting Raven to be so provocative, directly challenging the entire Smart Brain organization and all its Orphnoch.

"Raven-san, while you are indeed very powerful, our Smart Brain is not something that can be controlled arbitrarily," Murakami took a deep breath, trying to speak calmly.

"I'm not here to negotiate."

Raven looked at Murakami with a half-smile, and then a terrifying, immense pressure, formed by a dense aura, locked onto Murakami.

"…"

Murakami's body immediately began to tremble uncontrollably. This was the reaction an Orphnoch had when facing a superior being.

How can this be?

He was one of the highest-ranking Orphnoch. For him to have this reaction could only mean one thing: he was facing the King, the Orphnoch King!

But why was this aura emanating from Raven? Why hadn't the other man used this tactic before?

"Now, you understand."

Raven immediately retracted his aura, and Murakami instantly felt a massive sense of relief, gasping for air.

"Could it be… are you truly the King?" Murakami was utterly bewildered.

No one had ever seen the Orphnoch King with their own eyes. Coupled with Raven's formidable strength and his previous acts of hunting Orphnoch, it was hard not to draw a connection. Did the King need time to awaken, which is why Raven had been concealing himself until now? But wasn't the Orphnoch King supposed to awaken only in children who had survived a great calamity and lost their loved ones?

"You can think of it that way," Raven replied indifferently.

Having devoured the Orphnoch King, he now possessed the same ability to save all Orphnoch. It wasn't wrong to call him the new Orphnoch King.

Waiting by the door, Smart Lady heard the conversation inside and gasped, covering her mouth in surprise. Raven was the King they had been searching for all this time? This can't be a joke. It was simply too absurd.

After processing this information, Murakami gradually regained his composure. He then spoke with sincerity, "If you can truly save us, then it is only right that we Orphnoch heed your command."

Murakami's implication was that he wanted Raven to prove whether he could really grant the Orphnoch eternal life, as the legends claimed.

"Was the answer I gave last time not enough?" Raven said dismissively, picking up an apple from the table and taking a bite of the juicy fruit.

Murakami knew Raven was referring to the time he transformed Saeko Kageyama into an Amazon.

"Raven-san, while Miss Saeko certainly achieved eternal life, that method might not be applicable to all Orphnoch. We analyzed those things you call Amazon cells, and their risk is not insignificant."

He spoke frankly. He had been thoroughly researching the Amazon cells over the past few days. While the temptation was immense, there were significant risks. Instability was the biggest underlying problem.

"The method I've come to you with this time is naturally not the same as before," Raven stated. "But since you're concerned, then summon all the Lucky Clover members."

Seeing this, Murakami picked up his phone and obediently called Saeko and the others, informing them that he had an important matter to discuss.

After about half an hour, Kitazaki and the others arrived. Upon entering the room, they saw Raven lying back on the sofa as if the place were his own home. Among them, Takuma was slightly terrified and instinctively backed up a step.

Saeko, however, immediately brightened. She walked forward and sat down right next to Raven.

"Raven-san, it's been a few days. I've missed you dearly," Saeko said with an ardent tone.

Already a member of the Amazon family, she was naturally unable to resist Raven's charm. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she thought about him day and night.

Raven, aware of this, gave Saeko a knowing smile in return. He countered, "Since you missed me, Miss Saeko, why didn't you come to my café?"

"You have two lovely young ladies guarding your house! How could I go?" Saeko said with a hint of resentment, sounding like she was playfully flirting with Raven.

Raven didn't reject her. After all, Saeko was the first Amazon to be born from him, and she was quite full of feminine charm—at least her physique was much more voluptuous than Yuka's or Saya's.

Saeko proactively picked up some fruit from the table and personally fed it to Raven. This sight made Takuma extremely jealous. He wished Saeko would treat him so tenderly.

Kitazaki, however, ignored the display and immediately asked, "President Murakami, what important matter is so urgent that you had to summon us?"

"It's about this," Murakami said formally now that everyone was present. "The King we have been searching for has been found."
