BOOM!
Howling winds tore through the heavens. Thunder roared. Lightning split the skies. The entire planet trembled violently.
Barely over a meter tall, Gran floated at the center of the storm, his entire body radiating a golden brilliance. His energy was terrifying—wild, unrestrained, divine.
"G-golden hair?!"
"S-so this… this is the Super Saiyan form?!"
Blown a full kilometer away by the sheer pressure, Vegeta could only choke out those words before collapsing unconscious, his pride shattered.
"Hahaha! So this is the power of the Candidate God of Destruction?! Damn, this is way too hot-blooded!"
The Supreme Kai, Shin, struggled to withstand the storm of energy. His face had gone deathly pale.
"Lord Supreme Kai, please stop being so excited—I can't hold on much longer!"
Kibito, ignoring all protocol, grabbed Shin and took off at full speed.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Bolts of lightning rained from the heavens as Gran basked in the surging power within him.
"As expected… I really can transform into a Super Saiyan!"
He clenched his small fists, and the space around him quaked and rippled.
So this is the power of a Super Saiyan…?
According to the anime's old lore, the transformation increased power by fiftyfold—meaning his current combat strength had reached fifty billion.
"Hahaha! Vegeta! Do you see my transformation?!"
"How's this? Cool, right? Jealous yet?!"
Golden-haired Gran threw his head back and laughed triumphantly.
However
Apart from the thunder and lightning…
There was only silence.
"...Huh?"
"Where is everyone?"
Gran blinked, looking around.
There was no one left—only the shattered battlefield he had created.
Even Shin and Kibito were long gone, having fled who-knows-where.
"..."
No one had seen his transformation.
What kind of show-off moment was this supposed to be?!
He sensed Vegeta's presence a kilometer away—the prince was still unconscious.
"Tch. Trying to fake being passed out so you don't have to admit I'm stronger? Not that easy."
Gran was about to use Instant Transmission to move toward Vegeta when
Suddenly!
A surge of divine power shook the sky as a brilliant, seven-colored beam descended from above.
The newcomers were none other than Whis and Beerus.
The moment Beerus landed and saw Gran's golden form, his entire body stiffened.
"Damn it… we didn't make it in time!"
His face twisted with despair. He turned to Whis and roared, "Didn't I tell you to hurry up?! Look! He's already transformed!!"
"..."
Whis said nothing. But guilt washed over his face.
According to what his father had told him… this state was completely wrong!
Now what? Gran's talent was monstrous—so why had he chosen this dangerous path as well?!
"You…" Beerus began, but then sighed heavily. Seeing Whis's expression, he let it go.
Whis finally spoke, voice low and troubled.
"According to my father, if Gran transforms into that ultimate berserker state, he'll lose all sense of reason… but his power will rise infinitely."
He gazed at the golden-haired youth before them, then added:
"At this rate, every second he remains transformed will cause immense strain to his body. Lord Beerus, please—knock him out first. We'll deal with the rest later."
"Fine," Beerus growled.
Neither of them even considered Gran as a person anymore—they simply discussed how to subdue and carry him off.
Suddenly
"Hey! What do you two think you're doing? Why would you knock me out and take me away?!"
Gran finally spoke up. If he waited any longer, Beerus would've already acted.
After all, Beerus was the strongest God of Destruction—the one who once soloed eleven others at once.
Even with his fiftyfold boost, Gran knew he couldn't take him head-on.
"…Wait, what?"
Beerus and Whis froze.
"Loss of reason" — and yet he was talking normally?!
Both their eyes widened, pupils flashing with confusion.
Beerus pointed at Gran. "Didn't you say when he reached that… green-haired form, he'd go completely berserk?!"
Wait.
Green-haired form?
Beerus's eyes narrowed sharply. He looked closer at Gran's hair.
"This—his hair's gold, Whis! Didn't you say that berserk form had green hair?!"
"I… I don't understand either! That's what my father told me!"
Whis stood there stunned. None of this matched what he'd been taught.
Then, Gran stepped forward, smiling faintly.
"Lord Beerus, Whis… are you two talking about that legendary Super Saiyan form?"
Beerus and Whis didn't answer—they were too busy fussing over him like two old men inspecting a grandchild.
"Hey, hey! What are you two doing?!"
Gran stumbled back, fixing his hair that Beerus had just ruffled.
"Do I look like your grandson to you?!"
"You—you're not supposed to be lucid right now! How can you talk normally?"
"And what's with the hair color? It's not supposed to be gold!"
"And just now—you mentioned the legendary Super Saiyan. What do you know about that?!"
"..."
Beerus bombarded him with a dozen questions, Whis joining in right after.
Their overlapping voices made Gran's head spin.
"Stop! Stop!!"
Gran raised both hands, making a T-shaped gesture. "Hold up—first, you tell me how you even know about this so-called green-haired state?"
