Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Preparing to Go to Earth

For a moment, everyone's gaze fell on the little one.

Feeling all those eyes on him, Gran looked a bit uneasy—but he still spoke up.

"Ever since becoming a candidate for God of Destruction, I've been pushing myself to catch up to Lord Beerus as fast as I could. So, I trained like my life depended on it."

He lowered his head slightly.

"But that… was a mistake."

"A weary mind and body only make training less efficient—and worse, it can even leave flaws in one's martial path!"

"Especially after this period of rest, I realized that my power has finally broken through its bottleneck. I've learned that you can't rush growth. Balance between effort and rest—that's the true essence of martial cultivation!"

Gran spoke sincerely, saying exactly what he thought.

His young, clear voice echoed softly across the lakeside. As Whis and Beerus listened, their expressions grew increasingly satisfied.

"Damn it all!"

Champa suddenly threw his head back with a roar, then turned pleadingly toward Beerus.

"Beerus! I've never begged you for anything in my entire life—so please, just this once, let me have that candidate for God of Destruction!"

Beside him, Vados turned her gaze toward Whis and added sweetly,

"Your elder sister has never begged anyone either, Whis~ So why don't you hand him over to me instead?"

Gran: "..."

Whis: "..."

Beerus: "..."

Old Supreme Kai and his companions: "..."

Ignoring the bickering pair, Whis looked straight at Gran and asked, with a testing glint in his eye:

"Since you've recovered from your rest, I'm thinking of letting you begin dimensional training. What do you say?"

The moment he said that, everyone's hearts tensed.

They all knew Gran's dimensional level was already at the peak of the Kai realm—one more step, and he would become a true god.

A god under a hundred years old…

That kind of talent was terrifying.

"No."

Gran shook his head.

"???"

Both Shin and Kibito were stunned.

Why would he refuse? Wasn't he the kind of boy who loved training more than anything?

Gran looked down at his small hands.

"Whis, didn't you say before that I was too exhausted?"

"It's only been a month since I started resting. I don't think I've completely recovered yet."

Though his month-long sleep had restored his body and mind, his inner state and power had only just broken through their bottleneck—and that new strength hadn't fully stabilized.

If he ignored those cracks now, his foundation might suffer in the future.

"Ohoho~"

The probing look in Whis's eyes vanished at once, replaced by a smile of deep satisfaction.

Beerus, too, looked pleased. This little one… finally had a will of his own.

Nearby, Champa ground his teeth audibly.

To recognize your limits, to restrain your thirst for power…

Why can't I ever meet such a genius?!

Vados merely sighed softly, saying nothing more.

Gran blinked at everyone's reactions, utterly lost.

"Uh… did I say something strange?"

"Not at all! Not at all!"

Whis nodded approvingly.

"Although I'm your mentor and can create your training plans, sometimes—only you truly know what's happening within yourself."

"Like your recent breakthrough in both mindset and strength—that was beyond even my prediction."

"Even as an Angel, I can't precisely monitor every shift within you. That's why… you must learn to make your own judgments."

He had only asked the question to test Gran's judgment.

If Gran had simply agreed to continue training, Whis would've been a little disappointed—though he would still have guided him patiently.

But this answer…

This answer had genuinely surprised—and delighted—him.

"Huh?"

Gran puffed his cheeks and glared.

"Whis, you were testing me?! You're so mean!"

"Mean or not, you've passed my test. I'm quite pleased."

"I'm pleased too," Beerus added lazily.

Gran: "..."

Watching the affectionate rapport between master and disciple, Champa's eyes practically blazed with envy.

This was not what he came to Universe 7 for!

"I can't stand it anymore!"

"Vados! Bring out my Dodo Bird Eggs—right now!"

Champa had come to Universe 7 with three goals in mind:

First, to investigate why humanity's power level had recently skyrocketed.

Second, to see what kind of talent Beerus's disciple possessed—one praised so highly even by Kusu.

And third… to make Beerus taste the supreme delicacies of Universe 6.

The first two goals had only fueled his jealousy. Now, only the last one could save his pride.

"Yes, my lord," Vados replied softly.

Though she looked a little uneasy, she raised her staff.

An oval-shaped storage device appeared out of thin air beside the lake.

"???"

Everyone turned toward it, puzzled.

Was this the so-called top-tier delicacy Champa had boasted about?

When Gran heard the words "Dodo Bird Eggs," the corners of his mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Those? Those are just… regular bird eggs!

And yet, in Champa's eyes, they were the pinnacle of fine cuisine.

The sly Angel of Universe 6 really had her ways.

Sensing Gran's skeptical stare, Vados glanced at the boy, thought nothing of it, and opened the container.

Eight eggs sat neatly inside, glowing faintly.

Beerus narrowed his eyes.

"This… is the top-tier delicacy you mentioned?"

He peered at them closer. No matter how he looked, they were just… ordinary eggs.

Whis and the Supreme Kais frowned as well.

This is supposed to be the finest food in Universe 6? Really?

Gran let out a quiet sigh.

"Looks like it's time for another trip to Earth."

After all… how could a meal like this possibly compete—without instant noodles?
