(Wednesday POV)
The hindrance blocked the door with a chair. Uncreative but effective alarm tool stopping me from barging in without waking him, doubt that was his true plan. I swung the grappling hook and succeeded at aiming for his balcony.
After a few seconds I made it to his balcony door and checked if he left it open. *ching* it opened, fool didn't even close it, he's making this boringly easy. I walked inside careful of any smart counter measures he might leave if he planned for me to let my guard down.
I made it to his bed where he lay, not even Pugsley sleeps this unguarded. Oh I forgot that's the whole reason I'm dealing with this hindrance. I was midway through experimenting whether a guillotine can cut through my thick brother's head when he interrupted, I left him there annoyed at my lost in concentration. Now I need to deal with this hindrance who managed to work with Uncle Fester before I could. An insult to think he could rival me.
Pulling out the knife from dinner after I made father and mother tell of every weakness he might have, I gripped it tightly. Where should I stabb the heart? No they'll think it a crime of passion. The brain? Rather they not believe I envy his intelligence or lack of. The throat or chest are safe options.
I gathered my strength when golden sand flew out from him. I stepped back resuming a fencing stance but saw the sand form pictures rather then knifes. This power, I've never heard of it before, nothing similar at least.
The sand drew scenarios of a boy and his mother playing around, mundane. It kept going and I was about to decide to get the night over with when the sand turned dark. The hindrance started to cry and shift uncomfortably. The mother began to twist and turn, her legs breaking apart and then the black sand mimicked fire. It consumed the boy and then shot at me. I easily stabbed at and it dispersed. The hindrance went back to a slumber sleep.
I watched him breathe until the tears dried up. I'll let you live, you prove more interesting as an experiment. Walking to the door, I removed the chair placing the knife on it and leaving to deal with Pugsley.

(Elliott POV)
What a wonderful night, I don't recall sleeping so well in so long. I wonder what's for breakfast? Getting up to leave I saw the chair removed and knife on it. What the hell, is she threatening me or showing me it's by her grace I can breathe? I thought there Addams were this wholesome family and Gothic supermodels.
Opening the door I met a boy a bit younger then me, "hey names Pugsley, wanna hunt breakfast with me?"
"Sure?" I said nervously.
"Great, Wednesday never wants to. Says it's lack of care and time make the food tase horrid."
I simply nodded and followed suit not knowing we were going to bomb a pond.
"Pugsley sweetie the fish are lovely and thank you Elliott for accompanying him. Wednesday won't you eat your breakfast."
"Calling this edible is a crime to canned food mother."
Morticia sighed and spoke to me this time, "Elliott have you decided to stay?"
Honestly forgot that was an option and for a normal person leaving with the threat of getting jumped or bombed is a no. "Um thank you for the hospitality Mrs Addams but I think it's better I not intrude in your family any longer."
"That's a shame but I have to keep this book here for safe keeping I'm afraid. If it fell in the wrong hands it could be disastrous."
It was my mother's book she left for me, "you can't that's all I have of her. Give it to me."
"Elliott the men who did that to her may want this book. Would you allowed them to have it?"
I thought about it but felt I could take care of it, "Elliott, you didn't even remember it until I mentioned it. Sweet child there's much you need to learn about you, us, our kind. Let us help you."
A plan began to take root in me if I could put them to sleep I can escape with the book. Using my mental strength how Fester taught me I tried to put Morticia to sleep.
She closed her eyes did spoke, "nice try boy but you still know nothing yet."
The next thing I saw was black. I awoke again in my room however this time Wednesday had a knife at my throat.
"I'll murder anyone does harm to my family."
"So would I!" I blurted out.
"Finally some spine on the scary cat. The way I see you, not even a mass murderer would count you as a kill."
She really had a way to get under people's nerves at time and I barely knew her. "Just go I want to be alone."
"Just when I was finally having an intellectual conversation with you. Tomorrow night I'll be here leave the door opened this time."
"What? Of course I won't!"
She walked away and before leaving spoke one last thing, "speak with mother. You offended her hospitality. Then apologize to my family and perhaps we'll teach you a thing or two." And left.
Laid down on bed I reflected on my actions and knew I stepped over the line with power. I walked around the mansion trying to find Morticia and found her at the library. She was reading an old occult book when she looked up at me.
"Ah, Morticia I'm sorry I tried to put you to sleep with my power. Could you let me stay here where my mother's last keepsake is?"
She got up and kneeled infront of me placing a hand on my shoulder, "of course you can. It's not my desire to keep it from you but doing the correct thing is never easy nor comfortable. However if you stay, you must learn to control your power from whatever advice I can give. In a couple of years you'll join Nevermore, a school where you can fully develop. You must understand that we are different than a normie and are considered Outcasts child. Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes Mrs Addams."
"Just call me Morticia go on then, I'll inform my husband on your part. No worries he won't be mad. He knows you meant no harm since you got here."
I nodded and went to bed hoping tomorrow morning at breakfast I could have a chance to apologize to him or risk the grim reaper.
