Chapter 5 - Chapter Five

The morning sun slid softly into the mansion and for once Rina didn't rush out of bed she stretched lazily on the sheets smiling to herself her phone buzzed nonstop with news updates about R Empire every headline louder than the last her face wasn't public yet but her name Miss R was everywhere everyone wanted to meet her to interview her to work with her and she loved the quiet power that came with being unknown

Luis was already downstairs arguing on a phone call his voice raised and frustrated Bianca sat beside him pretending to look sad her fake baby bump showing beneath her silk robe when Rina walked down the stairs both of them turned she wore a white dress that clung perfectly to her curves simple but expensive her hair tied in a loose bun she didn't even look their way she just went to the dining table and poured herself a cup of tea

Luis hung up and tried to sound calm morning he said she nodded still sipping her tea Bianca smiled weakly Rina your skin is glowing these days she said Rina looked up and said thank you it must be peace of mind then went back to drinking

Luis watched her quietly the woman he married wasn't this bold wasn't this sure she used to beg for his attention now she barely noticed him every time he tried to talk she found a reason to leave the room she had changed so much it almost made him uneasy

Later that day he got a call from his friend Marco one of the six that used to laugh at Rina behind her back bro you seen this company R Empire it's taking over the market you better invest before it's too late Luis laughed saying I already plan to I even called my financial team to reach them Marco chuckled good thinking man whoever owns that company is a genius

At that same time Rina was in her office signing papers when Alex walked in looking too calm for someone who had just changed her life with his investment she smiled slightly when she saw him you should have told me you were putting in that much he shrugged I trust your vision he said then leaned closer besides I like seeing you win

She felt her heart skip a little but she hid it behind her usual calm expression thank you Alex she said softly he smiled you don't have to thank me Rina just promise me you'll never let anyone dim you again

Back at home Luis was on his laptop when he saw the latest update R Empire's shares had just doubled overnight the media now called it the miracle company of the year he couldn't sit still he stood up pacing calling his team we need that deal I don't care what it costs get me in contact with their owner

Bianca rolled her eyes tired of hearing about business and not about her she touched his arm saying Luis I don't feel well I think the baby is kicking he looked up distracted said okay take care and went back to the laptop she felt invisible

That night Rina came home late again wearing one of her short bodycon gowns her perfume filling the air Luis stared at her as she walked past him she didn't even glance his way she looked powerful untouchable and every step she took made him feel like he was slowly losing control of his own world

She went upstairs into her room closed the door and looked at her reflection in the mirror smiling softly to herself this was only the beginning the taste of freedom was sweeter than she had ever imagined

The next morning started with chaos in the house the maids ran around trying to please Luis while Bianca complained that her juice wasn't cold enough Rina walked out of her room wearing black fitted trousers and a silky red shirt tucked in neatly her heels clicked against the marble floor and silence followed she didn't say a word but her presence alone made everyone freeze

Luis looked up from his phone and blinked Rina where are you going dressed like that she didn't stop walking just said to work and picked up her car key he frowned work since when do you work she gave a little smile since forever you just never noticed then she walked out leaving him standing there

The moment she left Luis's phone buzzed again it was Marco sending him another article about R Empire the headline said the mysterious boss expands globally in record time he frowned deeper reading it he couldn't shake the feeling that something about the company felt familiar but he couldn't place it

Rina drove straight to her company's headquarters the new building she had secretly bought last week everything smelled new the glass walls reflected her image as she walked through the lobby workers turned to look at her whispering about how beautiful and calm the CEO's special advisor was none of them knew she was the one signing their paychecks

Alex was already in her office waiting he looked relaxed sitting on the couch legs crossed when she entered he stood up smiling you look powerful today Rina she chuckled you always say that he moved closer not too close just enough to make her heart skip a beat I mean it every time he said softly

They talked about business numbers and upcoming partnerships but their eyes said something else a slow quiet tension that both of them pretended not to notice

By noon news broke that a new investor wanted to meet the mysterious Miss R privately the message came through Alex's assistant who handed it to Rina she opened it read the name and almost laughed Luis it said

She leaned back on her chair her lips curling slightly tell him to book an appointment under standard investor terms no special treatment Alex glanced at her reading her reaction and asked do you know him she met his gaze and said I used to

That evening when she returned home Luis was waiting in the living room pretending to scroll through his phone she dropped her purse on the couch and he said casually I heard about a new business star R Empire ever heard of it she turned her head slightly and said maybe why he shrugged thinking of investing seems like a good company she gave a small smile yeah maybe you should

He didn't notice the glint in her eyes or the calm satisfaction in her tone he didn't see the silent game she was playing

Later that night she stood by the balcony looking out at the city lights her phone buzzed Alex's message came in meeting tomorrow morning with the potential investor confirmed she smiled softly typing back perfect

The night breeze brushed her hair and she whispered to herself this time I'll be the one writing the ending

The next morning the city was alive with whispers and news flashes. Headlines about R Empire and the mysterious Miss R filled every screen. People debated, guessed, and speculated. No one knew what she looked like yet, but her presence was felt everywhere.

Rina stepped out of her car wearing a deep blue gown that flowed perfectly over her curves and blue heels that clicked sharply on the marble floor. Her lips were painted black, and her wine-colored hair was pulled into a high Ariana Grande-style ponytail, sleek and elegant. She looked like a vision of power and grace, untouchable yet magnetic.

Luis saw her from across the street, his jaw almost dropping. She moved with that quiet confidence he used to dismiss, the elegance that could make any man stop and stare. His mind tried to process it, almost believing she was the woman behind the company—but he was too blind, too wrapped up in his own arrogance to connect the dots.

No one else saw her face either. Cameras, employees, and visitors only caught glimpses of her back, the sway of her gown, the strength in her posture. Her presence was enough. As she entered R Empire's lobby, people froze mid-step, whispering, craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the mysterious boss who had turned the business world upside down.

The security and reception instinctively straightened, guiding her silently through the crowd. Employees exchanged excited glances, their curiosity climbing with every step she took. The whispers grew louder: Who is she? The one behind all this?

She didn't speak, didn't acknowledge anyone, and that was the most powerful part. Her aura alone demanded attention, respect, and desire to know more. By the time she reached her office, the lobby was buzzing, eyes glued to her as if she was a legend walking among them.

Luis watched from outside the building, squinting. He wanted to move closer, to see her face, to finally recognize the woman who had changed everything—but he didn't. He stayed frozen, completely unaware that she had been the one all along, untouchable and untamed, smiling faintly to herself as she claimed her empire silently.

Rina's plan had already begun. Every step was calculated. Every glance left behind a trail of curiosity and chaos, and no one—including Luis—had the faintest idea who truly controlled their world now.
