Chapter 16 - Dangerous

Baron Strucker saw this and wanted to control Magneto to dodge, but the intelligent auxiliary system determined that the mouth cannon attack was too fast and the range too wide.

With Magneto's speed, even a full-power dodge would not allow him to escape the attack.

The only way was to gather tens of thousands of tons of metal in front of him as a shield, first slowing down the mouth cannon's attack, then dodging.

Unfortunately, imagination is beautiful, but reality is too cruel.

Because the power of the mouth cannon was too great, the defensive wall formed by tens of thousands of tons of metal did not slow down the attack at all.

So, a mouth cannon shot up into the sky, directly piercing through the thick metal wall as if it were tofu.

It then accurately hit Magneto, who was in the air preparing to change direction and dodge.

After the mouth cannon, Magneto had completely turned into air.

"How can there be such a terrifying monster in the World..."

Inside the Sokovia Base, Baron Strucker saw the screen turn to static and slumped into a chair behind him, muttering with a dazed expression.

On this side, Wolverine was overjoyed to see the Great Ape, transformed from Goku, take out Magneto with a single mouth cannon.

However, just as he was about to appear and call out to Goku to revert to his original form so they could go to Pinion to find Professor and the others, his expression changed.

Because after dealing with Magneto, the Great Ape did not stop attacking; instead, it roared up at the sky again and then proceeded northward.

Everything in the Great Ape's path was destroyed, like a monster that had lost its mind, was extremely irritable, and only had destruction in its eyes.

"This is... he's lost his mind!"

Wolverine saw the Great Ape, transformed from Goku, with blood-red eyes, destroying everything in its path. He was very anxious but helpless.

Not to mention his body was aging now, and his self-healing ability had greatly decreased; even in his prime, he would probably be instantly killed by a single mouth cannon.

So he could only pick up the Power Pole that Goku had dropped after transforming and carefully followed behind, hoping Goku could return to normal on his own.

Fortunately, New Mexico is vast and sparsely populated, and their battle location was far from the city. Otherwise, with the Great Ape's destructive power, it could destroy a city in minutes.

And passing vehicles that saw the rampaging Great Ape would quickly turn around in fright.

However, before fleeing, they would definitely take photos and videos to post on Facebook.

As a result, it wasn't long before news of a terrifying King Kong appearing in New Mexico exploded online.

There were pictures and proof, and more than one person had captured videos.

Numerous reporters, who valued news over their lives, began to rush to the scene by various means of transportation, even helicopters.

And even faster than the reporters were naturally the government's army and S.H.I.E.L.D., the strongest organization on Earth on the surface.

Washington, U.S., S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters, Triskelion.

Agent Hill, a beautiful Western woman with a high nose bridge, deep-set eyes, thin lips, and wearing a specially designed tight leather suit, knocked on the Director's office door with a solemn expression.

After receiving the Director's permission, she walked into the Director's office with her long legs.

"Director, something has happened in New Mexico. John sent intelligence!"

Director Nick Fury, a bald Black man wearing an eye patch, took the intelligence and quickly scanned it:

"Has the army gone there yet?"

"General Ross has already led a team there."

Hill nodded.

Nick Fury was a little surprised:

"Isn't he tracking Dr. Banner?"

Without Hill needing to answer, his mind quickly turned, and he immediately thought of the answer.

"It seems he mistook this Great Ape for the Hulk."

"Have Hawkeye and Black Widow lead a team of elites there to investigate which laboratory created this guy, and collect relevant data to bring back."

Nick Fury did not take the Great Ape too seriously.

Having witnessed Captain Marvel battle the Kree army, his vision was unusually high.

In his opinion, although the Great Ape was not small in size, as long as it wasn't a special existence like the Hulk, it wasn't really that terrifying.

The combat power of a modern army was quite considerable, especially since General Ross's subordinates were all elites, and they had specifically researched many weapons targeting the Hulk.

They were best at dealing with large-bodied guys like the Great Ape.

A normal flesh-and-blood body would have difficulty withstanding continuous bombardment from heavy weapons like fighter jets, tanks, and missiles.

He sent Black Widow and Hawkeye to lead a team, not to help General Ross kill the Great Ape.

It was to find and control the force that created the Great Ape, clarify the relevant experimental data, and prevent the emergence of a second or third similar enlarged monster.

"It couldn't be Dr. Pym who made it, could it."

As far as he knew, the Pym Particles created by Dr. Pym could enlarge and shrink anything.

"Oh, by the way, has Tony Stark been found?"

"Not yet. Agent Coulson has already led a team to Afghanistan to investigate."

Hill answered quickly.

Nick Fury nodded:

"Notify me immediately if there's any news."

Compared to a mutated gorilla, he was more concerned about the life or death of Tony Stark, the genius weapons inventor.

New Mexico, General Ross looked at the video of the rampaging Great Ape and picked up his walkie-talkie, asking with a frown:

"Have all nearby residents been evacuated?"

"Reporting, General, evacuation will be complete in five minutes!"

The soldier's report came through the walkie-talkie.

"Tank unit, prepare. In five minutes, focus fire on the target. Make sure to kill him before he approaches Alamogordo."

He had rushed over after receiving news and thinking the Hulk had appeared in New Mexico, but it turned out to be just a gorilla.

So he was not in a good mood now and just wanted to quickly deal with this gorilla, then continue searching for clues about Dr. Banner.

Five minutes later, on a hillside two kilometers away from the Great Ape, fifty main battle tanks locked their cannons onto the Great Ape moving northward.

"Fire!"

Fifty armor-piercing shells, capable of penetrating 960 millimeters of homogeneous steel armor from two kilometers away, accurately hit the Great Ape's back.

The Great Ape, over ten meters tall, seemed terrifying, but precisely because of its immense size, it easily became a living target for modern weapons.

Especially in an open area like the wilderness.

What was truly terrifying was a body size of about three meters, like the Hulk, combined with extremely destructive power and mobility.

Many high-power weapons simply couldn't hit him.

If it were in a city, it would be even more of a headache.

This was also one of the reasons for his repeated failures in capturing the Hulk.

"Boom!"

After the huge explosion, General Ross, who had intended to use the walkie-talkie to inform the troops to transport away the Great Ape's body,

looked at the screen displaying the footage and his expression immediately changed.

"How is that possible!"

It turned out that the fifty shells had indeed hit the target, but they had not caused the slightest damage; not even the skin was broken.

Even the Hulk, if hit by fifty shells simultaneously, could not be completely unharmed...
