Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 B-Class Mage

The surging tide of yellow sand, nearly two meters high, approached Ezreal in an instant.

Facing the yellow sand tide, Ezreal calmly raised his left fist with his right hand in a pistol-aiming posture. A blue light shone from the sapphire on the back of his hand, and two blue magical energies appeared on either side of his fist, condensing into an energy bow.

"Mystic Shot!"

An astonishing high temperature emerged from Ezreal's left fist, and a brilliant golden light condensed and compressed at the front of his left fist, then changed color to an even brighter white.

In just a few tenths of a second, the white light compressed into a watermelon-sized energy orb.

The blue energy bow bent, and the white orb shot out with a long, comet-like tail flame.

"Boom!"

A violent explosion sounded again.

The white meteor collided with the giant wave of yellow sand!

The white meteor, which seemed small compared to the yellow sand wave, erupted with astonishing power.

The moment it touched the yellow sand wave, this white mystic energy, shaped like a meteor, exploded.

The powerful explosion easily shredded the yellow sand wave like tattered cloth, scattering the sand throughout the Guild Hall, affecting everyone watching.

Along with the scattered yellow sand, hundreds of white light specks carrying astonishing high temperatures also splattered in all directions after the mystic energy exploded, igniting whatever they landed on, even the yellow sand.

The high-temperature white light specks had no flame shape but possessed a high temperature that ordinary flames did not, showing signs of melting the yellow sand.

"Oh no!"

Seeing this, Ezreal was startled.

Ezreal wasn't very clear about the power of his own magic.

During his tests last night, most were simple empty releases, then he controlled the magic to dissipate. He didn't even dare to use his ultimate, 'Precise Barrage', for fear of causing unnecessary trouble in the middle of the night.

At this moment, while he was very satisfied with the power of Mystic Shot, which was like a white phosphorus incendiary bomb, he felt he was about to cause trouble!

If yellow sand could be ignited, human flesh would naturally be even easier!

There were not only Fairy Tail Mages in the hall; it was noon, and many of the spectators were ordinary people.

"Ah! My clothes!"

"The floor is burning!"

"What passionate magic, Ezreal! What a man! Hiss, so hot!"

"Hey, hey, hey, you went a bit too far, Ezreal." Along with Gray's complaint, an icy blue chill permeated the hall, extinguishing the burning white light specks.

Although affected, everyone seemed only a little flustered but not angry. Even the ordinary spectators didn't mind, presumably accustomed to being accidentally injured.

"Thank you, Gray! I'm glad everyone is alright, I'm so sorry!" Seeing that no serious harm was done, Ezreal breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly thanked Gray.

Gray waved his hand dismissively, then gestured for the two to continue.

Ezreal nodded and refocused his gaze on Marcus.

His new friend completely ignored the near-miss of injuring people, keeping his eyes fixed on Ezreal, highly concentrated.

He trusted his Guild companions to handle the aftermath of the battle and had an unusually serious attitude towards the fight.

Marcus waited for Ezreal and Gray to finish speaking before attacking and saying, "Without defensive magic, getting hit by an attack like that just now is no joke, Sand Claw!"

Under Ezreal's feet, the yellow sand covering the ground suddenly seemed to come alive, transforming into a ferocious three-fingered sand claw and attacking him.

A golden light flashed, and Ezreal activated Arcane Shift, teleporting a short distance backward. At the same time, golden energy condensed into a spear, and Arcane Arrow shot out the moment he landed.

Along with Arcane Arrow, there were also three Sunshine Arrows.

Three Sunshine Arrows were the limit Ezreal could instantly cast at the moment.

"That move again, a blink or a spatial teleport?" Marcus's eyes narrowed. He retreated while asking, attempting to dodge the Arcane Arrow and Sunshine Arrows with a sideways leap.

"Hmm? Tracking magic!" Landing from his sideways leap, Marcus was shocked to find that the four golden energy arrows showed no hesitation, making a sharp turn and continuing to pursue him.

A sand wall appeared on the ground, standing in front of Marcus, and a sand whirlwind, like a tornado, appeared at his feet, pushing him away from the sand wall.

In the previous exchange, Marcus already understood that Ezreal's magic had high temperature and explosive effects. At such close range, even if the sand wall could block the attack, the shockwave from the violent explosion would be incredibly damaging, so he had to create distance.

"Boom!"

The fastest-flying Arcane Arrow was the first to hit the sand wall, exploding in golden light and shattering the sand wall.

The hastily condensed sand wall had limited defense, barely blocking the Arcane Arrow but failing to defend against the three Sunshine Arrows that followed closely.

Although the sand whirlwind at Marcus's feet tried hard to push its master away from the attack, it simply couldn't match the astonishing speed of the laser-like Sunshine Arrows.

"Boom!"

The three Sunshine Arrows blasted Marcus away again, tearing his clothes and leaving three trident-shaped marks on his chest this time.

"Neither, it's a type of teleportation magic. Marcus, be careful!" Ezreal replied with a smile. He had a strange feeling that as he truly unleashed his magic in battle, some information seemed to be stirring in his mind.

"Sunshine Arrow, rapid fire!"

Golden light shone from his left fist, and Ezreal fired nine Sunshine Arrows in a row!

Although he could only release a maximum of three arrows at a time, the interval between each release was only 0.5 seconds!

"I see, that's a good magic."

Marcus had scars from the Sunshine Arrows on his chest and back, but he seemed completely unaffected, still full of fighting spirit.

"Sand Claw, Frenzied Scratch!"

The yellow sand on the ground transformed into thirteen ferocious three-fingered sand claws, precisely crushing nine Sunshine Arrows. The remaining four sand claws appeared in front, behind, left, and right of Ezreal, striking at him.

"So the sand wave earlier was to create an attacking terrain? You're really experienced, Marcus!"

"But it's useless against me, that speed is too slow!"

A golden light flashed, and Ezreal activated Arcane Shift again, teleporting to a safe position. Just like before, he instantly fired three Sunshine Arrows upon landing, which, along with the Arcane Arrow generated by Arcane Shift, shot towards Marcus.

"I've been waiting for you!"

With the previous experience, Marcus responded calmly this time. A sand wall rose from the ground, directly colliding with the Arcane Arrow and detonating it. Then, three sand claws intercepted the three Sunshine Arrows.

"Sand Claw, Frenzy!" Marcus roared again, and a thick, earthy yellow aura burst from his body, blowing his hair upright.

The sand covering the Guild Hall began to churn, and sharp, curved sand claws, shaped like eagle talons, began to form, attacking Ezreal.

Brilliant golden light flickered in the Guild Hall as Ezreal continuously activated Arcane Shift, retaliating with Arcane Arrows and Sunshine Arrows, but they were all blocked by the frenzied sand claws.

The controlled sand basically covered the entire hall, and except for the sand around the spectators, no sand claws appeared. Sand claws were wildly twisting at the locations where the two were fighting.

With nearly twenty sand claws, Ezreal had nowhere to land. Every time he used Arcane Shift, he could only manage one wave of counter-attacks before having to instantly teleport away.

The power of this wave of Sand Claws was such that even Arcane Arrows could be directly crushed, and Ezreal had no desire to experience it with his own body.

Ezreal also didn't cheat by teleporting towards the crowd; after all, it was just a spar, so a normal fight was fine.

Moreover, as the battle intensified, Ezreal clearly felt that something in his mind was being unleashed.

Golden light flickered, and Ezreal moved between the ferocious Sand Claws, his movements becoming more skilled, and his teleportation speed becoming faster and faster.

With this teleportation speed, even Minato Namikaze would have to exclaim, "The Yellow Flash has a successor!"

"A maximum of three such light-attribute energy arrows at a time, with a casting interval of about 0.5 seconds, possessing explosive and tracking effects, and very fast attack speed. Basically, they can't be dodged and can only be detonated prematurely by casting magic." Gray, holding a wine glass, had somehow moved to the counter, analyzing Ezreal's intelligence.

"That teleportation magic can also be used continuously, and it seems to have no cooldown. I don't know if he's hiding his strength, but from what I see now, the Master has brought back a powerful companion this time."

Aside from his stripping habit, the calmness and intelligence common to Ice Mages were well-demonstrated in Gray.

"That's right, the Master finally brought back someone without any strange quirks." Laki nodded in deep agreement, though it seemed she was more concerned that Ezreal had no special quirks.

"Mira, what level do you think Ezreal's strength is?" Gray seriously asked Mira.

Although the current Mira had lost all her magic due to her sister Lisanna's incident, her eyesight as a former S-Class Mage remained.

"It's hard to say, but judging from the magical characteristics and power, he has strength close to a B-Class Mage. The continuous teleportation magic makes him very difficult for ordinary Mages to deal with."

"Ezreal is that strong! What a man!" Elfman also leaned in to interject.

Ezreal couldn't pay attention to what the onlookers were discussing; Marcus's Sand Claw offensive was unusually fierce.

"No, if this continues, my magic power will give out first." Ezreal's forehead was sweating. Acting like the Yellow Flash was cool, but it consumed magic power quickly. Even with short-distance teleports, after twenty-something consecutive uses, his magic power was almost depleted.

Moreover, as the number of Arcane Shift uses increased, he vaguely felt his body becoming lighter and lighter, with a sense of unease deep down.

Just as he was thinking, Marcus interrupted Ezreal's thoughts.

"This continuous teleportation ability is too cheap! In that case..." Marcus held his hands one above the other, forming claws, "Ultimate Skill, Desert Coffin!"

The ferocious, dancing Sand Claws in the arena suddenly paused, then burst apart. A yellow sand tornado, three meters high, appeared in the center of the arena, spinning wildly.

The yellow sand in other parts of the hall also rolled back, forming a sand box around the sand tornado, trapping Ezreal and the sand tornado inside.

"What a formidable move, Marcus!"

Ezreal was inside the box made of yellow sand, and the sand carried by the tornado struck his body, causing pain to spread from all over.

Although the pain was intense, Ezreal was sure Marcus held back. Otherwise, judging by the power of the Sand Claws just now, the force of these sands would definitely be close to bullets, easily piercing a human body. Now, it was just a slight skin pain.

"However, don't underestimate me, Marcus." Ezreal closed his eyes, recalling Marcus's position from memory, and activated Arcane Shift again.

As golden light flashed, Ezreal escaped the Desert Coffin, silently appearing behind Marcus. His left fist, enveloped in a spherical golden light like mist, aimed at the back of his head, with Sunshine Arrow poised to strike.

"You lose, Marcus." Ezreal said with a smile.

The Marcus in front of him didn't turn around, nor did he react at all.

"You're the one who loses, Ezreal!" Marcus's voice came from the counter.

Ezreal was startled and quickly turned to look at the counter. Marcus was sitting on the floor leaning against the counter, laughing triumphantly, raising his wine glass towards him.

"Sand Rebellion!"

"Bang!"

With an explosion, the Marcus in front of Ezreal disintegrated, transforming into sand whips as thick as human legs, instantly binding Ezreal.

"Sand Clone, I knew you were Gaara!" He silently complained, and golden light shone again. Ezreal prepared to cast Arcane Shift again to break free, but in the next second, his body suddenly stiffened.

Ezreal felt a surge in his mind, and a large amount of information poured in.

The effect was like his brain being thrown into a blender; blood immediately gushed from his nose and mouth.

Intense pain mixed with a strong, dizzying sensation like the world spinning. Under the intense stimulation, his vision went black, and he fainted before he could even scream.

Before losing consciousness, Ezreal seemed to hear everyone's exclamations and angry curses at Marcus... "Marcus, what have you done!"

"Ah! Ezreal, are you alright! I don't know, I didn't do anything!"

"Ezreal, are you okay?"

"Quick, save him!"

"Marcus, how could you be so rough with a comrade!"

"Is this how you treat your friends?"

"Ezreal, wake up, wake up, Ezreal..."

"His vital signs are very critical, quickly go and invite Granny Poluchka!"

"I swear, I really just let the sand wrap around him..."
