"And now, you will feel my wrath, bla bla bla, just die already." A massive wave of purple energy erupted from the finger of the man seated on his throne. He had horns on his head, and a group of people wearing armor blocked his attack.
There was a dwarf wielding a shield and a warhammer; an elf at the back, bow drawn and aimed at the man on the throne; a beastkin, claws bared and ready to strike; and finally a human, the light of all light, bearing the sacred sword of the gods, the hero.
"You monster! You've killed countless people, destroyed homes, and taken people as slaves! Since we were given the title of Titan by the goddess, my companions and I shall slay you where you sit, demon king!"
The demon king yawned. "Yes, yes. Come on and get it over with already. I don't feel like getting up from my chair."
The hero pointed his sword forward. "Titans, Go!"
The beastkin charged at the demon king, but a simple blast to the chest was enough to end the man.
"Noo! Carl! You bastard! I'll end you, demon king!" the hero roared as his friend fell before him. He lunged into the fray, blade raised, but the strike never reached the demon king's throat.
"Dude, come on. You're the hero, put in more effort here." The demon king flung the hero to the side and waited for someone else to attack him.
"Have a taste of my steel!" The dwarf hammered down on the demon king, destroying the throne and the floor at the same time.
"Since you destroyed my chair, you can become my new one." The demon king laughed, sitting on the back of the dwarf as his head rolled to the side.
"Noooo! Carlos!" The hero was now full-on crying, but the demon king yawned once more.
"You'll pay for killing my friends!" The elf fired a multitude of arrows toward the demon king, but they all paused mid-air, turned around, and then flew toward the elf.
They moved too fast, and before she knew it, she dropped dead.
"Noooo! Carla! You bastard! How could you do this?! What did we do to deserve this?!" The hero lost all his confidence and motivation to continue, falling on his hands and knees while contemplating life.
"Honestly, man, it's just my job, one that I'm sick of at that. Do you think I want to play the bad guy? Well, okay, the first few times were fun, but now it's just boring. Don't blame me, though; blame the higher-ups."
The hero had no idea what the demon king was talking about, nor did he care. He just lost all his friends, and he wanted revenge.
"Dieeeeeee!"
"Oh, it seems I exhausted all dialogue options. We're hopping straight into the cutscene with this one, huh? That's good for me, though. The quicker this ends, the faster I can leave this place."
The demon king just punched the hero in the face, and the man dropped to the floor dead.
"Okay, I'm done. Can I leave now?"
The world around the demon king shifted and folded into nothing, replaced by a black void studded with brilliant stars that barely lit the vastness of space.
"Congratulations on your 500th successful reincarnation." A woman made of stars said with what looked to be a smile.
To her right was a man with galaxies for a mustache. He jumped out of his seat, excited to see the demon king in front of him.
"Haha! You see! I knew he was the right one for the job!"
"Yes. He was very impressive. You really are the chosen one." The woman gave her approval.
"Jin, we're very proud of you. For that, we'll let you choose the type of being you wish to play in the next world. You can be a hero, a demon king, a crazy politician, a captain of an intergalactic military, you name it!" The man was eager to find out which life Jin would choose next.
The demon king, Jin, now appeared as a normal human. It was his original appearance. On one faithful day, he made a wish to the universe to be reincarnated in another world. Surprisingly, the universe answered, and he got his wish.
At first, he thought it was incredible—performing before two supreme beings and traveling through countless worlds, whether fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, or anything in between.
But after a while, they all became stale and boring. They promised that after his 500th reincarnation, they'll grant him a wish, and here he was now, standing before them getting that wish he wanted.
"How about sending me back to my old world, huh? I kind of miss the place." Jin smiled
"Earth? Why? You have no family or friends. You're an orphan." The woman even pulled up countless worlds he could choose from.
"Dick," Jin muttered under his breath.
"Yeah. She's right. Instead of that lame planet, how about this one?! It's a world where civilization lives on the moon since the main planet is a gas giant." The man suggested.
"Pass. Been to at least 50 of those." Jin waved them off.
The woman brought forth another proposal. "Ooo! How about this? A world where people breathe underwater?!"
"Yeah, that might be fun after doing it for the 100th time."
The supreme beings knew what sarcasm was, and they didn't like that Jin was using it with them.
"Just tell us why you want to go back to that backward planet?"
"Because I'm homesick! I want to play video games only available on Earth, eat food only available on Earth, laugh at how backward the society is, especially for needing to pay for healthcare. But most importantly, I miss my fucking bed!"
The supreme beings gave Jin a look of disgust. "All of those are trivial things that can be overlooked. The two of us will decide on your next world. Have a seat while we huddle together and press our heads on each other so our brainwaves can connect and give us good ideas."
'That's stupid!' Jin didn't say this out loud, though. 'Fine, you wanna be like that, go ahead. I've been working on a way to go back home anyway.'
As the supreme beings huddled together, Jin began weaving a portal to his original world using the abilities he had mastered over 500 reincarnations. The spell came easily to him. Now, after so many lives, he possessed more than enough power to sustain dimension travel.
The only thing he needed was something to anchor him to his old world. Luckily, he still retained his physical body and could use that to send him back home.
"Yes! That's it! We'll send you to a world that is super close to a black hole, and time goes by super fast!" When the supreme beings turned around to tell Jin the good news, they saw him stepping through a portal.
"Well, this has been lovely, but I'm putting in my two-week notice. Bye now." He jumped through the portal.
"Oh no you don't!" The woman used her power to stop him from fully entering the portal. "Get back here!"
"Fuck off, woman! I can't stand being your live TV service any longer. Find another channel to watch!" Jin grabbed the edge of the portal with one hand and shot a spell at the supreme beings with his other hand.
"You dare attack us?!"
"Really? You're asking that after I attacked you? Obviously, you dumb bastards!"
The other supreme being joined in and pulled Jin toward them. "You will do as we say, and you will go to this planet!" Both of them shouted.
"I'd rather read the terms and conditions of the games I play, even though I need to click 'I agree' to play them anyway!"
'Dammit! I can't win against them! I only have one choice! I have to separate my soul from my body. But I love my body! Ugh, I have no choice anyway.'
And so, Jin did the unthinkable: he separated his soul from his body. His body went flying toward the supreme beings, and his soul was ejected into the portal.
"Suck it, you bastards!" He flipped them off before entering the portal.
"Noooooooo!!!!!"
'Damn. This sucks. My body is gone. I guess that's fine since I used my soul as an anchor at the last minute. Still, my dreams of finding a lovely wife to take care of me are gone. Well, anything is better than what those clowns were going to put me through. So long, suckers!'
