Chapter 7 - The unexpected thing for me was that the speaker turned out to be a girl.

I turned my head and indeed saw a girl facing me.

The woman had a tall figure of about 1.7 meters, dressed in a sharp uniform. A fitted camo jacket paired with straight camo pants, she exuded a heroic aura.

From her ID, I discovered that her name was Jennifer Mitchell and she was also the team captain.

Seeing the man standing there daring to stare at her chest, Jennifer Mitchell became even angrier and directly said, "Hands on your head, squat down, this is the second warning!"

I still didn't move, and just as Jennifer Mitchell was about to issue a third warning, Sarah Moore rushed out, directly pulling my hands over my head, forcing me to squat down.

After doing all this, Sarah Moore also squatted down beside me, whispering to me, "What are you spacing out for? They really might kill you. Later, just go inside for the record, we should be fine, there's surveillance anyway, you were defending yourself the whole time... it's okay."

I didn't want to explain anything, just nodded my head.

Only then did Jennifer Mitchell relax, though she wasn't sure why, this somewhat frail-looking young man always gave her a sense of danger.

She glanced around, noticing clear signs of a fight, and when she saw that the one kneeling was Jack Hernandez, she was stunned.

How could this guy be kneeling?

He's the head of The Hernandez Family! Rumor has it, he's also the chairman of some business association.

Putting aside her thoughts, she directly ordered, "Xiao Hamilton, take the surveillance footage from the banquet hall and ask the hotel for a list of participants."

"Captain, what about the rest of these people?" Xiao Hamilton asked.

Jennifer Mitchell raised an eyebrow, her crisp voice ringing out, "Take them all away!"

...

At eight o'clock in the evening, outside a building in Brooksdale.

Sarah Moore and I finally walked out.

This time the authorities took everyone away just for investigation, mainly to get statements to understand the specifics of the situation.

The authorities also reviewed the hotel's surveillance at the time, and they mostly understood the situation, but what puzzled them was that the fight between David and the old man from The Hernandez Family seemed to have been edited, leaving only large patches of static.

Disregarding that segment, the entire process was a case of justified self-defense for David, so they naturally could not detain him.

Sarah Moore took deep breaths of the outside air, sighing, "It's still better outside, I really don't want to go in there a second time in my life. When I get back, I need a bath to wash away the bad luck."

I said nothing, aware that the presence of Jack Hernandez and his son still posed a threat to Sarah Moore.

Once I left Brooksdale, Sarah Moore would surely face the wrath of The Hernandez Family!

Whether for what happened five years ago or for Sarah Moore, I have to act!

"Looks like I'll need to find a time to meet these two," I murmured.

"What? What did you just say, meet who?" Sarah Moore seemed to hear something, tapping me curiously.

I scratched my head, concealing, "I was thinking, I just arrived in Brooksdale, and really don't know where to stay."

Sarah Moore slapped her forehead, recalling that David came to Brooksdale from the countryside to sell remedies. Given his financial situation, he definitely couldn't afford a hotel. If not for being delayed at the police station, he would probably already be back in the countryside by now.

By this account, it seemed she was the one causing his predicament.

Sarah Moore hesitated for a long time, finally making a decision like she had decided something important, "Alright, you can stay at my place for the night, I have a spare room, it's not big, but better than sleeping in a park, right?"

I leaned closer to Sarah Moore, smiling, "Director Moore, aren't you worried I might be a bad guy? Or is it that you thought I looked too handsome today and want to offer yourself as compensation?"

Sarah Moore rolled her eyes at me, pretending to look disdainful, "With your amateur skills, I won't even look at you, sleep if you want, hmph!"

"Sleep, of course, I'll sleep!"

"Who said you could sleep! Hmph, but just to be clear, I'm only letting you stay one night!" The words had just left Sarah Moore' mouth when she covered her mouth, realizing how ambiguous it sounded. Seeing my sly smile, she knew I was full of bad intentions!

Since the car was still in the underground parking of the Dragon Tiger Grand Hotel, the two had to take a cab back to the hotel parking lot first.

The taxi arrived quickly, and the two got in. Just as I was closing the car door, I looked deeply at the Brooksdale police station, sensing that a pair of eyes had been watching us the whole time.

...

After David and Sarah Moore left, a woman in sportswear emerged; it was Jennifer Mitchell who took David away in the afternoon.

The sportswear highlighted Jennifer Mitchell' curvaceous figure perfectly, her ponytail showing her decisiveness, her mesmerizing face also revealed.

She returned to her car, opened her laptop, and played the hotel's surveillance footage several times, slowing it down by a hundred times toward the end.

"The bodyguards of The Hernandez Family are said to be retired elites, why are they so weak in front of this guy? Is it a coincidence, or does this guy really have the skills?"

Suddenly thinking of something, she quickly dialed an overseas call.

The call connected quickly.

"Master Brother, are you on a mission... Sorry to bother you... I have something I want to trouble you with, um... Can you look at a video I sent you and help analyze the young man in it... I'll wait for your call."

After hanging up, Jennifer Mitchell fell into deeper contemplation.

At this moment, far away in Alaska, in the Sierra Mountains.

The mountains housed a roughly twenty-square-meter building.

This was the Eldoria's mysterious Phoenix Soul commando's safe house in Alaska.

The room was filled with various weapons, from small daggers to large guns and shells, emanating a murderous aura.

A burly young man in camouflage hung up the phone and sat down on a wire bed.

The next second, his eyes focused, his five fingers lightly clenched in the air, and a laptop two meters away defied gravity, flying directly into his hands.

"This little sister really doesn't settle down, with her family background, why would she go to a small place? And always finding me to solve cases, it's really troublesome. After all, I'm the captain of the Phoenix Soul commando, how come Benjamin White seems like he's got nothing serious to do all day."

Despite grumbling, Benjamin White obediently opened the computer, logged into his email, and downloaded the video Jennifer Mitchell sent him.

After a few seconds of play, he guessed it was a regular fight, and he looked displeased, muttering, "What's so special about this childish fight? Could the young man have been killed by these bodyguards? Quite possible. These bodyguards seem to be retired special forces, tsk tsk, it's embarrassing for a bunch of special forces to bully a defenseless kid..."

Feeling utterly bored, he casually picked up a sandwich and took a bite.

Suddenly, his pupils shrank! His entire body straightened up!

He stared intently at the young man in the video!

Slowing down each movement!

"This is..."
