Sarah Moore passed by an Armani store with me and stopped.
To be honest, she really wanted to buy David an outfit from there, because after all, a man's appearance is important.
If David wore such clothes, some people naturally wouldn't offend him. But when she thought of the prices inside, she hesitated.
Over the years, she worked herself to the bone at Radiance Group, bought a car and an apartment, and her savings weren't much. If she bought David clothes from inside, she'd really be out of money.
To go or not to go?
I also noticed Sarah's hesitation. I glanced at the store and it became clear to me.
I used to be the young master of a fallen family, so I naturally knew about Armani menswear.
When we came, Sarah had said she would treat me today no matter what, so perhaps she was torn about buying me clothes from inside.
"Let's move on, I don't like wearing this brand's clothes. The Adidas store next door is having a sale. I think sportswear is pretty good and comfortable. Besides, we've only known each other a few days, why buy me such expensive stuff? Are you planning to keep me?"
After I said this, I started walking ahead, but I hadn't taken a few steps before Sarah pulled me back!
"But what if I want to see you in the outfit on the model?"
"No need, they just slapped a label on it. Several stores nearby have similar stuff..." I said helplessly.
"But..."
Just as Sarah and I were arguing, we heard a voice exclaiming behind us.
"Sarah! Is that you?"
Sarah heard the voice and her body stiffened slightly. She then turned around and saw a stylishly dressed woman.
Seeing this woman, Sarah's expression noticeably soured.
I naturally noticed this woman too. She was decent-looking, but compared to Sarah, she wasn't of the same caliber.
And, coincidentally, I knew her too.
She was Kimberly Gibson, my and Sarah's high school classmate.
The reason I recognized her so well was because Kimberly was Samantha Miller's sidekick and would always bother me back in class, calling me trash.
Beside Kimberly stood a tall, handsome guy in designer clothes, whose eyes kept roaming greedily over Sarah's chest.
"Sarah, I didn't expect it to really be you. Why didn't you come to last year's class reunion? I heard you work at Radiance Group? Selling beauty products? These days, selling beauty products doesn't earn much. I suggest you find a rich guy to marry, much easier~"
In her words, Kimberly was full of arrogance. Her family was well-off—although not on the level of Samantha's, it was enough for her to show off.
And she knew during high school that Sarah's family was poor. Had it been otherwise, Sarah wouldn't have skipped college right after graduation to work.
Sarah glanced at Kimberly, not wanting to speak, and just as she was about to pull me away, Kimberly spoke again: "Oh, Sarah, it's been years and you have a boyfriend now, but...this boyfriend of yours doesn't seem great, besides being somewhat good-looking, this taste in clothes...tsk tsk tsk...he's probably as poor as you.
Well, it makes sense, poor people stick together. But to be honest, your boyfriend looks really familiar."
Kimberly frowned as if she was thinking about something, then suddenly clapped her thigh and laughed: "Right, do you remember five years ago, that Johnson Family loser? The toad who wanted to eat swan meat and even dared to confess to my Samantha. Your boyfriend, I must say, really resembles that Johnson loser. It's just a pity that loser died so early, otherwise my Samantha would have wanted to toy with him some more."
My face suddenly turned cold. I never expected that after all these years, these ants still obsessed over what happened back then.
Just as I was about to shut them up, Sarah stepped forward, pointed at Kimberly, and yelled: "The person is gone, is it good for you to mock a dead person like this? Also, Kimberly, don't pretend like we're close. We had no interaction after graduation!"
With that, Sarah directly dragged me toward the Armani store!
Initially, she hesitated about buying David those clothes, but now she made up her mind! Even if it bankrupted her, she was going to buy!
She wanted to show everyone that she, Sarah Moore, was doing just fine!
Sarah forcibly dragged me into the store.
Kimberly and her boyfriend glanced at the store and sneered: "A poor bastard, trying to shop at Armani? Let's see how you do it!"
"Will, look how dirty your clothes are. Why don't we get a few sets too?"
Kimberly cooed, clinging to his arm and shaking it unceasingly, her voice so soft it made him a bit uncomfortable.
"Of course, buy all you want. You should know my net worth could buy this entire store. But...can I have a friend over tonight to play? Those kinds of games..." Will licked his lips, quite excited.
Kimberly's eyes showed a hint of disgust, but to please the man in front of her, she shyly nodded: "You men are so naughty~"
...
Inside the Armani store.
The store assistant looked at my and Sarah's attire, a bit puzzled, but still greeted us quite politely.
Sarah didn't really understand men's clothing. Seeing Kimberly and her companion about to come in, she could only point at the set of clothes on the mannequin and said fairly strongly: "That...take down that outfit from the mannequin, we want that set."
The store assistant was somewhat at a loss. It was the first time she saw a customer buy clothes like this, not even trying them on?
Moreover, the outfit in the window was a limited edition, priced at several hundred thousand.
"Miss, won't you let your boyfriend try it on?" the store assistant asked quite politely.
Sarah blushed when she heard the words boyfriend: "No...no need. His build is similar to the mannequin, it should fit just right. Wrap it for me, we'll check out…"
Just as she finished speaking, an untimely voice came from behind:
"Oh, Sarah, you want to buy this outfit? Did I hear right? Do you know what this costs? This is Wayne's latest design. Martinez't make a fool of yourself trying to save face~"
Sarah was really fed up with Kimberly, who was like a haunting spirit. She didn't care about the price anymore and said directly to the store assistant: "Quickly wrap it up for me, we're in a hurry…"
The store assistant didn't say anything further, directly heading to the counter for checkout. She then said with a smile: "Miss, since your purchase exceeds 200,000, we've automatically upgraded you to a prestigious Armani member. You enjoy a 5% discount on new items, after the discount, the total is 390,000…"
Hearing 390,000, Sarah's hand stopped suddenly as she was about to take out her bank card!
Damn?
390,000 for a set of clothes?
What a joke, even luxury goods aren't this pricey!
Even more crucially, her bank card only had about 300,000 in it!
