Chapter 29 - Chapter 29 - I Can Both Cure You

After Samuel Thompson left, Kimberly Gibson came back to her senses from a daze and tugged at Will James' hand: "Will, what should we do now..."

Hearing her whiny voice, Will couldn't hold back any longer and slapped Kimberly across the face!

"It's all because of you, you filthy whore, that I've lost everything! How dare you ask me what to do? Go die! Dig a hole and bury yourself!"

Will seemed unsatisfied, further kicking Kimberly in the body!

"I'm telling you, Kimberly, you'd better put away those dog eyes of yours! Otherwise, no one will be able to save you! Get lost!"

Kimberly's face went pale, her eyes lost the spark they once had.

She knew that there was no future for her and Will anymore.

The cars, houses that Will gifted her, were likely to be taken back by him.

She stared intently at the receding figures of David Johnson and Sarah Moore, her fists clenched tightly.

It's all their fault!

If it weren't for those two, how could everything she had be destroyed!

She had always thought she was superior and that her nobility couldn't be compared to a Cinderella like Sarah Moore.

She envied Sarah's appearance and figure, and whenever she had the chance, she would mock this low-born woman!

It was like that five years ago, and it should have been like that five years later too!

But she never realized that unknowingly, she had already been left far behind by Sarah!

She was curious though, who exactly was the man beside Sarah?

Someone who even made Megan Lopez of the Thompson family bow and scrape.

Megan seemed to call him Mr. Johnson? Could he have the last name Miller?

There shouldn't be any Miller family in Northridge Province, then is there one in Brooksdale?

Doesn't seem like it.

No, wait! There's a Miller family that was wiped out!

Suddenly, a name flashed in Kimberly's mind—David Johnson!

That Miller family loser! The one who confessed to Samantha Miller and was humiliatingly rejected!

Considering the relationship between Sarah and that man, it's possible that mysterious man is indeed David Johnson!

Thinking of this, her mouth hung open, and her pupils were filled with terror.

"David Johnson... he's not dead? How is it possible? Is he back?"

After a while, Kimberly managed to suppress her inner shock and, without hesitation, pulled out her phone, dialing a familiar yet unfamiliar number.

The call finally connected, and a somewhat cold voice came through: "What do you want from me?"

"Sam, I have something very important to tell you!"

"What is it? Speak!" The voice on the other end sounded a bit impatient.

"I... I think I saw David Johnson..."

"What!" A sound of something breaking came from the other end, probably a phone dropping, and after a while, a female voice came again, "Which David Johnson? Our high school classmate? The Miller family loser?"

"I think... it's him, but I'm not entirely sure."

"Two hours later, come to my family house!"

The call ended abruptly.

I spent a whole hour shopping with Sarah, buying five or six pieces of clothing.

Although Sarah said there was no need, her eyes would light up whenever they entered a women's clothing store, as she couldn't resist beautiful clothes.

However, during this trip, Sarah only bought some discounted clothes, spending just one or two thousand dollars of my money.

I several times suggested that Sarah shouldn't look at the prices, but she refused every time.

With no other choice, I let Sarah choose freely.

"These days, you really can't find a woman like this."

During that hour, I also noticed Samuel Thompson trailing behind us, as if wanting to speak but holding back.

I didn't pay much attention, letting him follow.

A dying man couldn't stir any waves in my eyes anyway.

After buying the clothes, Sarah and I went by elevator to the underground parking lot, found the car, and were about to put down the clothes when Samuel Thompson came over holding a bunch of other clothes.

"What are you doing here?" I frowned, somewhat displeased.

Samuel awkwardly smiled, put the clothes on Sarah's car, and respectfully said, "Mr. Johnson, you've misunderstood me. I'm not here for you; I'm here for this young lady."

Sarah pointed at herself with an odd expression and curiously asked, "Mr. Thompson, what do you want with me?"

Only then did Samuel present a bank card, saying seriously, "Since miss, you know my identity, I won't introduce myself further. I'm here, actually, to apologize to you personally. Earlier, an employee of our group maliciously insulted you. This was due to my poor management, and this card is a token of sincerity from Summit Group. Please accept it."

Sarah glanced at the card, knowing well it contained no less than five million, but she certainly wasn't going to take such inexplicable money.

"There's no need for money; earlier, the incident didn't cause me any loss. Please, Mr. Thompson, take it back,"

Sarah decisively refused.

Being the sly person he is, Samuel knew she would refuse, so he retrieved the card and pointed at the clothes on the car, saying, "Since you won't take the money, these clothes should be alright, no? I picked them randomly; they aren't expensive anyway. The key is if you return them to me, I can't wear them."

It was only then that Sarah noticed the clothes, quickly revealing surprise because they were the ones she tried on earlier and really liked but didn't buy to avoid extravagantly using my money.

Even when she got back into the car, she somewhat regretted not getting them. She never expected Samuel to send all the clothes she liked over.

Even though she loved them, Sarah still refused, "I'm sorry, Mr. Thompson, I don't need these either, your gesture is appreciated."

I naturally observed the delight in Sarah's eyes and said, "Since Mr. Thompson is so considerate, Sarah, you should accept them. He can't wear them himself."

It must be said, Samuel had some tact to sit in his position.

He knew he couldn't please me, so he found a breakthrough with Sarah.

During their entire shopping trip, he carefully noted Sarah's real preferences, a skill of perceptiveness I admired.

"But..."

Just as Sarah was about to say something, I patted her shoulder and said, "You go start the car, and I'll be right there."

"Alright..."

Once Sarah returned to the car, I straightforwardly told Samuel, "This time I'm giving you a chance. I will come to the Thompson House at nine tomorrow morning. Aside from that, don't disturb my life or the people around me, or I can both cure you and take your life back.

Moreover, the fee for the second phase of the treatment will increase to eighty million."

Upon hearing this, Samuel started trembling all over! His eyes were red!

Nobody knew what he was feeling right now!

He had followed me for over an hour just waiting for these words!

Since Mr. Johnson said so, it meant Samuel Thompson could keep living!

"Thank you... Mr. Johnson... Thank you, you're like a second father to me. If you have any needs, Samuel will do anything to serve you!"

These words came genuinely from Samuel's heart.

Because his life was saved by me!

As long as I nodded, he had the right to continue living!

I didn't respond to Samuel, simply opened the car door and sat inside.

Soon, the car vanished from the Central Plaza underground garage...

Leaving behind Samuel Thompson, who had a complex expression, secretly wiping away tears.
