Chapter 12 - What Is Disgrace?

"Everyone else is training hard to get stronger as quickly as possible, to kill more pirates on the sea, and to protect more comrades and civilians!" Koby pointed at Renji, shouting emotionally.

"It's one thing not to set an example, but you're indulging in pleasure here!"

"Your behavior is irresponsible to your comrades and civilians! Marine will be ashamed because of you!"

"Koby, stop talking, shut up!" Helmeppo, who had just caught up, rushed over to pull Koby, but the latter struggled free.

"I'm going to speak! Why do you all turn a blind eye to his behavior! Is no one brave enough to speak the truth?!" Koby's face was flushed, and his finger seemed to be trembling from over-excitement.

He knew Renji's strength. He was the man who single-handedly challenged the entire training camp and severely injured Vice Admiral Yamakaji.

Such provocation could very likely lead to retaliation from the man in front of him later.

However, to Koby's surprise, Renji just took a sip of Gion's iced coconut water and looked at him with interest.

That kind of gaze… it was like looking at an insect.

'Damn it! Not a single person is on my side!' Koby's face was grim, roaring in his heart.

Finally, he saw someone stand up, it was Miguel, the strongest in this training camp.

'Great, is someone finally going to help me?'

Koby's face brightened, and just as he was about to speak, he saw a tall dark figure blocking his front.

Miguel asked, "Boss, do you want me to beat him up for you?"

"What?!"

Koby felt as if struck by lightning. Looking at the tall man in front of him, who was like an iron tower, his legs couldn't help but go weak.

How could such a man call that scoundrel 'Boss'?

Impossible! He must have misheard!

How could a Marine disgrace like Renji be recognized as boss by the righteous Miguel?

The next second, Renji spoke, shattering Koby's illusion, "No need, I'll do it."

Upon hearing this, Miguel stepped aside.

Some other trainees in the camp also disliked Renji, but no one was as foolish as Koby, offering himself up.

Gion had no objections, and Tokikake was helpless against him.

In this training camp, Yamakaji had no objections, and Miguel, the strongest among the trainees, also had no objections.

This guy, however, jumped out?

[Choice One: Faced with Koby's accusations and curses, you choose to subdue him by force, suppressing him and stepping on him!

Reward: Infinity upgraded to Lv. 2]

[Choice Two: You choose to reason with him…]

When the first option appeared, Renji felt it would be a disgrace to even glance at the others.

He stood up, his pale blue eyes fixed on the short man in front of him.

Marine's disgrace? What is disgrace?

He would immediately tell Koby the answer.

Whoosh—

In just an instant, he appeared in front of Koby.

Miguel's pupils contracted at the sight. Even he couldn't react to Renji's speed.

Yamakaji on the stand also had his expression change. This kid's speed has increased so much. Even if he went all out, he probably couldn't catch up.

Koby felt a blur before his eyes, and Renji had already arrived in front of him, scaring him into retreating two steps.

Such astonishing speed!

But in front of so many people, he couldn't just lay his hands on him, right?

Amidst his astonishment, Koby forced down the fear in his heart and was about to speak when—

Thud!

Renji's fist slammed into Koby's chest, deforming him and making him vomit sour water. Then, a kick struck his head.

Crack!

Accompanied by a crisp sound, Koby's glasses shattered on the ground, and he spun in the air before heavily crashing to the ground.

"Koby!"

Helmeppo rushed over to check on him. Although very faint, thankfully, he was still breathing.

Damn it, he hit him so hard!

Anger flashed in Helmeppo's eyes, but when he met those pale blue eyes, all anger instantly turned into fear.

Koby and Renji were both petty officers, but he didn't expect the gap to be so huge. Koby was instantly defeated in one encounter.

Looking at the silent Helmeppo, Renji clapped his hands and said lightly, "This is what disgrace means."

A shout without strength, however loud it was at the time, would only result in an equally pathetic outcome.

[Ding! Congratulations to the Host for receiving the reward: Infinity (Lv. 2)!]

"This is simply preposterous!" A delicate shout sounded from afar.

Everyone looked in the direction of the sound.

They saw a beautiful figure in a pink Marine uniform rushing over in a rage.

Seeing the anger on Gion's face, Yamakaji muttered to himself, "Oh no, this old lady is angry."

Miguel clenched his fists at the sight.

Helmeppo, however, showed joy upon seeing the Vice Admiral badge on her shoulder, as if he had seen a savior.

Great, Koby! Your sacrifice was not in vain! Someone is coming to deliver justice for you!

Tokikake, on the other hand, secretly rejoiced in his heart.

Renji's speed in that moment shocked him. But this kid publicly assaulted a comrade, and Gion witnessed it.

Gion wouldn't like such a brutal and unreasonable person, would she?

Gion walked up to Helmeppo with a furious expression. The latter was about to complain when Gion raised her hand to interrupt him.

"You two, not only did you not train diligently during the designated period, but you also ran to another training camp to interfere with the training of excellent trainees, harboring ulterior motives."

"Guards! Take these two out, suspend their positions, and have them clean toilets for two weeks!"

Under everyone's stunned gaze, the accompanying soldiers led Helmeppo and the unconscious Koby away.

And at the last moment, Helmeppo looked at Gion in despair, only to see her wiping her palms and muttering something.

From her lip movements, it seemed to be this sentence:

"Seriously, you made me rush so much, I spilled a lot of the fresh juice I brought for Renji."

After tidying her appearance, Gion then walked up to Renji and said, "Training must have been hard, right? This is imported fresh juice that just arrived from inland. I was worried you'd get tired of drinking coconut water every day, affecting your training state, so try a different flavor."

"Thank you, Vice Admiral Gion." Renji smiled.

Looking at that handsome face, Gion couldn't help but tremble slightly. She had bled for the Marine, and made many contributions. Now, seeing Renji's smile, she felt that all her efforts had paid off.

Gion said with feigned anger, "How many times have I told you? Just call me Gion."

"I'm just a little sorry I came late. These two guys didn't disturb your training, did they?"

Renji took a sip of the juice, the taste was good.

On a hot summer day, with a beautiful woman by his side, it was quite wonderful.

"No, thank you for your concern, Gion."

"You were so fast just now. To reach this level, your daily training must be exceptionally hard."

"Haha, not at all, diligent training is my duty."

Tokikake, witnessing this scene, stood rooted to the spot, his eyes wide and his face full of shock as he looked at Gion.

That was imported fresh juice he had obtained through connections, intending to give it to Gion to win a smile from her, but he never expected…

Tokikake, looking at Gion chatting and laughing with Renji, felt that the goddess, who had always seemed unattainable in his eyes, had something shattered within her.

'So, the secret to boss's strength is hard training.' Miguel, standing by, secretly made a resolution to double his training volume later.

After Gion left, Yamakaji answered a Den Den Mushi, then said to everyone, "Attention everyone, assemble!"
