Chapter 225 - Chapter 225: Iron-Willed Shirosaki Hana, Known by Thousands as a Gourmet

A hobby, huh... How exactly does one find a suitable hobby? Shirosaki Hana fell into deep thought. (-_-)

For example, collecting things. Yamada Ryo not only likes playing the bass but also enjoys collecting various basses. For outdoor activities, Kita Ikuyo often goes out with school friends.

For work-related hobbies, Ijichi Nijika has been helping her sister manage the bar since she was young, practically turning her part-time work at the bar into her hobby.

And Bocchi, besides studying, truly devotes herself to the guitar. This dedication is accumulated over many years through perseverance and hard work.

Shirosaki Hana just wanted something to do in her free time, so she hadn't really thought about seriously learning an instrument or anything like that.

Looking back on her short past, besides going to school, what made her smile from the bottom of her heart?

The Hige-ro plushie! That was a toy Mom gave me when I was very little, so I like it very much. But a plushie doesn't seem like it can become a hobby.

As for collecting plushies... well, collecting hobbies tend to be quite expensive. Although Hana is young, she knows well that it's not easy for her mom to earn money.

Thinking carefully, what else makes her smile... probably only food.

Could it be that my hobby really is eating, just like Hinata said...

"Don't be discouraged, Hana. If you can't think of something you're already good at, why not develop a new hobby?"

Shirosaki Hana: "A new hobby?...."

Uchiha Ryo: "For example, the band those girls started. Does Hana like music?"

Shirosaki Hana nodded, then shook her head. "I like listening to music, but if you ask me to play, I'm not interested."

Uchiha Ryo: "Then what about reading or drawing?"

Shirosaki Hana shook her head again. She didn't really like reading books filled with text, nor was she good at drawing.

This is tricky. It's actually quite hard for a child to find a suitable hobby. Uchiha Ryo looked at Shirosaki Haruka.

"Haruka-nee, can I take Hana out for a walk? I'll send her home in the evening."

Shirosaki Haruka waved her hand casually. "Then I'll leave her to you for the whole day, Ryo-kun. Sending her back tomorrow is fine too."

Alright, she just handed her daughter over for the whole day. But since it's a whole day, Uchiha Ryo needed to plan where to go.

"Is there anywhere Hana wants to go?"

Shirosaki Hana: "The cake shop!"

Uchiha Ryo: "....Um, we are looking for a hobby, not delicious food."

Shirosaki Hana froze, remembering that she was looking for a hobby precisely to get rid of the "glutton" label. So she could only suppress her longing for melon pan and pudding and think carefully about where to go.

While Hana was thinking, Uchiha Ryo led her out of STARRY. Since she didn't know where to go either, they might as well go back to the Yukinoshita house first.

Returning to the Yukinoshita manor again, this time Uchiha Ryo brought along Shirosaki Hana, who was looking around with curiosity written all over her face.

It was still Yukino who opened the door. She wasn't surprised to see Uchiha Ryo return, but generously pulled Shirosaki Hana into the courtyard.

"Where is Chitanda?"

Yukinoshita: "She went home today. Didn't you know?"

Uchiha Ryo: "She went home? Wasn't Chitanda going to stay here with you until Haruno-nee and the others came back?"

Walking into the room, Yukinoshita skillfully went to the kitchen to pour tea and brought out snacks for guests to give to Hana.

"Eru is the only daughter of the Chitanda family after all. Her life is much more tiring than mine.... Since there is a family business left for her to inherit."

Speaking of this, Yukinoshita suddenly thought of something she learned from chatting with Chitanda.

The Chitanda family's doting on Eru is no less than Yukino's doting on cats. In other words, she doesn't face issues of family inheritance forcing her into a cage.

The Chitanda family won't trap Eru, but let this curious kitten explore everywhere. As long as she doesn't forget that she has a family business, they almost give Chitanda free rein.

But Chitanda Eru is also a well-behaved and sensible girl. The classes arranged by her family were not cancelled, only postponed.

So she accompanied Yukino for two days, and naturally left after learning that Haruno would be back today.

Uchiha Ryo: "Chitanda is really sensible...."

Yukinoshita: "Yeah, unlike me. Whatever Mother asks me to do, I want to rebel against...."

Uchiha Ryo: "Well, that's Auntie Yukinoshita's problem, not yours, Yukino. Let's not talk about this. Hana wants to find a hobby suitable for her. Do you have any recommendations?"

Yukinoshita Yukino looked at Shirosaki Hana sitting on the sofa eating cookies.

"Hana likes to eat, wouldn't it be fine to let her learn cooking?"

Uchiha Ryo clapped his hands. "As expected of Yukino, that's a good suggestion!"

Shirosaki Hana naturally heard the conversation between Ryo-oniichan and Yukino-oneechan. Learning cooking? But she was a bit clumsy and didn't know if she could do it well.

"Cooking... I might not do it well. Mom doesn't let me into the kitchen at home because I tend to be more of a hindrance than a help...."

Is that so? Yukinoshita frowned.

"No, I think there is no such thing as 'not good at' something for people, it's just a matter of whether you are serious and whether you have learned it. If Hana wants to learn cooking with me, I can teach you."

Twenty minutes later—

Yukinoshita walked out of the kitchen with Hana.

"Let's consider the next feasible hobby."

Shirosaki Hana: "Oh....."

Yukino sighed. "If Hana wants to eat snacks, you can come to the apartment to find me. It's just upstairs from Ryo-kun's home, you know that right?"

Although he didn't know what happened in the kitchen, it seemed Shirosaki Hana really wasn't suited for cooking.

Uchiha Ryo: "Since you can't cook, how about being responsible for documenting gourmet food?"

Shirosaki Hana looked up. "Documenting gourmet food?"

Uchiha Ryo pushed the cookies on the table forward. "For example, you ate this butter cookie today. Whether it was delicious or awful, you can record it."

This method of recording can be drawing, writing descriptions, or taking photos with a camera.

Yukinoshita rested her chin on her hand. "This seems acceptable. After all, it's well known that Hana likes to eat. Recording what she eats counts as a decent hobby."

Shirosaki Hana: "But in that case, aren't I still a glutton?"

Yukinoshita shook her head. "If you eat meaninglessly, you can indeed be called a glutton. But if you record the food you eat, whether it's the taste level, nutritional content, or price."

"Such a person should be called a Gourmet."

Shirosaki Hana's eyes lit up!

That's right, liking to eat isn't a bad thing! If she can record the things she has eaten into a book, she can immediately recall the dining process when she looks at it later.

"Okay, then I've decided. My hobby is gourmet recording!"
