Chapter 15 - Release.

Tsana decided to talk to Kylos alone, she wanted to know more about her past. Kylos happened to be someone from her past. Of course, she wanted to dig up more information about it.

The two were now sitting by the river flowing not far from where they initially fought. Tsana had asked Cayn and the others to wait somewhere else.

"I should have died a long time ago. But I could always feel your life force, meaning that you were still alive somewhere in this world. But sometimes I would feel your life force disappear, then reappear, then disappear, then reappear the next day. It was as if you were living and dying somewhere, but I didn't know where," Kylos explained.

In this world, the Master-subordinate bond is sacred, as they share the same blood in a cup, and the process of forming their bond is also highly structured and precise. Thus, the effect is deeply felt by them, especially by the subordinate.

This bond cannot be broken even if one of them dies.

The only way to separate the Master-subordinate contract bond is for the Master themselves to release it.

The effect of this contract bond is that the subordinate can always feel their Master's life force. If the Master dies, they can feel the Master's life force vanish. However, the reverse is not true.

The Master cannot feel the subordinate's life force. If the subordinate dies, the Master will not know.

This rule arose because of the subordinate's duty to protect their Master. If the subordinate feels their Master's life force weaken, they must come to protect them. However, if the subordinate's life force weakens, there is no obligation for the Master to protect them.

This rule sounds cruel, but that is how it is.

The entire flow of this bond is in the Master's hands, and the subordinate can do nothing.

"I always wanted to look for you, but I was always stuck in this forest and couldn't leave because a very strong barrier prevented me from going. I couldn't meet my other brethren. We are trapped in different parts of the forest. I can only talk to Aldis, who controls the second section of the forest, even though we can't cross the barrier that separates us," Kylos continued.

"Aldis?" Tsana repeated.

Kylos lowered his gaze. "You must have forgotten Aldis too."

Hearing Kylos's bitter voice, Tsana somehow felt a sense of guilt. She didn't know where this feeling came from, but it felt like she had made a mistake by forgetting those who shared a past with her.

Kylos stared at the forest in front of him, "Aldis is the second Demon General you bound with the Master-subordinate bond. He is very loyal to you, even to this day."

Kylos bowed his head and said in a weak voice. "He always told me that all the Demon Generals trapped in this forest are greatly anticipating your return, including me."

Tsana didn't know why, but she seemed to see a small figure within Kylos. In her vision, she saw random images around her, similar to when she saw the scene of the battle at the entrance to the Nightmare forest.

However, what she saw this time was a small Bufequss monster joyfully running around her, and when she looked at Kylos before her, she felt like she wanted to keep patting this child's head until he was no longer sad.

Then, unconsciously, Tsana's hand lifted, slowly approached Kylos, and gently patted the Demon's horned head.

That action froze Kylos, and his eyes slowly widened.

A peaceful atmosphere seemed to form around them.

Suddenly, Tsana said, "Do you miss me very much? My little Demon?"

"My- little Demon?" Kylos looked at Tsana with a gaze full of shock. His plain yellow eyes teared up when he heard the nickname he hadn't heard for so long. "Do you remember now?"

Tsana nodded slowly. "Yes, in my head, I saw you as a child running around me while constantly calling my name."

Kylos's cry immediately broke out after hearing Tsana's words. His front legs fell to his knees before Tsana, and he hugged Tsana's waist, sobbing uncontrollably.

He was like a small child who desperately missed his mother.

"Can you sing like you used to? I miss your singing so much." -Kylos said.

Tsana gently patted Kylos's back, like a mother comforting her child, and started singing.

Her voice was soft and gentle, creating a beautiful and peaceful rhythm. Her humming brought a feeling of sleepiness, safety, and calm. Even the fireflies nearby danced around them.

It was as if a deeply moving reunion was taking place there.

Although she hadn't fully remembered, Tsana could feel the emotional connection between herself and Kylos. She knew the small Bufequss monster running around in her memories was Kylos, and it must have been a fragment of her past memory.

She doesn't know how this fragment appeared and what triggered it, but through this fragment she can see her past memories, even if only a little.

Kylos whimpered, "When I was little, you saved me from death. Then I considered you my mother! You brought me to your home and cared for me with love, then I willingly formed the Master-Subordinate bond with you. I also fought in the war with you, you spoiled me so much! Then why did you leave me here? I've been waiting for you for hundreds of years!"

The sight of a Demon General with a large, terrifying appearance, sobbing while hugging a woman by the riverbank, was certainly an unusual sight.

However, for Kylos and Tsana, who felt the bond of long-separated yearning, the scene looked full of emotion and happiness.

"You must have suffered so much all this time, trapped here for hundreds of years. I am sorry," Tsana said.

Kylos shook his head. "Seeing you again right now makes me so happy."

"In that case, I will release you from this Master-Subordinate bond, Kylos. Forgive me for making you wait."

Tsana's palm, resting on Kylos's head, emitted a soft green and gold light.

Slowly, Kylos's body gradually transformed into faint purple lights.

Before his body completely vanished, Kylos said, "Thank you. If you meet the other Demon Generals, please send them my regards. Besides being my brethren, they are also your children."

Tsana whispered, "Yes."

The purple glowing lights of Kylos's body slowly floated upward, and he spoke again, "Also, I still hate that white-haired man. He is a bastard who always wanted to kill you. Don't go near him any further."

This time Tsana did not agree with Kylos's words, but she waved her hand in farewell to Kylos and smiled faintly.

"Goodbye," Tsana whispered.

The purple glowing lights floated into the air and disappeared into the depths of the forest.

After that, the atmosphere became silent, only the rustling of leaves and the splashing of the tranquil river water could be heard.

As if nothing had ever happened.

Suddenly, Tsana felt something strange happening in her stomach, and when she checked, her eyes slowly widened.

"The curse-"

Then, a massive shockwave occurred all around.

The ground Tsana stood on shook violently, making her body unstable. Then, from the middle of the river, a huge silver gate emerged, emitting a golden light that swirled like a vortex.

Concurrently, the sky convulsed, what was initially bright blue suddenly turned dark, and terrifying black vortices formed on every side.

The surrounding atmosphere, which had been silent, turned ominous. The air around her felt suffocating.

The surroundings became completely dark, as if day had turned into night.

When Tsana looked up, her heart seemed to stop beating, and her throat constricted, her neck feeling as if it were being choked by a very sharp, barbed chain.

There, right in the sky, a gigantic eye appeared, its eyeball blazing red like blood, with nerve lines that looked like streaks of lightning, its pupil vertical, and it stared directly at Tsana.

"Tsana!"

Tsana heard Cayn's voice calling her, and she saw Cayn running towards her with a panicked face.

"Cayn," Tsana whispered with a trembling voice.

Just as the man's hand was about to reach her, suddenly hundreds of sharp iron chains emerged from all directions, (above, below, left, right, and behind Cayn) piercing his entire body and tearing him apart mercilessly.

Tsana gasped.

Fresh blood flowed down the chains, forming a terrifying pool of blood.

Tsana stared at Cayn's torn and lifeless body with a blank look, her face deathly pale, as if all her blood had been drained.

She stood before Cayn like a statue. Her eyes were wide, her pupils dilated as if losing focus, her lips trembled faintly, and tears rolled down her vacant face.

Tsana's throat constricted.

"Why- did it turn out like this-"
