In the middle of the duel, You Ye paid no attention to anyone's shocked expressions—he simply raised his hand and declared:
"Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier's effect activates!
When this card is Synchro Summoned, I can banish one card each from your field, your GY, and your hand—without targeting!
I choose to banish your Snake-Eye Original Sin Treasure from the GY, your Obelisk the Tormentor on the field, and one random card from your hand!"
"Go, Trishula—manifest the Spear of Destruction! Pierce through and banish them all!"
A thunderous triple roar shook the air.
Trishula's three heads merged into three radiant spears of light, lancing out in unison—striking the field, the graveyard, and Ouyang Yanyan's hand all at once.
Obelisk the Tormentor:
He stared down at the glowing spear embedded in his chest, gave You Ye one last, unreadable glance… and then dissolved into light.
"Uh…" Sheng Ning's face twisted with complicated emotion, but she said nothing.
God or mortal—neither were beings she dared to offend.
Ouyang Yanyan, by contrast, stood frozen, mouth hanging open in disbelief as she stared at the Trishula before her.
That one move had annihilated her resources—her Original Sin Snake-Eye in the grave, her strongest monster Obelisk, and even one of her key hand cards, Snake-Eye Little Blue.
A devastating blow.
Yet instead of despair, she felt… excitement.
The stronger You Ye was, the more she could learn under him—and the stronger she would become.
"I'll set Runick Fountain, then Runick Tricks as my Continuous Spell," You Ye continued calmly.
"Next, I target your Great Ignis with Runick Flashing Fire—destroy it and banish the top two cards of your Deck."
"Runick Tricks activates—banish one more from the top of your Deck.
Chain 2, Fountain's effect—target three Quick-Play Spells in my GY: Runick Flashing Fire, Destruction Storm, and Golden Droplet."
He glanced toward her. "Any response?"
Ouyang Yanyan checked her hand, then shook her head. "No response, Senior."
"Chain resolves.
Fountain returns the three Runick Spells to the bottom of my Deck, then I draw three cards.
Tricks banishes the top card of your Deck.
Finally, I set two cards, skip Battle Phase, and end my turn."
After a flurry of smooth, practiced moves, You Ye ended his turn.
"Night, aren't you being a little too serious? You're not leaving her any chance," Mu Ning asked quietly from the side, brow furrowed.
Ouyang Yanyan only had one card left—did he really need to set two? One of them was obviously Blessing for Nature.
"I didn't give her a chance, no," You Ye replied with a mysterious smile. "But you're underestimating Snake-Eye."
"Snake-Eye is a one-card combo archetype. Ouyang Yanyan just doesn't know the optimal lines yet.
If played correctly—and without interruption—a single card is enough for a full OTK.
And not just one specific card. Several different starters can lead to lethal consequences.
That's how powerful Snake-Eye truly is."
"One card OTK? And multiple lines can do it?"
Mu Ning stared at Ouyang Yanyan in shock. She hadn't seen that kind of potential from what looked like a simple engine.
Even her own Runick deck required two cards to start moving; by comparison, Snake-Eye's ceiling sounded terrifying.
Sheng Ning looked equally dumbfounded.
Her mind buzzed with question marks.
One-card OTK?
She did a quick mental calculation—her Ancient Gear deck, even with Limiter Removal and Ancient Gear Wyvern setup, needed at least two cards to achieve lethal on an open board.
Compared to Snake-Eye's freedom, her deck suddenly felt clunky—
And that realization sent a cold sweat down her spine.
For a moment, she couldn't help imagining how the higher-ups at the Inspector Bureau must feel now.
They'd let a genius like Ouyang Yanyan slip away.
If they'd known how powerful the Snake-Eye archetype could become, they would've poured every resource they had into nurturing her—making her the Bureau's next pillar.
But now, it was too late.
At this rate, once she formed a Duel Contract under You Ye, she'd become his most loyal subordinate—forever cut off from the Bureau.
And betrayal? Impossible.
The Duel Contract's rules forbade all disloyal actions.
"My archetypes that strong?"
Under the combined gaze of Mu Ning and Sheng Ning, Ouyang Yanyan could barely contain her excitement.
She'd always known Snake-Eye was good—but this?
This was a revelation.
For the first time, she even felt tempted to surrender now, just so she could finalize her Duel Contract with You Ye and start refining her build immediately.
"You can be strong—but you still need to play properly.
If you ever summon Obelisk like that again, I swear I'll beat you," You Ye said with a dark glare.
"With what? I've never been beaten before," she replied instinctively—then her eyes flicked down toward his lower body.
You Ye: ( ̄﹏ ̄;)
Mu Ning: (ˉ▽ˉ;)…
Sheng Ning: (><)
"Just… keep going!" You, Ye growled, cheeks darkening.
Realizing she'd gone too far, Ouyang Yanyan quickly bowed. "Y-Yes, Senior!"
"My turn! Draw!"
Before she could even ask, You Ye said evenly, "Nothing in the Standby Phase. Proceed."
She nodded and immediately entered Main Phase 1.
"I activate my second Field Spell—Snake-Eye Shrine!
Its effect lets me place Great Ignis into the Spell & Trap Zone.
Then I activate Great Ignis's effect, targeting Snake-Eye Little Blue in my GY!"
"I chain! Blessing for Nature, Quick-Play Spell!" You Ye, cut in.
"I Special Summon one Naturia monster from my Deck or GY!"
Ouyang Yanyan blinked—why would he trigger a summon in response to Shrine's setup effect?
But if You Ye was doing it, there had to be a reason.
He wasn't giving her any chance before—so if he was chaining now, it meant this was still part of his careful plan.
She focused on her own moves, determined not to disappoint him.
She didn't notice the faintly mischievous smiles curling on both You Ye's and Mu Ning's lips.
Chain resolves in reverse order:
Chain 2: You Ye's Blessing for Nature resolves, Special Summoning Naturia Camellia from his GY.
Chain 1: Ouyang Yanyan's Great Ignis resolves, Special Summoning itself.
Then You Ye spoke again—voice steady, but eyes gleaming.
"I activate Runick Tricks—its effect triggers!"
"Since you summoned a monster, Chain 2, Snake-Eye Shrine's effect activates—I can Special Summon a monster from my Spell & Trap Zone!" Ouyang Yanyan followed up immediately.
But before her chain could resolve, You Ye continued smoothly—
"Chain 3: Camellia's first effect—send one Naturia card from Deck to GY.
Chain 4: Camellia's third effect—when a monster is Summoned, I can Special Summon a Naturia monster from my GY.
And finally, Chain 5: Runick Flashing Fire! Target your Great Ignis for destruction!"
Ouyang Yanyan: "...Huh??"
How did her one simple chain suddenly turn into a five-chain stack?!
And Camellia—what kind of monster was this!?
Milling one card as effect 1, Special Summoning another as effect 3—
Did that mean it still had a second effect she hadn't even seen yet?!
Was the Naturia archetype always this busted!?
She'd always heard people say Naturia was "mid-tier at best"—good for locking out certain decks, but overall unimpressive.
Now, watching You Ye's Naturia engine unfold before her eyes, she could only gape in disbelief.
