After staying out of the country for so long, I decided it was about time for me to come back home, although that was not the only reason.
"Sir your Mom asked to see you as soon as you returned" I knew that voice all to well it was Mr Williams for all I can remember he has been working for us for so long even before i was born.
My return home was abrupt, so no one knew. Hence, no paparazzi's. The only person I told was Sir Williams, which was probably a mistake.
When I got out of the airport, a car was already waiting for me. That was no surprise, I said nothing and just walked in, allowing the chauffeur to carry my bag to the back of the car.
I missed my mom, but I didn't want to see her now. All she is just going to talk about is why I haven't shown her the girl. I want to marry complaining about how she is getting old and wants to see her grandchild before she dies.
"Is dad at home too?" I asked.
"No, the chairman had something to attend to," Sir Williams replied. I just sighed well. There goes my only saving grace.
It took us about an hour to get home. When I saw the familiar building, I couldn't help smiling. This was where I grew up , a place I had so many memories.
It was really nice to be back.
"Sir, your Mom is waiting," Sir Willaston called, pulling me out from my reminiscing. I nodded, coming down.
I walked into the house and then slowly made my way to the living room where Mom and... Mateo?
What was Mateo doing here? knowing mom she was probably the one that brought him here.
"Did you really miss me that much that you couldn't wait to see me and came here?" I asked, walking over before lazily sitting down on one of the couches.
"Oh please, I came to see Mom. I heard she was ill, and I don't need to even ask who must have pushed her to the extent of getting ill."
Mom was ill? I didn't know about that.
"She looks fine to me," I replied, unperturbed.
"You..."
"That's enough, both of you. I know you guys missed each other a lot, so stop with the bickering," she interrupted.
Mateo has been my best friend since childhood. we literally did everything together back then we even used to wear the same clothes. We were so close that people thought we were twins.
I still remembered how he bawled his eyes out when I was about travelling if the whole atmosphere wasn't so sober i would have taken the video of him crying that would be a nice thing to show his future kids.
"It's nice to have you back bro" he said, walking towards my arms open wide. I chuckled, standing up, too.
"It's nice to be back," I responded, hugging him we stayed like that for a while before i broke free sitting down. While Mateo went to do the same.
"I'm sure Sir Williams has already told you where your dad is?" Mom asked, and I just nodded.
"I'll see him later," I said smiling she nodded.
"Cyrus, I hoped by now you would have at least been dating and planning marriage, but I'm struck with the reality of you having no wife, no children, not even a fling," she said pausing
I couldn't help sighing. I knew this was the reason she asked to see me.
"When are you going to bring a wife home? The only reason I haven't brought a girl for you is because of your dad, but I'm fed up. I'm giving you one week. One week to bring a girl home I don't care how you are going to do it but you better figure it out or I'll bring a girl for you and you will have to marry her no questions asked"
I haven't seen my mom so serious before it seemed like she wasn't playing this time. I watched her stand up and then turn to leave . She said what she wanted to say. The rest was up to me.
"Woah bro, it seems like you're in a serious pickel this time," Mateo said from the sound of his voice he was enjoying this.
"Why can't I just rest? I just came back, no?" I mumbled, sighing.
"What are you going to do?" He asked. I turned to him smiling.
"I'm going to bring her a daughter in law what else?" I replied, making him raise an eyebrow he was probably curious about what I was thinking, but I said nothing else and just stood up.
"Come on, you have to drive me home,"
"Since when did I become your chauffeur?" he replied, faking anger
"Come on, we have a lot of catching up to do besides, didn't you say you missed me?" I joked, making him scoff.
"I don't remember saying anything like that?" He replied, standing up.
I turned heading toward the front door. He was following closely behind me.
"Says the guy thar was bawling his eyes out when I was leaving." My comment was met with a smack on my head from him and a glare. All I did was laugh.

After a series of taunting from me and trying to catch up the little we could, he dropped me home, not without telling me to be careful and not do anything stupid.
What was that supposed to mean? Anyways right now, I was standing in front of my house. It was just as I remembered it. I stood there for a while before walking in.
It seemed mom had made sure the place was clean after i left the country. The whole place was sparkling, and not a single speck of dust could be seen.
I looked around for a while, getting familiar with the place again. Before walking into my room, I had to take my bath.
I thought of my company I won't be able to go there tomorrow at least not in the morning I had to go somewhere first. I'm sure my secretary Xavier will be surprised to see me.
Like everyone else, he also had no idea that I was back. I think I will be giving him some time off tomorrow. After all, he has been the one taking care of the company in my absence.
Even though I still gave orders to him and formatted contracts and attended meetings without him, I wouldn't have been able to do all those.
But knowing him, I was sure he was going to decline.
