Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

Seattle (Washington)...

"Sienna!!"

"Coming, mom," I called out, trying to tie my hair in a bun. I was starting to regret not taking my dad's help. These little hands of mine were really not helping.

"Sienna!" This time, it was dad. I hurriedly did what i could, then turned to the mirror it wasn't my best hairstyle, but it still looked good on me. Everything did.

I stared at my small reflection— from my messy hair to my big eyes. Mom and dad always said my eyes were my most beautiful. I could see why. Sometimes, I got lost in them.

"Sienna!!"

"I better go down before they come up to get me," I mumbled, looking at myself one more time before hurrying out.

Mom and Dad were rarely at home. They were so busy with work that i wondered if they even lived at home. They provided everything i needed and tried to be there for me, but it still wasn't enough. I just wanted to be with them.

That's why today was special they'd called it "Family Fun Day."" Honestly, i didn't care what they called it. i was just happy we'd be together.

"Gods, I thought someone kidnapped you or something," Mom said as i came down.

"Mom, aren't you letting your imagination run wild who will kidnap me with so much security?" I replied, pretending to be offended.

After i went missing for 2 day, Mom and Dad increased the security around the house and never allowed me to go out alone.

Because of that event I met someone interesting it was too bad we wouldn't be able to see each other again.

"I was just trying to fix my hair,"

"If you didn't always try to do everything yourself, we would have probably been on our way now," I heard my dad say, which earned him an eye roll from me.

"I'm not a kid. Why should I let you dress me?" I shot back

"You're four y–"

"That's enough. You two," Mom interrupted with a laugh. "At least she is down now. Let's go," She added, pulling both of us at this point. I think she is happier than i am.

"Where are we heading?" I asked. She just turned to me with a mischievous smile.

"You'll see,"

"We are here," Dad announced

Prompting me to turn and stare out the window. I guess i couldn't hide my surprise because i could hear mom giggling from the front seat.

"You have been saying you wanted to come to an aquarium, right? We decided it's about time we fulfilled you wish, " she said

"Of course," Dad added. "That's not the only thing on our Family Fun Day schedule, but it is the first,"

"Seriously, who came up with that name?" I said admist my laughter mom soon joined. "Do you really have to ask?"

"Come on, let's go. we can't waste any more time here," Dad said, coming down, and we soon followed.

When we walked in, there was no one inside, which was odd. Where we really that early? I don't think so.

"Mom, Dad, where is everyone?" I asked, looking around.

"We rented the whole place for you," Mom responded casually.

I just shook my head, speechless.

But then–I saw them. Dolphins.

"Sienna, wait–" Mom started, but i was already running.

This was the sole reason I wanted to come to an aquarium.

Dolphins were one of the sea creatures that interested me. i had read somewhere that they could recognise themselves in a mirror and slept by resting only half of their brain. How fascinating is that.

"I can see someone's found her favourite," I heard dad say from behind me. It seems like they had finally caught up with me. I just nodded, not bothering to turn to face him.

"They are really interesting creatures," I mumbled loud enough for him to hear

The rest of the hour was spent with me, mom and dad, touring the whole aquarium. I never knew they were so many sea creatures, and this was not all, at least that's what dad said.

Dad told me about some and what they did, but there was only so much he knew.

"Okay, next on our schedule, the zoo," he said as we were heading out.

Today was really going to be fun, i thought, smiling.

We had so much fun today after our long tour of the aquarium we went to the zoo per dad's schedule i got to see a lot of animals although i preferred the aquarium but it was still fun.

I even took a picture with the lions i didn't want to admit it but i was scared if mom and dad had not been with me i would have never taken that picture I'm glad they were there.

We even got to see pandas they were as cute and chaotic as i imagined after dolphins and penguins, pandas were my next favourite.

After that we went to the Seattle center Playground i had a lot of fun there too i played some music on the sound sculptures, metal tubes and chimes although i think it was more of noise than music.

Oh well, as long as i was happy.

We also took a lot of photos there too then i decided to climb the 30–foot tower there at least i tried to and you can guess that it ended up in a failure I'm just glad i didn't get hurt.

We went to an amusement park after that. Now here we are on our way home it was already late and i was very tired.

"I wish we could do this every day," I whispered, but i guess they heard me cause mom turned to me.

"Me too dear, but you have school, and we have work," she replied.

I frowned.

"Maybe," Dad said, glancing back at me, "We can do this every Saturday,". I immediately turned to him.

"Are you serious?" I asked he nodded. I turned to mom, who was smiling.

"It's official, then every Saturday is Family Fun Day," he cheered. I couldn't help laughing again.

"Dad, you ser..."

And then everything changed.

There was a flash. A screech. One second, we were driving... the next, the world flipped upside down. The car spun off the road.

"Sienna!!" I heard mom call, or was it dad? The ringing in my ears was too loud.

"Are they dead?" A voice asked

"Do you think anyone would survive that crash?"

Who are they? What are they talking about? What Crash? Why can't i hear mom and dad's voice.

"We should go before someone sees us. Our work is done."

"N–n–no p–please don't go," I tried to say, but the words came out broken and muffled. "Mom, Dad," I thought desperately, but my eyes wouldn't open.

The last thing i heard before passing out was a whisper.

"Sienna, we are sorry."
